‘’Does everyone like it?’’ Kris asks. We had been enjoying the amazing food for about ten minutes now. No one was talking, a sign that it was good. ‘’Yeah.. its amazing.’’ Kylie says as she covers her mouth, a light laugh afterwards. Kris just smiles before continuing to eat.

Lily was bored out of her little mind, I knew this because she was quiet and calm. She was playing with my hair. I had her standing on my thigh, the front of her body against my chest as she props her chin on my shoulder. She was so cute and the way she would just make herself comfortable on me just made me smile.

I was so busy thinking about Lily, and trying to make sure my hand was securely on her back, in which it was for sure, that I didn’t notice Kendall was talking to me. ‘’Harry. Harry.. Harry.’’ She calls over and over until finally, I answer.

‘’Yeah?’’ I say as I glance over at her. ‘’Um.. didn’t you hear me? Your phone beeped a few times.’’ She says. ‘’Oh.. sorry, I was zoned out. Just thinking of.. something.’’ I sigh as I look down at my other leg, the one Lily wasn’t standing on. I see that my phone was lite up and I had a few new messages, all from Katie.

I unlocked my phone and turned the volume down, I didn’t want to just take it out and be completely obnoxious, I wanted to show some respect for the people I was around. I kept it on my leg though as I opened the messages. I read them before typing in my reply. And I realized that I haven’t heard it in a while… because it’s a lot of messages from an hour or so. And it sorta hurt me that I didn’t see them..

7:43pm:
Katie: Sorry to bother you but I put your change back in the drawer.

7:50pm:
Katie: I’m making your cake :)

7:52pm:
Katie: I bought extra sprinkles just in case.

8:07pm:
Katie: When are you coming home? Just wondering..

8:13pm:
Katie: Um. Is Kendall staying too? Just wondering again..

8:19pm:
Katie: How’s Lily? Are you guys coming home soon?

8:24pm:
Katie: The cake’s almost done. About ten more minutes.

8:31pm:
Katie: Is it okay if I stay tomorrow night too? Trent is um.. being a little moody and all.

8:43pm:
Katie: I know you’re probably busy and won’t take the time to read these.. but I really appreciate you letting me stay here Harry. It means the world to me.

8:54pm:
Katie: I’ll leave you alone. I guess since you’re not replying... you’re probably having a nice time or whatever.. With Kendall and all.

9:00pm:
Katie: I might head to bed soon.. your cake's in the fridge. I know you like it cold.

But soon, after letting the guilt sink in, I reply to all of her messages.

Me: Okay. And yay, I like sprinkles. I’ll be home soon. No, she might stay a while but she won’t stay overnight I don’t think. Lily’s fine, she’s getting a little sleepy. I’ll be home soon, I promise. Thanks for the cake! And Yay! I can’t wait to eat it, I haven’t had it in forever! Yes, you can stay whenever you want to, you know that. Trust me I’m never too busy for you. And its an honor to me to have you over. You’re welcomed any time. And no, actually its sorta bad, I’ll explain later on. I’ll wake you when I’m home, after I call you of course, just like I said I would. And okay, thanks love. I can’t wait to eat some of it!! We’ll be home soon, okay? Love you ♥

‘’This cake is amazing, Mom!’’ Kim says as she continues to eat the cheesecake. It was pretty good, Lily was liking it too as she ate it off my finger. ‘’Lily isn’t sleepy yet?’’ Kendall laughs lightly. ‘’She’s forcing her self to keep her little eyes open.’’ I reply.

‘’I still can’t get over those eyes. I’m going to have to meet with you guys again, just so I can see her! She’s adorable.’’ Kim says. ‘’Dada.’’ Lily mumbles as she pushes my finger away from her face, a sign that she didn’t want anymore of the cake.

She starts to get fussy with me. She wasn’t being my little angel anymore. ‘’Dada!’’ She whines out as she pouts her little lips out. She was pissed about something, but I wasn’t sure what.

Kendall suddenly gags lightly as she covers her mouth. ‘’Are you okay?’’ Kris asks her concerned. She laughs in her hand before nudging me with her elbow and point at Lily. ‘’What?’’ I ask, raising my eyebrows. And just then, Lily started crying like crazy for no reason, I think?

‘’Oh, what’s wrong with her?’’ Kim says as I stand her up on my leg so that she was facing me. ‘’Baby.. what’s wrong?’’ I ask, she doesn’t stop crying. I lean her against my shoulder as she continues to cry and I rub her back lightly, I had no idea what was going on with her.

‘’Oh dear Lord.’’ Kris says with a laugh as she stands up and chuckles lightly to herself. ‘’Harry.’’ Kendall laughs out. ‘’What?’’ I ask, confused so much. ‘’She.. needs.. to be.. changed!’’ Kendall laughs out again as she props her elbow on the table, covering her face with her hand.

I smile gently as I stand up and grab Lily’s bag. ‘’You outta know that she doesn’t do well with icing.’’ Kendall reminds me and it clicks, she doesn’t cope with cheesecake at all. I’m so fucking stupid. I’m the worst dad ever. Worst.

‘’Cheesecake and that baby’s stomach do not mix.’’ Kendall tells her mom as I exit the kitchen and make my way to the car. I’d rather change her in the backseat than going out and about through Kris’s house.

But thankfully, I knew why she was being a little moody in the past few minutes. And thankfully, I can fix it. I hope.
