Rose's POV
Not telling your sister that the danger found its way to us is something I wish I didn't have to do. Some might think she would be better off knowing about it but I saw how she was when he was still in her life, and even though she has Ashton now, I feel like she'll fall right back to her old ways and try to find a light in a pit of darkness that is known as Nick.
Knowing that I can't show my fear of stepping foot outside, since Lilac knows when something is up just by the way that I take a breath, I am forced to live my life like any other day in a town that I am still getting used to.
"Lilac, I'm headed to the store! We need more food or I'll starve to death" I call in the direction that her room is in
"Alright!" she replies and with that I am out the door, my phone and wallet in my hands.
Luke has been like a hawk watching over me since last night, and I guess it's a good thing. I wasn't able to get much sleep last night, thinking Viper would appear to finish what he started at the bar. Every so often my phone would vibrate, and each time it would be Luke asking how I was doing or if I needed him for anything.
The fact that Viper can hurt me at any time now frightens me, a fear I thought I left behind. He ruined everything I had in California and now he is going to ruin this life too.

"Rose, come on, we're having fun" Viper pouts, but I wasn't buying it, too focused on getting away from him
"Your version of fun differs greatly from mine if you haven't noticed" I say, but before I am able to leave his presence, he grabs my arm harshly, pulling me back until my back hit his chest.
"Just let go before you regret it, Rose" he says my name in a venom filled tone
"Viper, please stop. I had enough" I say as my mind goes to the baby he doesn't yet know I'm carrying.
"Why? Because you don't want to lose a fucking baby I had no clue about?" he asks, my eyes widening by the end of his sentence
"I didn't th-" I stutter before he cuts me off
"What made you think I wouldn't find out?! Huh?! You didn't think Nick would fucking track you and your sister so we know what our girls are up to" his voice raises, a tone making me want to cower away from him. When I stay quiet, he shakes his head, a smirk playing on his face.
"You know, none of this would've happened if you weren't such a fucking idiot!" he yells, and even though my first intention was to yell right back, I knew the consequences for doing so.
"I'm sorry. It's not like I asked for this to happen" I say, my voice shaky as I fix my eyes to the ground
"Than let me make it so it never happened" he says, before his fist made contact with my cheek, making me fall to the ground in a matter of seconds.

Wiping the tears that escaped my eyes, I shake the scene that continues to haunt me from my mind. I wasn't going to lie and say that I didn't have a crush on him before the whole thing happened. I did, mainly because he had the same charm that Nick had. The charm that knocks you off you feet before showing their true colors after the rainbows and butterflies fade away. Than, he acted so cold that I didn't even recognize the person that I met a few months before.
"You look lost" a voice makes me jump, in turn shaking me from my thoughts. Relief washes over me when I see it was Luke.
"You scared me to death" I say, smacking his arm
"Actually you're still alive, so I didn't" he says, smiling as he is happy with his smart ass response
"Shut up" I grumble, making him chuckle.
"I would ask what got you so jumpy, but..." he trails off, knowing not to bring up the events of last night
"Yeah, well I don't think jump would explain it. I would say scared shitless is a better description" I say
"Have you told Lilac?" he asks
"No. I know she is with Ash, but she is unpredictable. Plus, Nick was her first love, and fucked up as that may sound. I'm scared she'll do something she'll regret" I tell him
"You sure have little hope in your sister" he says
"When it comes to Nick, I have no hope" I correct
"Well, that isn't nice now is it, Rosey" I hear the one voice I never thought would haunt me outside of my dreams again. I turn to find Nick, Viper standing beside him, his foot wrapped.
"You know me, Nick, never one to be the nice one. We both know that was Lilac" I say, holding Luke back before he could take a step, knowing he will try something.
"True, but I just thought you had more of a soft side" he smirks
"You thought wrong" I snap
"Not what Viper told me" I glance to Viper, who was just looking every but Luke.
"Well, this was a nice chat but not nice enough to stay" Luke says, not trying to sound convincing in the slightest before tugging my arm so we could leave
"You better watch out when it comes to her. She can attract more attention than you might think" I hear Nick say
"Oh, I know. She is the baiter for the gang anyways" Luke says and the second the word 'gang' left his lips, the two froze
"And unless you want to be our next target, I suggest leaving my girl the fuck alone" he hisses before leaving the two alone.
"I told you I'm not anyone's property" I say
"You are when it comes to those fuckers" he grumbles, and I couldn't help but smile at how rattled up he is from sticking up for me.

Not the best chapter by any means but I hope you all liked it. I mainly just wanted to add the flashback and the rest probably wasn't the best, but I will probably go back later, depending on the feedback that I might get :) thxx to those who enjoy this story and I will update soon. Love u guys Xx
