Welcomed Into The Darkness

Rose's POV
The sound of the door creaking open causes me to jump up from the couch and look in that direction. Lilac hasn't been gone for long, but I was glad that she was back, however given the short amount of time that she was gone, I was confused as to why her and Ashton were now holding hands.
"What's going on here?" I ask, gesturing to the two
"I'm giving this a try" Lilac shrugs and I simply nod, not knowing what else to say
"Ashton what the fuck is this?" Calum hisses
"Exactly what it looks like" Ashton hisses right back, clenching his teeth.
It looks like I wasn't the only one who didn't approve of this. I look back at Michael and Calum and they don't seem the least bit happy about the scene in front of them. Luke on the other hand has a smug look on his face. I roll my eyes at him, knowing both him and Ashton have been planning for this to happen.
"Lilac, I need to speak to you." I tell her, glancing at Ashton. "Alone" I add before walking off knowing she is following after me once I hear footsteps stomping my way. I turn to see her with an annoyed expression on her face.
"What do you think you're doing? I thought we weren't going to get sucked into their world?" I whisper-yell, so they won't be able to hear us
"And I thought we weren't going to tell anybody about what happened to us before we got here?" she shot back
"Ok whatever, but I never specified what happened. All I said was that we went through a lot" I explain and she rolls her eyes. Before I can continue, Calum walks up to the two of us.
"What do you want Calum?" I question
"No need to be rude. I just came to say that you weren't the only one who told someone about what happened" he explains, making me furrow my eyebrows.
"What are you talking about?" I ask, glancing at Lilac
"She gave me a brief explanation when I asked her as well. I don't know why she overreacted earlier, because I already told her about it." Calum says.
I look over at Lilac and she looks anywhere but where I am.
"Calum, I need some more time alone with my sister, if you don't mind" I tell him which he simply nods at before walking off.
"So, let me get something straight here. You got angry at me for telling Luke, and now you have the nerve to think I am in the wrong here. You did the same thing and I have no idea what you told Calum! Now you're with Ashton, after what, twenty minutes with you being gone? Lilac are you even thinking right now?" I ask, Lilac still not focusing her gaze on me.
"I told you before that I like him, so what's the big deal?" she completely ignores what I mentioned before even saying anything about her relationship with Ashton
"I know you've told me, but he is just using your vulnerable state to get to you, and you don't even realize that" I explain
"Like you didn't do anything while you were vulnerable" she spat, referring to our past.
"I regret it okay! You don't need to lecture me about my mistake when the point here is that you are all of a sudden with Ashton! The guy that we agreed to avoid" I remind her
"Maybe I don't want to avoid him anymore" she mumbles.
"What would you do if I just happened to walk back into the apartment holding hands with Luke, after twenty minutes of leaving with him?" I ask
"I don't know, but maybe I'll be happy because you said yourself that you liked him. Yes we claimed to hate them but come on Rose, just because we say that doesn't make it true" she tells me
"Fine, do whatever you want than. Just don't come crying to me when he leaves you like he does to every other girl" I say before walking away, not giving her a chance to reply.
When I walk back, Michael still doesn't seem happy, neither does Calum, but Ashton and Luke don't seem to be bothered by anything.
"Is there a problem?" Ashton asks
"Not at all. I just have one thing to say to you though" I say with a fake smile that I'm sure he could see through, which is my goal "If you even try to hurt my sister, don't expect to be able to have kids afterwards" I say, walking towards him, my arms crossed over my chest.
"Is that a threat?" he asked me
"Maybe it is?" I say, not feeling threatened by him anymore.
"You listen hear you little-" he starts but Luke comes in between the two of us
"I don't think you want to finish that sentence" he growls at Ashton
"Step aside Hemmings. I don't think you want to risk your current position." Ashton says
"Ok, so if you could say something to her, I'm sure you won't mind if I call Lilac a-" Luke challenges, but before Ashton has a chance to cut him short, I do
"If you finish that fucking sentence, it better be on a good note, because if it won't, I swear you won't be able to have kids either Hemmings" I say.
"I don't think you want to threaten me sweetheart. Unlike Irwin over here, I know how to push your buttons" he smirks before bringing his face to my ear "Princess" he whispers before walking away.
My blood begins to boil, my fists clenching and I guess Michael and Calum saw because right when I run up to Luke, they each grab my arms to hold me back. I try to break loose of their grip, but there was no use, them being way stronger than I am.
"Hemmings, what the hell did you say to her?" Michael snaps
"Just what she is" he shrugs, taking advantage of the fact that I am restrained by his gang members
"You know damn well that I am not a fucking princess Luke! Stop fucking calling me that" I spat. "If I was a princess, don't you think I wouldn't have to be held back from removing your head from your fucking shoulders right now?" I continue
"Trust me, I doubt you could do that if you can't break free from their hold" he chuckles
"Try me" I challenge, trying to break free once more, only to have their grip get tighter.
"Let go of my sister you assholes!" I hear Lilac yell from behind us
"Do you want his blood on your floor?" Michael asks
"I wouldn't mind at the moment" she shrugs.
"That's enough!" Ashton booms, making everyone jump. We all look in his direction, him walking to Lilac before joining their hands together "Why don't we start over, aye? If Rose still wants to rip off Luke's head by the end of the night, he will be forced to leave you be, but if you two enjoy yourselves, you get to be apart of our gang" Ashton proposes
"You say that like it will be an honor to be in your gang" I scoff
"It is, depending on how you look at it." he says.
I think about the proposition, making sure it is worth it before I even consider agreeing with him. Lilac would jump at the chance right now, knowing her boyfriend is involved, but being that me and Luke have to be in the same group for the night makes me want to rip his head off already. However, if I know there won't be a chance of me enjoying myself with him, than I have nothing to lose, other than having to be with him for hours. Another thing I have to consider is that I am slowly falling for Luke, as crazy as it may seem. What if tonight I begin to realize that my crush is more than that? It's worth a shot though.
"Fine, but don't get your hopes up" I agree, causing Ashton and Luke to smile, but Michael and Calum's frowns deepen at my decision.

Sooo here's another chapter everyone!! I was going to add Rose's decision at the beginning of the next chapter but I felt like you guys deserved it fr having to wait for an update. I want to apologize for not updating more frequently than I should. I really want to, you guys have no idea how bad I feel for not being able to, but school is so stressful, especially being a Jr and having to focus on what I have to do to graduate and get into college, because Senior year is when I have to send in applications, and so this year is stressful. Anyways, I have been extremely busy so I seriously apologize for not updating more than I am right now. I will try to update more though.
