Lilac's POV (Surprise!!)
When we got back to the alley that has become Rose and my second home, Rose didn't seem as shaken as she was on her first assignment, but she didn't seem proud of what she did either. I manage to sneak away from Ashton and make my way towards my sister, who is at Luke's side, his arm draped over her shoulder.
"Mind if I speak to my sister alone?" I ask, but I don't wait for a response as I tug her away, not missing the growl that escaped Luke's mouth as I did so.
"What's wrong?" Rose asks, her eyes narrowing in worry
"Nothing, but I think I should be asking you that question" I say, and her eyes avert to the ground before she answers
"I'm fine" she mumbles
"You sure? You killed someone else tonight and the Rose I know would be devastated that she did something like that" I tell her
"Well, that Rose is gone" she snaps "I'm done being the innocent and harmless Rose. That's the girl who got us here in the first place!" she raises her voice, tears brimming her eyes.
"That doesn't mean you have to stop caring" I push
"Either I do that or I'm dead. Nothing you would know, considering Ashton is too protective to make you do anything for this gang" she spat
"That's not fair. I tried to contribute, but I almost died!" I get defensive
"Well you shouldn't have blown your cover" she says before speeding up her pace so she could get back to Luke.
I watch as she does so, knowing full well that she is not the sister I grew to know.
Rose's POV
"What was that about?" Luke asks as I get back to his side.
"Nothing" I mumble, still angry that Lilac thinks I can't hold my own
"It doesn't seem like nothing" he tells me
"Just drop it Luke" I warn him
He suddenly grabs my arm and pulls me from the rest of the group, and I know he is angry by the fact that I tried to give him and order.
Oh well.
"Listen" he says through gritted teeth "I don't fucking care that you are getting better, you're still at the bottom with your sister in this rank so watch what you say to me" he growls, pinning me to the wall
"What a way to treat me huh?" I fake a smile before removing myself from his grip and walking away.
"Rose!" he pulls me back, his stomach meeting my back forcefully
"Don't start with this. I am telling you this because Ashton will do much worse than yell at you if you give him an order like that. Shit like that doesn't just fly over his head and you know damn well that's true" he says
"I'm just not in the mood to talk, Luke. I just murdered some creep and I don't feel any fucking remorse. Do you know how much that scares me?" I ask, trying hard not to show him that I regret what I did with my body language
"I can only imagine." he says before giving me a quick peck on the lips "Come on, we're falling behind" he says before walking ahead of me, leaving me there for a moment until I follow him.

I hear Lilac close the door to our apartment considering she stayed behind after I left. I just didn't feel like staying and have everyone congratulate me on my 'success'.
"Rose, we need to talk about earlier" I hear her say, her voice soft, almost cautious.
"No, we don't." I say getting up to face her "I'm going to bed" I say
"This isn't a good thing to do, you know. Shutting out your feelings" she informs me
"Thanks for your concern, but I don't need it. I can handle things on my own" I tell her
"You know full well this doesn't work. You already tried it before" she reminds me
"This time I know what I'm doing" I say, trying to turn around to head to my room but her voice causes me to halt.
"I don't know what you're angry at me for but we're sisters, Rose, and we should be able to tell each other what's wrong" she says, playing the dreaded sister card on me.
"Really? You don't get why I'm angry?" I laugh bitterly "Every time we have some freaking gang meeting, you always go to Ashton, and we both know damn well that he treats you like shit! What fucking boyfriend doesn't give a crap about their girlfriends sister? I see the way he talks to you too. It's quite funny how some things never change huh?" I say, venom dripping as I say those words.
"Oh like Luke doesn't treat you the same as Ashton treats me! I saw the way he was talking to you earlier, and let me say that it is worse than Ashton's actions" she says
"Didn't we leave California to walk away from everything? Why did this happen?" I ask, running my fingers through my hair in frustration
"I guess were just destined to stay in the darkness. Luke and Ashton just make it evident that were staying" she shrugs, our argument seeming pointless now/
"I'm going to sleep" I say quickly before turning around
"You didn't tell Luke the main reason we left, did you?" she asks before I make it to my bedroom door.
"No" I say, not turning around, refusing to face her and her disappointed stare.
"You have to tell him soon" she says
"Not yet. Things are started to feel real between us. I'll tell him soon, but not now" I say before disappearing into my room. Luke can't know the reason yet. He will be fucking furious when he knows, but I guess it will be alright knowing we're alright right now.

OOOOHHHHHHH something is about to go down!!! I don't know when you guys will be reading this but hopefully by than I added new characters since new people are coming into this story!! I am so excited! So, what do you guys think Rose is hiding from Luke? And how did we feel about Lilac's POV? I decided to add it since Lilac's side of the story hasn't really been added :) Thxx to the ones who commented on the last update! It was one of the reasons why I updated faster :) Love u guys Xx
