Pretty Girls Hide Pain So Deep Inside

She felt like crying out rivers, but she didn't. She collected herself. She knew crying would be just as useful as apologizing. She wiped the almost dry tears from her cheeks and walked back inside.

She walked into the living room, only to find it half empty. The only ones there were Blue and Romeo.

- Hey. - She told them quietly.

Her actions didn't only have an effect on Calum. She messed up all of their lives.

- Hey. - They greeted her back.

- Where's everyone? - She asked them.

- Luke left, Ashton's in the gym with Michael and, uh, Calum's in his room... - Cody said. - With Nikki.

- Oh. - She breathed out.

She felt her heart sink the moment he said those words.

She hated herself for letting things come to this.

Tears once again started filling her eyes, but she fought with everything she had to keep them from escaping her eyes.

She started walking backwards slowly.

- It was nice seeing you again. - She told the two of them with a weak smile. - Goodbye, guys.

She turned around and headed for the door. She picked up her duffel bag from the floor.

Before Cody or Blue had a chance to say anything, Ashton came out of the gym. His blood stained shirt was now drenched with sweat.

- You're leaving? - He asked her, not particularly showing any emotion.

She stopped walking, but she wasn't facing him.

- It's pretty clear I've overstayed my welcome. - She answered.

Ashton stayed quiet for a few seconds and she was about to walk out of the apartment.

- You don't have to leave. - He muttered out.

She slowly turned to look at him. She furrowed her eyebrows at him.

- You don't hate me? - She asked him, her voice low.

He took a deep breath before speaking.

- I hate what you did, but not you. - He told her. - Never you.

He smiled weakly at her.

He wanted to be cold, but he couldn't. She's his baby sister after all.

She couldn't understand why he was being so sweet after everything she had done.
Tears slowly started escaping her eyes. She didn't have enough strength left in her to fight them.

Since the moment she walked into their apartment for the first time and told him she's his sister he's been nothing but amazing to her and she didn't think she deserved him.

- I'm so sorry. - She said trough tears. - I know apologizing won't change anything, but I really am sorry. I never meant for this to happen.

Ashton approached her and wrapped his arms around her.

- I know. - He said quietly before kissing the top of her head.

- I wanna fix this. - She said quietly. - I'm going to fix this, I promise.

He simply held her tighter in response.
