Before You Found Me

Summary

Adira and Harry rely on each other and friends to overcome their troubled and not-so-in-the-past pasts. Meanwhile, friends and family are on journeys of their own, struggling to break destructive habits, uncover secrets, and find the will to keep on going when they think they really might not be able to anymore. It's a fictional tale that is all too rooted in the truth, and not all stories have a happy ending... (But this one probably will.) :)

Characters

Adira

She's a fighter, but years of abuse have left her scarred. She's trying to move on with her life, but it's hard to leave the hurt behind.

Arela

Adira's best friend; Just the sweetest, most pure, most GOOD person on earth. Is very wise for her age, gives great advice, and is always helping those around her. She's also unique, but quite lovable.

Daemon

Adira and Lorne's father; Mallory's husband. The source of a lot of pain in this tale. NOT a nice man.

Delilah

Harry's ex; her revenge is the reason he's crossed the pond.

Fox

A clever drifter who clings to Lorne and will do anything to keep him within arm's grasp.

Harry

Finds himself running away to a small, Texas town after his ex does the unthinkable; meets Adira.

Haven

Owns Haven's Diner; acts as a sort of father figure for Adira and Lorne; very good, sweet, giving man.

Lorne

Adira's brother and Fox's boyfriend. Doesn't handle his hard life as well as Adira and finds himself battling his demons and spiraling out of control.

Mallory

Adira and Lorne's mother; Daemon's wife. Suffers an unfortunate fate.

Hey, guys!

I apologize for being gone so long. I've had crazy school stuff going on, all kinds of weird family crap, and then my computer freaked out on me. I have a new computer now, which is great except for the fact that all the work I had done on future chapters is still on the other computer, and I can't get to it right now. Sooo... Until I can get my original computer fixed, I'm going to start a new story. Not sure exactly what it'll be yet, but I'll be uploading it soon. :)

I'm sorry that I haven't written in 9 days, but I've been very busy with schoolwork (it's this whole big homeschooling fiasco. It's a long story, but basically I'm, like, a month and a half behind, and I have until Jan. to completely catch up.) I'm going to try and update within the next couple days. Please hold out!

More than 400 views! Thanks, you guys. :) I know to many, this may not seem like a lot. After all, there are tons of stories with views into the 10,000's and above! But I didn't think that a single soul would be interested in my story. I've only ever finished short stories for class assignments, I've never been able to finish one of my longer ideas before. They always remained just that--an idea. Sometimes a wonderful and well thought out one, but an idea nonetheless. Seeing that even one of you has taken time out of their lives to read my words (even if it isn't my best work) fills me with a special kind of joy, and I'm very grateful to you. To anyone who's actually keeping up with the whole story, YOU are a blessing. Well, I've written a book here in this comments section, so I'll finish now. Thank you, and may each of you be blessed with an absolutely wonderful weekend.

Hey, everyone! (And I know there are people, because I can see the views.) I just wanted to let you know that I added something to the beginning of the first chapter, and I'm going to start adding more again! I was really unhappy with where things were going. I was just cranking out chapters and not worrying about the quality. Well, no more! I'm going to put out better written, more exciting chapters and now.
