Welcomed Into The Darkness

Rose's POV
After telling Lilac that I wanted to have some alone time and walk around, I met Luke behind a coffee shop because he insisted on taking me out on an official date since he doesn't count our night alone one.
When I see Luke with his back facing me, I tip-toe towards him and cover his eyes
"Guess who?" I say, but he doesn't answer. He simply nudges me back with full force and I fall back with a small thud.When he notices that it was me, his eyes turn soft, the opposite of the hard stare he gave me moments before.
"Oh my gosh, Rose" he mumbles as he picks me up with ease. "I didn't realise it was you" he says, and there was regret evident in his voice.
"It's okay. I shouldn't have snuck up on you" I say, trying to reason with him
"No, I shouldn't have done that in the first place. I guess it was just a habit" he says, pulling me into his arms for a tight embrace.
"Man I'm so stupid" he says, most likely meant for only him to hear, but considering how close we are, I couldn't help but hear it.
"Hey, look at me" I say, pulling away gently from the hug and he does so "It was an accident and I'm fine. No harm done alright?" I tell him and he nods as his eyes avert to the ground.
"So, how about that date?" I say, changing the subject.
"Y-yeah, let's go" he says, and we walk, hand in hand, to wherever he is taking me.
We stay behind the buildings, most likely because he doesn't want people giving us the same weird looks as when we were walking together a few days ago.
"How do you stand me?" he asks, his gaze fixed ahead of him as we continue our walk
"What kind of question is that? Is this because of what happened earlier?" I ask him
"Please, just answer the question" he says a little more softly this time.
"Before I answer that, why do you think I got this tattoo?" I ask, pointing to my shoulder blade that is mostly covered with a beautiful design in black ink.
"I'm thinking because your name is Rose and you were panicking" he chuckles
"Wrong" I say, making us stop and turning us so we can face each other. "I got it because even though a rose is beautiful in itself, there will always be thorns on their stems, but the stems don't make it any less amazing because it just what makes the rose what it is. The tattoo reminds me of you, in a way. You are amazing, Luke and even though you have your flaws, it just makes you the Luke Hemmings that I know, and the Luke that I know is amazing, regardless of your thorns. So, I can stand you because in order to love a rose, you have to love everything about it, including the thorns." I tell him, and by now, he is gaining tears in his eyes. He kisses me quickly, making me blush
"Damn, you're amazing" he tells me before we continue our walk.
"You know you basically just told me that you love me" he says, making me turn a darker shade of crimson.

The sun was setting and soon the stars were becoming more evident. Luke and I just had a picnic and acted like the crazy kids that we are, even more so when we get together.
"Luke?" I say
"Hm?" he hums
"Can you promise me something?" I say, looking up at him, since his arms is around me as we lay on the blanket laid out on the ground.
"What would that be?" he asks me
"Promise that we will always try to talk to each other about what is bothering us so we won't ave problems" I say
"Well, I can't promise you that we won't have problems, Rose. We are in a gang after all and crazy shit happens sometimes, but I can promise that I will always talk to you" he says
"Alright." that was all I needed to hear. I knew having no problems would be a longshot but at least we can trust that we can always talk when something is bothering us.
"Oh, and Rose?" he says after a few moments
"Hm?" I mimic his response to me a few minutes ago
"Will you promise that you're opinion of me won't change after seeing what I do?" he asks, his voice shaky as though he was nervous
"Of course. I promise Luke" I say, my eyes growing heavy since we have been hanging out for hours and it gets tiring.
"I love you too" was the faint words that I heard Luke say before sleep engulfs me as I lay in the warmth of Luke's arms.
