Rose's POV
Calum and Michael left as they followed Luke and Ashton out of the diner. The two look behind them and give my sister and I an apologetic smile before Luke and Ashton shove them to look ahead of them. Something makes me feel like they aren't that bad, but then again, I thought the same thing before and it didn't end well.

I woke up in the morning, rubbing my eyes before they finally focus and I stand up, my feet feeling the cold floor as they make contact which each other. I look into Lilac's room and I see her still fast asleep. I decide to leave her alone and make us both coffee. Once it is brewing, I make some toast but when I look in the fridge to get some jam, I notice we need to go to the store and get some more things.
"Are you making coffee?" Lilac asks tiredly as she walks into the kitchen.
"Yeah, but we need to get some more things though. There's basically nothing in here" I say as I shut the fridge.
"I can go into town today" she offers as she ties her hair in a messy bun
"Do you need me to go with you?" I ask, but she shakes her head
"No, it's fine. I think I can do it myself" she says and I nod, understanding her decision. I pour two cups of coffee and hand her hers, earning a 'thank you' before we both take a sip from our cups.
"Well, I should go get ready so I can get going" she says once she finishes her cup
"Ok" was all I say before she walks back into her room to change.
When she gets out she is wearing something casual but her make-up makes it look like she is going on a date or something.
"I'll be back" she says before grabbing money and leaving out the door.
Lilac's POV
As I walk to the store, considering I don't have a car, I look at my surroundings to make sure I don't get lost when I make my way back to the apartment. When I get there, I notice a familiar figure looking around, Calum. I walk up to him to get answers from what happened yesterday with Luke and his cute friend Ashton who makes himself seem like he is some jerk, but I know there is more to his story.
"Hey Calum" I chirp, sounding more perky than I should have. He turns around and his eyes widen like he isn't supposed to talk to me or something.
"Hey Lilac, look I can't talk right now" he says quickly
"I just wanted to ask what all of that was yesterday at the diner" I say, stopping him in his tracks
"Well, Ashton and Luke wanted us to get somewhere and they aren't much of the waiting kind." he explains
"Oh, well, do you mind helping me with my groceries" I ask, hoping he could help
"I don't think that's a good-" he starts but I cut him off
"Please" I pout my lips and he chuckles before giving in and nodding
"Thanks" I say and hug him, making him stiffen
"Are you okay? You are acting strange" I notice
"Yeah, but can we make this quick. Ashton is waiting for me" he says
"Sure, he could join us if he wants to" I say, even though he did make his first impression a bad one, it would be interesting having him tag along.
"I don't think he would be happy with that" he says
"Why not?" I ask, pushing the subject
"Can we just hurry up!" he snaps, making me jump "Sorry, it's just he wouldn't like to" he apologizes
"It's fine, I could do this myself if you need to get to Ashton" I say, not sure if I made the right decision anymore.
"Yeah, okay. Sorry, I will see you around" he says before rushing off. Well that was strange.
Ashton's POV
I impatiently wait for Calum to get out of the stupid store before I finally spot him carrying a single bag in his hand.
"What the fuck took you so long?" I hiss
"I was talking to someone" he shrugs
"Who would even acknowledge us in the first place?" I ask
"That girl from yesterday, Lilac" he says and right when he says her name, I freeze. Why would he talk to her?
"You stay away from her" I snap and his eyes are full of confusion
"Why should I-" he starts but I rudely cut him off
"That's an order!" I yell before snatching the bag from his hand and walking off. He follows shortly behind me and when I turn around, I see Lilac walking out of the store, bags in her hands. When she looks my way, I wink at her, making her blush. I don't know the feeling that is taking over me. I only hook up with someone and leave the next day so I won't get attached, but she is different in a way. When I look forward, I see Calum staring at me
"What?" I ask, like nothing happened
"You have a soft spot for her don't you" he says, and I hate how he sees that.
"I don't have a soft spot for anybody, now mind your own business" I snap and he wipes the grin from his face before we head back with Luke and Michael. Lilac never left my mind the entire time.

Lilac's POV
I walk into the apartment before placing the groceries on the table. I can't stop thinking about Ashton and how he looked so mad at Calum before I exited the store, and how his mood changed once he saw me in his view. It isn't possible for him to like me though. He seems like those guys who doesn't stay with a girl for long, and I want to be with someone who won't leave when they get bored of me, but there is something about him that makes me drawn to him, and I don't think that will change.
