Rose's POV
I ended up getting home late after my date with Luke and Lilac kept asking questions on where I've been and who I was with, but since I was dead tired, I ignored her and went straight to my room. Now, two days later, Ashton called Lilac, letting her know that this time we have an actual problem and it needs to be taken care of.
In all honesty, I am scared beyond belief. I am in no means a killer. I can't even hurt a measly bug without feeling bad, and considering that in this plan, I'm supposed to be the one to lead them to being hurt, it doesn't set well in my stomach.
I walk out of the room that the guys told me to change in, wearing a floral crop top and black high waisted shorts. When I see the guys, Luke's eyes are locked on mine and I try my hardest not to blush in front of everybody.
"Alright, I put on what you told me, now can you tell me what I am supposed to do?" I ask, a little annoyed.
"I would like to know too, actually" Luke says, enjoying my outfit a little too much for my liking.
"Okay. So, little Rose here is going to... persuade, I guess you could say, a guy to follow her to a spot that I will give you directions to through this earpiece. That way you could hear me and I could hear you" he says, holding it up briefly before tossing it to me.
"How is she going to do that exactly?" Luke intervenes
"Well, being the cute little ass that she is, that will work in itself" Ashton says, a smirk playing on his face.
"And why can't Lilac do that?" I question, gesturing to my sister who is wrapped in his arms, not saying anything about what is being discussed
"I am not about to let some asswipe lay a finger on her, at least without being kicking his ass afterwards.
"Which is what you're going to do anyways" I point out.
"Actually, I want that son of a bitch to die up close and personally, so Michael over here is going to do the honors." Ashton says, using his free hand to pat Michael on the back. I look at Michael with concern in my eyes, but he doesn't seem like the same nice guy I met in the diner. He looks like he is going to do whatever it takes to kill the guy we're going after today and that scared me to think that his mood could change in a fraction of a second.
"I'm still not on board with this" Luke growled to Ashton.
"Just get over it, Hemmings. Rose obviously hates you so don't even try to act like this will help your case" Ashton hisses "There is nothing going on between you, right?" he adds
"No" I say quickly "I can do it" I say, but Luke looks at me, almost as if he was saying 'Go through with this and nothing good will come out of it' but I shrug it off. I can't risk the guys and Lilac knowing, at least not yet.
"That's a good girl" Ashton says before removing his arm from Lilac's shoulder and helping me set up the earpiece.
"Can I have a minute alone with Rose for a second?" Luke asks, his voice cold as he stares me dead in the eyes, causing me to gulp down the lump in my throat
"You aren't helping with the case between you two, but whatever" Ashton says before the group leaves, leaving me and Luke alone.
"Luke, before you-" I start but he cuts me off
"I am not about to let some random guy lay a hand on you, you hear me. You better tell Ashton that you can't do that and let his fucking girlfriend do the dirty work" he hisses
"May I remind you that his fucking girlfriend is my sister and I am not about to let her get herself into this. I can do it Luke" I say
"I know you can but you're not going to. Get that piece of shit out of your ear because I will not let you possibly be raped because of Michael's stupid plan" Luke says
"Wait a second. Michael set this plan up?" I ask, shocked that Michael would be the one to have me in this position
"Yeah. He is the one who makes up every plan we do" he tells me
"I'm doing it, Luke. Please just let me do this. I joined the gang to actually be involved, not bossed around by you" I snap
"Well newsflash for you, sweetheart, I am going to be bossing you around because other than Ashton, I basically own you at the moment." he says, his teeth clenched
"Whatever. I am doing this Luke" I say before pushing passed him.
I walk up to Ashton and Lilac before tapping her on the shoulder. She turns to me and gives me a smile
"You ready?" she asks
"Are you okay with this?" I ask her
"Are you?" she asks me
"Yeah" I say, although I feel unsure.
"Ash" Lilac says, and Ashton turns around, and his arm leaves Lilac once again
"Alright, so, go with Michael and he will explain what you will do in more detail" Ashton explains and I nod, making my way to Michael.
"What's the plan?" I ask right away
"Ashton will let you know where to go after you get the dude's attention. He will surely follow you and then I will take it from there. Do not, and I repeat, do not blow your cover because that will ruin this whole thing" he tells me and my hands get shaky from my nerves.
"A-alright" I stutter
"Hey, you got this" he says "Take this. You might need it" he hands me a pocket knife before walking away.

The guys took me to this club that they knew the dude would be and showed me a picture so I know who to look for.
Now, I am dancing alone, since I saw where the creep is and I know he is looking straight at me, which gives me the creeps
"Rose, that's good enough. Now casually make your way to the exit, but make sure he is following" I hear Ashton's voice sound through my earpiece.
I do as I am told and walk towards the front door, and I can almost feel his stare before he walks in the same direction as me. When I am in the fresh air, I let out a deep breath and walk according to the directions that Ashton is currently giving me.
"You're doing great, Rose" Ashton says, knowing that there has not been a problem so far. I smile to myself, knowing that I am proving myself capable of doing something in this gang.
When I am getting closer to the destination, I feel a strong hand grip my arm, forcing me to stop walking.
"You think you can just walk away after giving me a show?" I hear a raspy voice say into my ear, making me shiver.
"I don't know what you mean" I say, my voice shaky
"Rose, defend yourself" I hear Luke's voice this time through the piece.
"Let me go" I say, trying to remove my arm from his firm grasp.
"Come on, let's go, princess" he says, making my blood boil.
"Try and call me that again" I say
"You like being called princess?" he asks a smirk on his face, and the way he said it was enough to tick me off. I punched him right in the jaw and he stumbled back before regaining his balance.
"You little bitch" he growls
"Rose, stay where you are. Michael and Calum are on their way" I hear Ashton say.
The dude grabs me by my hair and pulls me towards him when I remember the knife Michael gave me and pull it out of my pocket. I hear the faint footsteps of who I hoped would be Calum and Michael but I doubt they would make it in time. I slice his arm and he hisses as he releases me and mutters a line of curse words
"I am not a fucking princess! The sooner a dumbfuck like you will realize that the better" I say before stabbing him again, rage being the only thing that is going through me.
"Rose!" I hear the familiar voice of Calum comes into hearing range and I turn to see him running with Michael.
I drop the knife and it lands on the ground with a small clink. My hands are covered in blood and I realize what I did. Looking down, I see the pale body of the guy and I cover my mouth with my bloody hand.
I look away before Michael finishes the job and Calum embraces me.
"I-I didn't mean to" I stutter, not believing that I had actually done that.
"You did good, alright" he assures me
"I almost killed him" I point out
"Which helped Michael" he says, which was the last thing said on the subject.

I lay in my bed, Luke angry with me not helping my sour mood. I almost killed a guy and yet the gang thinks that I am the pride of the gang right now. Even Lilac congratulated me for what I did. I know he deserved it but it didn't help my current situation. The darkness almost won me over. Is this really going to be my life now?
