Apocalyptic Love

Ed’s POV

Niall and Kylie were in the bedroom. Liam, Zayn and Louis were in the hangout area and I was sitting here driving. I have no clue where Harry and Lia were since I haven’t seen them in ages.

Louis walked into the driving area and sat down in the passenger seat.

“Hey man.” He said.

“Hey.” I said, glancing over at him.

“You know we’re only a year apart in age.” He said.

“Wow. I thought you were like eighteen or something.”

“Nah I’m twenty one. Harry’s eighteen though.” He paused for a couple of minutes. “What’s your story?”

“What?”

“Well whenever someone new joins our little group we ask them to tell us their story. So? What’s yours?” He said keeping complete focus on me. I didn’t know what to say. “You know what? Let me drive. Maybe it’ll clear your mind a little.”

“Okay.” We switched. There’s nobody else on the road so it’s pretty easy to change drivers without actually stopping. Now I was sitting in the passenger seat thinking about what Louis asked me.

“Well this is how it all started…”

Lia’s POV

Niall and Kylie just left the bedroom so now Harry and I were alone. Harry was telling me a story about the time he found the time he found five dollars in his grandma’s bathtub. I wasn’t really paying attention to his pointless story.

There was something poking out of the little wardrobe in the corner of the room. I got up and walked over to it. It was black. By now Harry stopped talking and was looking at me.

I got over there and opened the door and it fell out. It was a guitar in a black case.

“Harry is this yours?” I asked.

“No none of us had a guitar.”

“Then it’s either those guys’ or Ed’s.” I said.

“Go ask him.”

I walked out of the room still holding the guitar in my hands. I walked all the way up to the drivers area.

There I found Ed and Louis talking but they stopped when I walked in.

“Oh my god! It’s my guitar! I thought those guys threw it out!” He jumped up and took it from me. He looked so happy. I smiled.

“Play something.” Harry said quietly.

“What? No, I’m not even that good.” He protested.

“No really. Please?” I said. “We haven’t heard music in so long.”

He seemed to think about this for a while. He pondered and pondered.

“Okay.”

We walked into the living room area. Everyone was there. Louis even pulled over the R.V. and sat down next to us.

We all looked at Ed.

“Well um. This is a song about my wife. She was pregnant and she had a miscarriage. It’s called Small Bump.” (That’s not what the song is actually about I just had to make up something) He seemed to have forced the words out. Like it actually hurt him to say that. He started singing.

When he was done singing we just sat there in silence.

“That was beautiful.” Harry said quietly. I slowly wiped the tear from my cheek. HE said he wasn’t that good. He was absolutely brilliantly amazing.

The Next Day

Lia’s POV

I fluttered my eyelids open. The light coming in from the windows was blinding. I stretched and tried not to wake up Harry who was sleeping next to me on the floor.

“Good morning beautiful.” I jumped unaware that Harry was already awake.

“Crap you scared me.” I said.

“Sorry love.” He sad lightly kissing me on the cheek. He stood up and then held out a hand to help me up. I took it and we both walked to the kitchen. I opened the pantry. There was nothing but a few dries cherries.

“We need to go on a supply run.” He said.

“There’s probably a lot more grocery stores in Illinois. Maybe we can even hit Chicago. There ought ought to be a crap load of stuff there.” I suggested.

“You’re right. There probably also a lot of killers there.” He said.

“You’re right. But what’s life without risks?” I said.

“If we take too many risks we won’t be alive to take risks.”
