Lia’s POV

“We’re screwed.” Lana said from beside me. My first instinct when I saw the hundreds of zombies infested in and around our R.V. was to pull my sword from my waist. Lana had her gun out already.

All of a sudden we hear Kylie start crying which immediately attracted all the zombies attention.

“Run!” Eric yelled. Lana and I were in the back of the pack so we started running faster than light itself. I may be over exaggerating a little but we were running pretty damn fast. I looked back and saw hundreds of those things were right on Liam and Kylie’s tail.

I could tell that Liam was having a hard time running and holding Kylie at the same time. He looked completely out of breath. I decided he needed a break so I ran back to him, grabbed her, and continued to run.

“Lia watch out!” Harry yelled from the front of me. I turned around to see one of those things was about to grab my hair that was in a tight braid down my back.

In that moment I swear I was a long lost ninja. I had my sword in my hand. I jumped turned around and its head fell cleanly to the floor all while holding Kylie firmly. It was like the whole thing happened in slow motion.

Wow I’m good.

Harry’s POV

We were getting closer and closer to the R.V. when I noticed that something wasn’t right. Oh. My. God. They were everywhere. In the R.V., outside the R.V., and everywhere in between.

That’s when I was brought back to reality. It’s like I was completely zoned out. I didn’t hear Kylie’s cry or Eric’s yell. All I felt was Louis tugging my arm. And then all the sound came back to me. He was yelling at me to move and Kylie was crying.

I ran for my life. I looked ahead of me and saw the love of my life doing the same thing. Lia Chatsman was running through the woods ahead of me. Her dark brown hair was in a long braid behind her. Her dirtied cargo boots one after the other keeping her alive. She had her sword in her hand.

That’s when she turned around and I saw her beautiful face. She ran back and grabbed Kylie from Liam in a flash.

“What are you doing Lia?!” I yelled at her. I guess she didn’t hear me.

Blake’s POV

We just met these strangers and now we were running for our lives with them. Zombies are not what you think. Slow moving and easy to kill. No, not at all. These things were just as fast as humans, maybe even faster. They climb and kick and their bite is deadly. Which you already knew.

Then it happened. It was in slow motion. It seems like everything practically is when you are fighting for your life.

Lana was in front of me and she glanced back. I thought she was looking at me when all of a sudden she stopped dead in her tracks. We were only about a minute ahead of them so we didn’t have much time.

“Lana move!” Lia yelled at the top of her lungs. Like I said everything was in slow motion. Just image a high speed chase the you turn your DVD player on slow motion. That’s how it feels right now.

She mumbled something I couldn’t make out. Then one came straight at Lana. Everyone had to hop out of the way when it jumped into the air about to land right on top of her.

I could manage one word from her mouth right before it happened. “Anthony.” She whispered. Then it fell to the ground. It had been shot in the head.

“MOVE!” The stranger who had just saved Lana’s life said. Everyone did exactly that. We ran and now the zombies were right on our tail.

Lia’s POV

“Who are you?” I said between breaths as we ran. I was talking to the stranger who just saved Lana’s life.

“Kisa, now keep moving.” The woman said to me. I did as I was told.

Harry’s POV

I could tell Lia was getting tired with Kylie in her arms. I started to slow down so I could meet Lia I the back of the pack so I could grab Kylie. Keep in mind that everything that had just been happening was while we were running for our lives.

I was on the floor. There was dirt in my mouth and eyes.

“Harry!” Someone yelled. “Get up get up Harry! For Pete’s sake Harry get your ass up!” Lia was right next to me on the floor trying to pull me up.

I stood up when I felt my hair being grabbed. It was one of them. Lia took care of it and I grabbed Kylie from her arms once she we were up. We both continued to run when I noticed something.

I had no clue where the rest of the group was.

“Harry look! Lia yelled. She pointed to a small stone cave a couple of meters away. We had just runed a corner on the path so the zombies are about thirty seconds behind us.

If we were quick enough then we could make it without then seeing us. We ran as fast as we could and luckily we made it.

We were both breathing heavily and Kylie was crying. Lia was trying to calm her down and get her to stop. Luckily, being the good girl she is, quickly stopped so nothing would notice us.

(Ten minutes later)

It had been a good couple of minutes so I think we could stop being silent.

“What the hell?” Was the first thing Lia said to me as she slapped me across the face.

She was a girl so it didn’t hurt that bad.

“What did you say?” Lia said. Oh my god did I say that out loud? “Whatever we have biger problems then you being a sexist idiot.

“We lost the group! That is just great!” Lia said sarcastically as she started tapping her finger in the cave floor. I almost forgot we both had backpacks.

“Lia Lia! What’s in your backpack?” I asked.

“Oh I forgot about those.” She set Kylie down carefully she sat quietly. She got the backpack off and started rummaging through it.

“A flashlight.” She said as she set the item down.

“Matches.”

“A piece of gum.”

“Nail polish.”

“Ooh I was looking for this.” She said as she set down an earring.

“Lia! What do you have that’s actually helpful!” I yelled.

“Oh yeah, that’s right.” She said with a smirk on her face.

“I’ve got a walkie talkie?” She said in the form of a question.

“OH MY GOD LIA! YOU HAVE A WALKIE TALKIE! WE COULD COMMUNICATE WITH THEM! WE COULD MEET UP! WE’RE SAVED LIA! WE’RE SAVED!” I said a little too loudly.

“Would you shut it!” Lia whisper yelled at me.

“Sorry.” I apologized.

“Harry where’s Li Li?” Kylie said in her cute voice.

“Don’t worry baby girl we’ll find them soon.” I said reassuringly.

“Good because I miss Li Li.” She said, tears forming in her eyes. My heart felt like it was breaking. I picked her up and rocked her back and forth. Soon enough she was asleep. Wow she must’ve been tired.

I heard a beeping noise coming from Lia.

“Is it working?” I asked.

“Harry-“ I cut her off.

“Where are they?”

“Harry I-“

“When can we see them?” I asked, excited.

“HARRY IT’S OUT OF BATTERY!” She yelled.

No no no no no no. This isn’t happening.
