Good Intentions

Ch 24

LILY’S POV

I sit at the table and make a list of everything we need in town. I really want to go into town with him but I’m unsure if he will let me go. Meg also needs to get out and see some of her friends. The bad weather didn’t happen as predicated and it should be fine for her to go to a friends house for an evening. I decide to just give him the list and recommend that Meg be dropped at one of her friends for a night.

It’s not that I don’t trust them, everything is going so well. It’s just being a mom and worrying that something will happen and I wont be there.

Jim arrives for lunch and I discuss the plans with him before I ever tell Meghan, I would hate for her to get her hopes up and not be able to go. He sits and listens and tells me Meghan does need a break and to finalize the plans.
He hands me the phone and I make a call to the Miller’s house and tell them the plan. They are always so thrilled for Meghan to come over. Zoe Is the only girl in a house with five brothers. Girl time is precious to her.

I call Meghan to the kitchen about the time Will walks in the door, kicking the snow off his boots. I tell her the plans and she is all but jumping up and down. She runs back to her room and starts packing.

I get lunch put on the table and the men sit down to eat.

I was actually surprised Will was able to get up and go to work. It just shows what a good kid he really is.
He doesn’t say too much but that’s fine, from what I understand most boys don’t, Jim certainly doesn’t.
After they finish I watch as they head back out. Jim wrote a list of things for Will to do tomorrow while he’s gone. He’ll probably show him what he needs and expects before the sun goes down

Notes

Since the last chapter was kind of short I decided to add this one.

The next one is long and is quite the humm dinger so . . . . take a seat tonight ;)
