Before You Found Me
Where I Belong
“Why are you calling me?” Harry asked, rage rising from the pit of his stomach through his chest and burning a hole in his patience.
“Harry, I think it's about time you come home.”
“Come home? After all you did to me?! You're the reason I'm here!”
Delilah paused, a stiff silence filling the air. “Look,” Delilah continued, her crisp consonants cutting through the tension. “I know you're still upset--”
“Upset?! I'm furious! You ruined my life!”
“--But Holmes Chapel is your home. You need to come back.”
“Delilah, I don't need you to tell me to do anything. I'm not going back. Not anytime soon.” CLICK!
Well, Harry's afternoon was going just swimmingly.
Harry threw his phone onto his mattress in frustration and took his anger out on an unsuspecting pillow. God, he couldn't escape her!
Harry looked back at his phone, a sudden longing spurring him to pick it back up again, to send his nimble fingers tapping away at the screen.

In a matter of seconds, Harry threw his windbreaker on, shoved his phone in his pocket, and was out the door.
“What's up?” Adira asked as she embraced him tightly.
Harry held her tightly, running his fingers through her long, silky strands. “We're together now, and I think it's only right that I tell you my past. It was a long road to Texas.”
Adira looked up at Harry through thick lashes. “I've got time.”
Harry exhaled one great breath and sat himself down on Adira's favorite rock, pulling her down with him. “It all started a couple years ago, when I started dating a girl named Delilah. She was beautiful and smart, and everything seemed to be going great for a while. Then she started wanting to spend more and more time with me. She got...clingy. Demanding. Finally, one night she came over when my parents weren't home, and she threw herself on me. I pushed her away, and she tripped over the coffee table, tore her skirt. I told her she needed to get out of my house—it was over. She begged me to reconsider, to take it all back, but I was done. So she went to the station and told the Bobbies I'd raped her.” Harry flinched when Adira gasped, but he couldn't look at her—not until he finished telling his story. “After a long investigation, the police finally came to the conclusion that I was innocent. But Holmes Chapel is a very small town, and, by that point, my reputation was ruined. No one would speak to me, my best lads shunned me—even my parents didn't want to look at me anymore. I couldn't stick around.”
“Oh, Harry.” Adira held him tighter.
“I saved up my money and bought a one way ticket to America. Never looked back. I traveled from place to place, stopping every once and a while in random towns to pick up some odd jobs, make up some of the money I'd spent.” Harry made eye contact with his love, whom he still held in his arms. “And then I stopped into this little diner. There was a girl there—a beautiful girl. Brown hair, bright eyes. She had the most amazing laugh. I saw her, and I made up my mind.”
“What did you decide?”
“I decided I was ready to find a home again. And I found a place with you.” Harry pulled Adira to him, enveloping her in a deep kiss. All of his worry and doubt and anger fueled the fires of his passion, and the kiss lasted and lasted. When the two finally broke away, there wasn't a thought to be found in either of their heads, and a warm feeling settled over both of them.
“So what brought all this on?”
“Delilah called me.”
“What?!”
“She wanted me to go home. But I told her I wasn't going anywhere.” Harry laid a gentle kiss on Adira's lips. “I'm happy right where am.”

Hey, guys!
I apologize for being gone so long. I've had crazy school stuff going on, all kinds of weird family crap, and then my computer freaked out on me. I have a new computer now, which is great except for the fact that all the work I had done on future chapters is still on the other computer, and I can't get to it right now. Sooo... Until I can get my original computer fixed, I'm going to start a new story. Not sure exactly what it'll be yet, but I'll be uploading it soon. :)
Have a good night, Lovies!
