Speak Up - Where We Share What We Think
Paragraphs
I stumble across some stories and this seems to be happening a little too frequently:
I spot a story on the updated page because the title is really eye catching and then the description speaks out even better! I'm literally eager to click that title and start getting myself prepared to wherever this story is going to take me.
But then I click on the first chapter of the story and everything is written in one whole fat chapter. I literally sigh out loud as I just really don't know where to start. My hopes are shattered and I start to have an argument with myself. (Mentally of course)
So, I start to scan some of the sentences and I'm thinking..'This is bloody good!' But I just can't read it. If the layout isn't up to scratch and there are no paragraphs in existence then I have to turn away. It's so annoying as I really get my hopes up and I want to know what the Author has to offer. In my eyes, it's a shame.
Also, it bugs me when people use one sentence but three different people are talking. I'm literally trying to figure out where I am and who's said what. It's so confusing!
If anyone does this, please please please just review other stories and just take little tips on how people break things up! Start a new line when a new person talks, separate a big chunk of writing into another paragraph just so it doesn't look daunting. Do this and you'll be incredible!
Does anyone else think the same? Or does it not bother you so much?
Let me know :)
