Torn

Drunk

CALLIE'S POINT OF VIEW

Tears spill out of my eyes, and I find myself constantly checking to make sure no one can see me. I notice Luke walking out of the school, heading for his car. I don't want him to see me crying if he sees me at all, so I take out my phone and tap at the black screen like I'm using it, and carefully wipe away the tears, not to mess up the mascara. Even though it's probably already smudged.

So I tap away at the screen, just barely watching Luke out of the corner of my eye. He turns his head to look back at the school, but I catch his eye. He looks away after a couple seconds, and gets in his car. He starts the engine, looks at me, and within seconds he's gone. That super simple gesture of leaving, makes me start crying again.

"You okay?" I hear Calum's voice ask behind me. I turn my head to look at him.

"Uh, yeah," He walks closer to me and sits down beside me. "just pretending to be on my phone so-"

"Luke won't see you crying." He finishes. I laugh a little and nod.

"Yeah. How pathetic is that." I sniff and smile, putting my phone back in my hoodie pocket.

"It's not pathetic at all." He says. "I mean, it makes sense. We're the only kids in this dipshit with any sense of who we are. They refer to us as the bad kids, which in other words, means we're supposed to be hard as rocks and never cry, and always have a comeback for something." He shrugs. "It's okay to cry, though." I just realized he doesn't even know WHY I'm crying.

"Uh," I look at him, "Luke broke up with me."

Calum's jaw tightens. "Why." He says seriously.

"He said he isn't stupid, and he knows that there's something going on with you and I. And apparently he can't trust me." I explain.

"That fucking idiot had no right breaking up with you." He stands up, "I'll be right back." He says, starting to walk in the direction Luke's car went.

"Where are you going?" I ask.

"To beat him up." He says simply.

I sigh, "Calum," He stops, "don't."

"Why shouldn't I?" He asks, turning to face me. "He broke up with you. In front of the entire student body."

"Well he had a reason to," I stand up, "didn't he?"

Calum slowly bites his lip, trying to figure out what to say. "I told you, I love Sara." Every time he says that I get infuriated.

"I'm not saying you don't." I walk over to him. "But it's clear we're feeling something again. Look, if Luke noticed it, Sara will to. Which means we need to stop, because I don't want Sara dumping you like Luke just did to me, and you both being all mopey and wanting to talk to me at three in the morning."

"I wouldn't do that." He rolls his eyes, but he's smiling.

"Yeah but I'd still have to be your buffer." I shrug.

"My buffer?"

"You know. Everywhere we all go I'll have to sit in between the two of you, even when that sexy guy wants to sit next to me. I'll have to pick up the conversation when it lags too, and we all know I shouldn't be the one doing that, since when I get nervous or don't know what to say I say something totally dumb and awkward and most of the time random." I laugh, and he does too.

"Okay. One, who is this sexy guy who wants to sit with you every where we go?" He laughs, and I smile. "And two, yeah maybe, but it's cute when you say dumb, awkward stuff."

I bite my lip. "It is?"

"Yeah." He smiles down at me. I laugh, mostly because everytime I say something dumb I hate my self for it.

"Okay, so, I think if you actually want to stay with Sara, we need to stop everything. Like, cut it all off completely."

"How so?" He asks.

"Well first of all, the compliments have to stop. We should probably delete the videos of each other on our phones, make sure we aren't left in a room alone together-"

"That's insane Callie." Calum interrupts.

"Maybe." I shrug, "But I don't want your relationship becoming fucked up because of me." I look at my feet. "So yeah." I look back up at him. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow." I say.

"Callie!" Sara comes running towards us, and just in case I take a step away from Calum, even when in reality we weren't that close. He notices this, and looks at me with hurt. I ignore it. "I'm so sorry about Luke, he was SO wrong, I mean, you guys are just friends." She frowns. She looks at Calum for confirmation, but he doesn't do anything. "I mean," She looks at me this time, "Right?"

"Uh- y-yeah. We're completely, absolutely, just..." I look at Calum sadly, "Friends."

"Yeah. Anyway, he was totally out of line." She says. I give her a small smile.

"Uhm. Well, if you'll excuse me, I have some things to delete from my phone." I look at Calum and walk away, just barely holding my breath.

CALUM'S POINT OF VIEW

"S-So Calum.." Sara says, once Callie is gone. I look at her. "I know I've already asked but.. Are you sure you don't still have a thing with Callie? I mean. I won't be mad."

I gulp. "Yeah no, like she said." I bite my lip, "Just friends."

SARA'S POINT OF VIEW

Liar.

"Okay good." I smile at him.

MICHAEL'S POINT OF VIEW

I open the door to a teary Callie. I've only seen her cry twice. When Calum broke up with her, and when her favorite skateboard broke. It literally snapped in half, it was awful.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"I'm starting to move on." She says, her voice wavering. I frown.

"Oh Callie." I hug her.

"And Luke dumped me." She adds.

"What?!" I yell, and pull back.

"Because he noticed Calum and I's chemistry, I guess."

"Aw, I'm sorry." I frown.

She shrugs, "It's fine. I think he might've been my rebound anyway."

"Well, do you want to go get drunk with Morgan and me?" I ask, and she laughs.

"If I wouldn't be third wheeling to much, sure." She smiles.

"Not at all-"

"Hey loser, are you coming with us?" Morgan asks, walking down the hall and putting her converse on.

"Yeah." Callie says.

"Cool, try to stop me after three."

"Why?" Callie asks.

"Because drunken sex with Mikey is the hottest, and I want to remember it in the morning." She shrugs. My face turns pink. Morgan looks at me, and smiles, "It was a compliment." She turns to the door, "Let's go, I'm bored." So we all walk out to my car. Callie gets in the back, and lies down on the seats, on her phone. Morgan and I start talking about our favorite drinks, when Callie sits up, staring at her phone in surprised shock.

"What?" I ask.

CALLIE'S POINT OF VIEW

Calum: Maybe it's just to hard to get over each other.

"What?" Michael asks. My face is going numb.

"Uh-" I look at them, "N-No nothing. They just came out with another gum flavor." I lie. They start talking about gum.

Me: What are you saying?
Calum: Maybe instead of cutting ourselves off from each other, we just treat every situation like we're related. Because there is no way in hell not seeing you will make me stop thinking about you.

I bite my lip.

Me: Okay.
Calum: Okay.
Calum: So what're you doing?
Me: I'm going to get drunk with Michael and Morgan.
Calum: Oh god. Make sure you have money for a cab, because they're going to disapear an hour into it to go fuck each other.
Me: Lmao, where do they even go all the time?
Calum: Pretty sure they just walk around until they find the place where the least amount of people are.
Me: cx Probably. Ugh I can't even imagine having sex in public.

I look over at Morgan. She's looking at Michael with just pure admiration. It's so cute.

Calum: I know right. Oml.

Calum and I just text like friends would, until we get to the club. The strobe lights are having an effect on everyone else, besides us. We're used to this sort of thing. We sit at the bar for a little while, until Morgan gets to her second drink. She turns to Michael.

"Dance?" He looks at her hesitantly. "Come on," She grabs his hand and stands up, "Don't be such a wimp." I hear, before they disappear into the crowd of people. I look into my glass. I can tolerate like.. Four to six before I get completely insane and the alcohol takes over my brain. I'm on my fourth. I remember Cal's text about him not being able to get over me so easily.

"Hey can I have another one?" I ask the bartender. She nods, and hands one to me.

"You here alone?" She asks.

"My friends are over there, grinding on each other." I laugh. She laughs too.

"I'm Erica." She smiles.

"Callie." I smile back.

MORGAN'S POINT OF VIEW

I grind on Michael, his grasp on my hips becoming tighter every second. I look back at him, his head is tipped back, his eyes squinting. He's biting his lip so hard it's near to bleeding. I smirk, and stop, but the second I do, he pulls me back into him, growling hot air into my ear, "Don't you even think of stopping now, baby girl."

CALLIE'S POINT OF VIEW

"So are you seeing anybody?" Erica asks, cleaning a glass.

"Technically no. It's complicated I guess." I giggle because of the alcohol.

"I could be your rebound." She suggests.

"Huh?"

"Well I mean, if they aren't here."

"Wait. Are you lesbian?"

"Bi." She shrugs. "But I could take your mind off of him, and it wouldn't have to mean anything." She smiles at me. I blink, for some reason debating this.

CALUM'S POINT OF VIEW

It's like three in the morning, when I lazily answer the door. Standing in front of me, looks a very lost Callie.

"What are you doing here?" I ask. She's probably really drunk by now.

"I think I just had sex with a girl." She says, looking at me confused. I start laughing, and she laughs a little bit too, until I return to my question.

"But what are you doing here?" For some reason I can't get the image of her fucking another girl out of my head.

"It was really fun, I suddenly understand guys." She slurs. She will not be remembering this in the morning.

"Well, that's good." I laugh, not sure what to say.

"She said that it would get my mind off of you." She says, a bit wobbly. She takes a step toward me. "It didn't." She's now looking up at me. I gulp. "It really broke me when you decided I suddenly wasn't good enough, and that you like Sara instead... I haven't gone a day without thinking of your hands," She takes my hand, and puts in on her waist, under her shirt. "on my skin." She pauses, looking at me and my hesitation, "Or how you always knew how to kiss me, and how they were never the same. Like every kiss, was something new to us." She's inches away from my face, my hand still under her shirt. "Or how you'd moan my name." She whispers, staring at my lips intensely. "Or how you'd do everything like any second now it could be ripped away from you." She whispers. "And I mean everything." she slightly smiles. I bite my lip. I haven't been this turned on in two years. "Or how pain just made you want more." She whispers, two inches away from my lips."Or how every single time you touch me, it feels like you've been craving it." My mind reminds me of Sara, and of Callie being drunk, and take a step away from her, taking my hand out from under her shirt, as much as I don't want too. She doesn't seem effected be that gesture. "The whole time I was with that girl I couldn't stop fantasizing about if it was you." She says.

I put my hands on her waist, then realize in the state she's in, and how horny she is right now, it probably isn't the best idea, and take my hands off of her all together, "You're drunk." I remind her.

"This isn't me being drunk, I think about this every fucking day." She says calmly.

"I'm with Sara." I say instead.

"You don't have to be." She mumbles.

"What?" I ask.

"I made you happier." She says, pretty confident about it. I don't confirm it, but I don't deny it either. I can't send her home like this, especially with everything she's talking about, and Sara being there.

"What happened to Mike and Morgan?" I ask her.

"They left hours ago." She says, still looking at my lips. I obviously can't call Luke, or Jess. Ashton is dating Jess so that wouldn't work. I mentally sigh. Looks like this is up to me.

"Okay, come on." Instead of grabbing her hand or arm, I just gesture for her to follow me. I take her into the living room. "You can sleep on the couch." I say.

"Why not your room?" She frowns, and slurs.

"Because Sara spends the night a lot," Callie rolls her eyes, "and she'll know if you were there." I feel like I should have others reasons, but I don't. This is why people call me a douche, huh?

"I don't wanna sleep." She frowns.

"I know."

"What do you think would happen if I kissed you a lot and took off my shirt?" She giggles, and pulls up a few inches of her shirt.

"Sara would dump me and never speak to you again." I answer simply, putting her shirt back down.

"But if we did." She walks closer to me, "It would be so bad." She whispers, trailing a finger down my chest. I bite my lip.
