Cardio

From the Beginning

Savannah's POV:

This was how it began...

'Alright people, it's a beautiful day to save lives. Let's give this patient this new heart' I said optimistically to my team around the operating table. 'Scalpel' I put out my left hand. The room lights over the table shone down on the patient's chest as I opened up her chest cavity. 'Let's hook her up' I announced. The patient was connected to a heart-lung bypass machine to keep oxygenated blood flowing throughout her body. Then there was the complicated task of removing the original heart

2 hours later

'Out with the old and in with the new' I said as I finally took out the patient's failing heart and placed it in the bucket. I gently reached in for the new heart inside a sealed container and installed it in the patient's body.

2 hours later

'Alright, let's warm her up people' I instructed. To get the new heart pumping, the body must be warmed up. 'No sign of heart beat doctor' a colleague informed me. 'Let's give her a shock' I nodded my head. Sometimes an electric shock is needed to make the muscles contract in a coordinated manner.

Beep..........beep...........beep.

'We've got a pulse' the guy by the monitors announced and everyone cheered. 'And there's no sign of leakage Dr. Avery' a surgeon claimed. 'Great job everyone. 5 hours of standing and we're finally done' I announced and everyone clapped at the success of the surgery. 'Alright people, let's close her up' my assistant informed.

1 hour later

'Hi, Doc. What happened?' the patient's daughter asked me as I left the O.R.(Operation Room) 'I'm glad to say that the surgery went well and there were no complications during the procedure' I told her the good news. 'Oh thank you so much Doc' the lady hugged me. 'It's okay' I smiled at her. 'Well I have to go, I'll check on her in morning' I smiled again and turn down the corridors.

Hi, my name is Savannah Grace Avery and I am an Attending Cardiovascular Thoracic surgeon at The Royal London Hospital.I am an only child so at times it's get lonely... or not.I have everything I could wish for in life, loving parents, the coolest friends and a successful career. Well I thought I had everything....

I take care of people's heart but people ask who takes care of my heart?

I tell them I'm not really looking for love and all that emotional baggage. I'm content with spending most of my time in the hospital. I can't help it if I'm addicted to my work. I'm a workaholic and maybe that's why I haven't found a boy to love

Anyway, I don't think anyone would be able to stand a workaholic.

Harry's POV:
'Mum, how is she?' I ran down the quiet corridors. 'She's good love. She's resting now' she assured me. 'The doctor said surgery went well. So Nan is resting now but she won't be awake for a couple of hours' she started to cry. 'Mum, don't cry. She's okay now' I hugged her. 'I'm just happy she's okay' she sobbed in my arms.

I just got back from our world tour which ended in Australia. I've been away from London for 6 months. In that six months my Nan has been in hospital due to her failing heart. But we've sent her to the best hospital in London and they were right this was the best hospital.

'Is the doctor here?' I asked as I pulled away from the hug. 'She just left hun' Mum told me.

Notes

Please give my story a chance.

Okay, I know it's been a long time since you've written this story but is definitely amazing. I love how Savannah is educated and sophisticated. The story has a nice flow to it, it makes sense and is well written! I have also read your other stories and they are also excellent. I think you should continue writing or start a new story because you're really good! <3

I hope you choose to update this story!! It's my favorite one of yours!!! I love how Savannah is an educated, sophisticated woman who already has her life in order. The girls in these stories usually aren't even close to her intellectually and I really enjoy it!!

Hey! So far I've only read 8 chapters (Sanctuary was the last) but I have to comment. Greys anatomy is my all time favourite tv show. This is a really creative and amazing story! Your such a talented writer.

Ps. What made me comment was the little speech sav gave about the hospital being her home, the one meridith said in the season 6 finale.
@princess.sparkle i loved it just as much as i love you others lol
@hazzaismylover I really wished I could! But I'm putting all my effort on my sequel at the moment, hopefully once I feel comfortable with how that is going, I can get some time to continue this :)
