Before You Found Me

"Hey, there, Mystery Girl."
"Huh?" I turned to see Harry standing behind me.
"What are you doing out here?"
"Thinking," I replied, wondering how he even found this place.
"A dangerous pastime," he grinned. Harry's eyes were shining so brightly, and the wind was playing with his hair; and he just looked like he belonged out there in my special place.
I patted an open space on the boulder I was resting on, and he sat with a soft crinkle of his windbreaker and a sigh. "So how did you find me out here? I thought no one knew about this place."
"I was just adventuring. I've spent a lot of time exploring and seeing everything I can in this country. I don't want to miss anything."
I smiled. "Well, this spot is magical."
Harry raised his eyebrows, curiosity all over his features. "Oh? How so?" He questioned.
I chuckled softly. "You'll just have to come out here with me again some time and see."
"I'd like that."
"It's settled then." Harry was playing with the zipper on his windbreaker, fingering the metal, flicking it this way and that. I reached over and held his hand, stopping the the movement. "Your jacket will thank me later," I teased.
Harry lifted my hand, "I'm thanking you now," and placed the gentlest of kisses on my knuckles, just like in one of those old movies. I couldn't help but giggle and look to my knees. Harry took my chin in his hand and tilted it up towards him. I gazed into his kind eyes. "I don't know who left his mark on you, but I'll protect you now." I inhaled sharply. It was so out of the blue. I didn't know what to say, I just sat there. "You don't need to think about him any more. I know that's why you're quiet, why you spend time all alone drifting off into space. You're remembering the hurt. Take it from someone who's hurting, too--it's better not to dwell on it."
I swallowed and managed to convince my mouth to form words and let me speak. "This is why you're here in Texas."
"Yes, and I'm glad I am." Harry leaned in and brushed his lips against mine, so quick and soft, I hardly felt his touch. My whole body buzzed, the electricity zinging through each and every vein in my body. My blood hummed underneath my skin, and color painted my cheeks. Wow.
Harry gave me a little space and brushed a lock of hair away from my eyes. I held his hand to my face and closed the distance between us, placing my lips on his. Soon his hands were in my hair and my arms were wrapped around his neck and I could feel his warm breath melting into mine. I pulled him into me, wanting him closer and closer, loving the feel of him strong and soft against me--loving the feel of a touch not meant to harm. I craved his hands on me, our bodies pressed together, our mouths forming unspoken words. I breathed in this glorious feeling with each gasp of air I drew between kisses.
And then it clicked. Realization, cold and hard. I barely know him. I drew away. "I'm sorry," I breathed. "I'm so sorry." And I ran away, leaving him sitting dumbstruck on my favorite boulder to wonder what the heck just happened.

SOO...I've been super busy with school and such, but I've updated! I've been inspired recently and have been writing random tidbits that go later on, and I'm SUPER EXCITED for y'all to read them! They're actually pretty good, y'all. :) So stick around!
