Rose's POV
Michael has been trying to call me since yesterday, and just like every other time, I ignore it. I know why he's calling me. I've been avoiding Luke and he's making Michael call me to ask me why. I just can't look at Luke without feeling guilty.
"He's furious, you know?" I hear Lilac's voice
"I would figure as much" I mutter
"Talk to him. If not he'll figure out you're hiding something from him" she advises me
"It's too late for that. Michael texted me saying Luke thinks something is up" I say, in a tone showing her that I knew I have nothing to lose from this.
"What are you trying to do? Because from my understanding, you are trying to get yourself killed" she tells me what I already know.
"I can't just see him again knowing I am hiding something like this from him, Lilac" I say, my eyes shutting in annoyance
"He'll understand! It wasn't your fault and if you think it was, than Viper got what he wanted" she says, and just by the mention of his name, goosebumps find their way onto my arms and neck.
"I'm going out" I say, getting up from my bed and pushing past Lilac.

I knew she was right. Shutting out my feelings will never work, but it was my last resort. Being in the gang and having to deal with everything from my past is so much to handle and simply not caring anymore was easy for me to do. It took the pain away. However, I did this back in California and it didn't do me any good. I almost lost it when I allowed my feelings to flood back, and it was not a pretty sight by any means.
I guess I just saw how Ashton, Luke, Michael, and Calum were when they didn't have their emotions in-tacked, and I thought it would have been easier, but it just delays the pain. When they do come back, it's like a slap in the face from reality.
That being said, I didn't expect to spend the rest of my night at a bar, let alone be drunk off my ass, dancing rather inappropriately with a complete stranger, but hey, nobody expects half the things that happen to them in their life.
"You're beautiful" the guy says into my ear
"Thanks" I say, though I'm sure it didn't sound anything like a thank you with my slur.
"Maybe we should get out of here" he says and I nod, not thinking about anything further than right now, and definitely not thinking about a certain someone.
What I didn't know was the baiter just got baited.
Luke's POV
I couldn't fucking take it anymore. I needed to get my mind off of Rose's silent treatment that came out of nowhere. Making, my way to the bar, I hear faint cries, but the sound of a guy trying to silence them were more evident. Honestly, I couldn't care less about the girl, considering she probably asked for it, but when I hear the guy say Rose's name, I walk towards it, hoping it wasn't her. However, I see the girls face, and even though her face is stained with make up from the crying, I can recognize her face anywhere. The question going through my mind was what happened to get her in this situation.
"Let her go" my voice was deep and threatening, making Rose look at me before averting her eyes down to the ground
"This is between me and her, not you, now leave" the guy says, only feeding my rage
"I said let her go. Unless you want to die tonight" I say as I reveal my gun that is secured to my waist.
"I don't think you understand what she did to me" the guy growls, tugging on her hair, and she lets out a squeal of pain.
"I think I do. She teased you while she didn't realize she had someone she could've went to, and now she doesn't want to go further" I explain, my eyes like daggers staring at him.
"No, she did something worth feeling the pain for. I'm sure she knows what I'm talking about, though" he says
"Viper, don't" she warns, her voice strained
"What's wrong Rose?" he asks, faking a tone of sympathy. I took this chance to pull my gun out and shoot Viper's foot, making him fall down, removing Rose from his grip, and she automatically runs to me
"Fucking bitch!" Viper yells, clutching onto his foot, blood staining his hands as he does so.
"Definitely hurts like a bitch doesn't it?" I ask sarcastically
"Bad move you fucker" some guy came out from the back door of the bar.
"What the hell did you just call me?" I grit my teeth in anger
"Luke, just let it go" Rose says from my side, but I think we both know that wasn't going to happen
"Rose, shut up" I say, hoping she was drunk enough to forget about it.
"You're gonna get it Rose. I swear you and you fucking bitch of a sister will regret leaving" The other guy says
"Go near them and you'll regret it, you asshole" I hiss before leaving, Rose's hand firmly in my grip.

When we get to Rose's house, she sneaks past Lilac like she's done it a million times before, but once the door closes behind us, she sinks to the ground, tears falling from her cheeks
"You're feeling bad now huh? After everything happened" I say, venom not being missed as I said so
"Will you act like you care for one fucking second?! I'm not losing my shit because I got drunk and went with some dude. I'm losing it because those guys are here! That was Nick and his fucking friend" she says, and I immediately regret saying that to her. I crouch down onto my knees so I am able to comfort her, wrapping my arms around her small frame.
"I got you. It's okay" I try to soothe her.
"No" she mumbles "It's not going to be okay. They're going to hurt me and Lilac" she says, fear in her voice
"Not while the guys and I are standing. We're not going to let them lay a fucking finger on you" I say hearing her sniffle
"Rose?" I ask, my voice soft
"Hm" she says
"What was he talking about earlier?" I ask and I immediately feel her stiffen from my question
"N-nothing" she stutters, moving away from me as she wipes the remaining tears from her eyes
"Rose, you need to talk to me" I plead
"The whole Nick thing wasn't the main reason why Lilac and I left" she says after a few moments of silence.
"Than what was?" I push
"Luke, please don't make me say it" she begs
"Rose, I need to know what happened so I can have more of a reason to hate him. Please tell me something" I tell her
"He blames me. He did it but he told me I was the reason it happened" she says, and I know she is thinking back to whatever memory appeared in her mind.
"For what, Rose?" I ask, my patience wearing thin.
"I was pregnant" she says "It was his. I didn't even know the gender of the baby. Viper beat me when he found out, and the baby died" she manages to get out before she begins to cry again "When I told him, I thought he would've gotten off my back about it, but he was furious, saying I should've been more careful. He acted like I didn't care about it, but I did. I didn't care that the dad was an asshole, I just thought I would've gotten away in time to raise it by myself. I guess Nick found out and he threatened to make both Lilac and me regret messing with them, whatever that meant. We knew the consequences of leaving the state, let alone the country, but we just wanted to get out of there. Now they're here and I know something bad could happen-" I stop her rambling
"Nothing is going to happen. I already told you" I say and she sighs "Why didn't you tell me before?" I ask
"I thought you wouldn't want me anymore when you found out I carried another guy's baby" she says
"You were raped and he is a fucking asshole, Rose. I'm not going to leave because of that. I love you." I say
"I love you too" she gives me a faint smile
"I'll see you tomorrow, alright. Ashton wants me back so we can prepare for tomorrow's meeting" I say and she nods, though I know she wants me to stay just as much as I do.
"Alright" she says

"So, some fucker thinks he can threaten them?" Ashton growls, the vein that pops out of his forehead when he's angry evident by now.
"Yeah, and we need to make sure they know who we are" I say
"That won't be a problem" Calum smirks
"Yeah, we're the most fucking feared gang in this country anyways" Michael agrees.
"Glad we're on the same page" I say.
I know Rose will try to murder my ass when she finds out I told the guys but I'm doing this for her own good, and I am going to make sure Viper and Nick know who they're messing with because shit is about to happen.
