Savannah's POV:
The next day....
This was the playing board, you either have what it takes to play or you don't.
'Hey Dr. Avery, heard you saved another life yesterday ' Noah greeted me in his soprano voice. 'Morning Sav' Rach joined us at the nurse-station* as I signed papers. 'Rach, it's already 12 noon' I rolled my eyes. 'Well, I'm sorry some of us are not a morning person' she said as she put her coat on.
These were my two best friend, Noah Mathers, his gay and Rachel Stevens, she's a diva. Both surgeons with me at the hospital.
'So how was the overnight date with Mckenzie?' Noah teased. 'Mckenzie was here overnight as well? Damn! Do you people ever go home' Rach complained.
William Mckenzie, a great surgeon, he was the competition. Like me he was self driven, but he was also arrogant and cocky. He was in the hospital for surgery only, that means getting to know patients or attending to their other needs was out of the question.
'Good morning Chairman, good morning Chief' both my best friends turned around as I finished the paper work.
And these are my parents Elizabeth Joy Avery, Chief of Surgery and James Bradley Avery, Chairman of the Hospital and the Surgical and Medical board. My Dad owns 70 percent of the hospital's share. From time to time he likes to do a surgery but most of the time it's paper work for him. Boring!
'Hey Mum, Dad' I gave them a kiss. 'Congratulations on the heart transplant last nigh Dr.Avery' Dad calls me by my professional name when were at the hospital, well most time. 'Thanks' I smiled. 'Anyway sweetie, didn't you say you had a lunch to go to?' Mum asked. 'I do, I'm heading off now' I replied.
Harry's POV:
'Oh Harry, your back' Nan called out as I entered her room with Mum by her bedside. 'Hi, Nan. I've missed you' I hugged her frail body. 'Oh you have to meet the doctor Harry, she is a very lovely and beautiful lady' Nan smiled. 'Maybe you can take her out for lunch, for me?' she suggested. 'Nan, you've just had surgery and the first thing you fuss about is my love life' I chuckled. 'Mum, is Gemma coming down here?'I asked. 'No, she's taking care of Pop' she replied.
'Hi, Ms.Cox how are you feeling today? 'a nurse came in. 'Fine thank you' Nan smiled. 'Am I able to speak with Dr.Avery, my Nan's doctor?'I asked. 'Of course, she's just out there. I'll get her for you' the nurse left the room.
Nan was right she was beautiful. But a little too old. 'Hi, I'm Dr. Avery. I heard you wanted to speak to me' the lady spoke in a formal tone. 'Hi I'm Harry. I just wanted to say thank you for operating on my Nan' I expressed my deep gratitude. 'You're welcome Harry' the doctor smiled.
'But it was actually my daughter that performed the surgery. She's the one in charge of your Nan' she informed me. 'Oh I would love to meet her then' I said. 'Sorry she just left' the lady apologised.
Ring! Ring! My phone rang. 'Sorry, excuse me' I moved away to answer the call. 'Hey, yeah Nans doing well. Oh she's there now? Okay then, I'm coming home' I said on the phone.
Okay, I know it's been a long time since you've written this story but is definitely amazing. I love how Savannah is educated and sophisticated. The story has a nice flow to it, it makes sense and is well written! I have also read your other stories and they are also excellent. I think you should continue writing or start a new story because you're really good! <3
