Crazy

After I take his hand in mine, he laces our fingers together tightly. I can’t help but smile as I make my way through the kitchen to the stairs. I was going to go up and grab a few things I wanted to take with me to Harry’s place. I can’t believe I’m actually free of him, of Chris. I don’t think I’ve been this happy in a long time. My feet move at a quickened pace as I move up the stairs to my, excuse me, now his room. I was more than ready to get out of here, and I’m glad I have Harry by my side.

“Need any help, love?” he asks as we approach the door that I once called mine. I grab the handle and turn the knob, pushing the door open. I flip the light on before I walk in, fingers intertwined with his.

“No, think I can manage it on my own, but thanks for asking,” I tell him with a smile before I walk over to the closet and grab my pink duffel bag along with my backpack which lay on the floor near the door. It wasn’t too big but will fit most of my things, like some clothes, shoes, toiletries, simple things like that. I drop my duffel on the bag before I begin to fill it with some of my things I was bringing with me.

“You know you don’t have to bring it all, right?” Harry calls out from the doorway, voice breaking the silence in the room. I jump at the sound of his voice as I place things in my bag.

“I know, but I’m just getting some things I don’t want to leave here,” I say and turn toward him as I go over to my desk and reach for some photo collages I made with a bunch of pictures of my friends and I on various occasions. I manage to pick those up along with this necklace I got from my mum on my birthday a few years ago, when I turned sixteen.

“Fine, just know, I can take you and get you some new stuff, have money stashed away I’ve saved all these years and never thought to use it, but I have a reason to, now,” he tells me as I continue to fill my bag with numerous items.

“What’s that?” I give him a smile as I pass by him to grab some of my things in the bathroom down the hall. I grab most of my toiletries and some hair stuff and carry them back into my room. It takes me a good few minutes but I stuff as much of my things I can into my bag. Catching me off guard once again, I feel arms wrap around my waist from behind and I feel his hot breath on my neck.

“You,” he whispers huskily into my ear. I smile a bit and bite my lip as he kisses my neck lightly.

“So, you almost ready to go and we can get goin’?” he asks, grabbing my waist and pulling me toward him so I was now facing him.

“Almost,” I mutter as he leans in, lips just inches away from my own. He smiles and presses his lips against mine in a soft kiss, arms on my waist.

“Maybe I’ll get done quicker if you stop distracting me,” I tell him with a smile as I slowly pull away and turn so I can finish putting my things in my bag.

“Fine,” he mutters and crosses his arms over his chest.

A good five minutes later, I am finished and have everything I need in my duffel bag. After I zip up the bag and put the strap over my shoulder, I let out a sigh. Finally, I am done with this place.

“Done?” he questions as I turn and head for the door. I give him a nod as I reach for my backpack to put over my other shoulder. He takes it out of my hands and puts it over one of his shoulders. I smile and thank him for doing that for me.

“Good, let’s go back to my place, yeah?” he asks and I nod my head. He reaches for my hand laces our fingers together as we make our way toward the stairs for the last time. I begin to think of how I was going to break the news to Kendall and Payton that I was going to be staying with Harry from now on. Quite interesting, I’m sure.

As we pass the kitchen, I stop in my tracks and begin to search for my house key that I knew I wouldn’t need any more. Would be a waste if I kept it so might as well just leave it here for one of the girls to have as an extra in case they need one. I search through my jean shorts I wore for the key I was looking for. As I rummage through my right pocket, that’s when I feel something metal between my fingertips. I grasp the metal object with my hand and pull it from the confined space.

I set it on the counter and begin to look around for a piece of paper so I can write a small note to the girls. I soon come across one, and grab it along with a nearby blue-ink pen so I can write the message. My handwriting is a bit sloppy as I write.

It read: Kendall & Payton,

I’m leaving you this along with the key because I’m not staying here anymore but I’ll still be around, just down the street a ways, you’ll know with whom... Chris and I are done, I’ll explain soon.

After I set the note on the counter, with the key, I grab Harry’s hand and pull on it lightly. I smile a bit as I look at him and feel him staring back at me, a smile on his face.

“You’re so damn cute,” I hear him mutter softly in my ear, his mouth curving up in a smile as he did so. I can’t help but smile a bit at that and shake my head at him.

We soon make our way through the front room to the front door and pay no mind to see if Chris was still passed out on the floor. I didn’t really care to be fair. I push the door open and we walk out into the semi-warm fall air.

Harry and I soon approach his car and he presses a button on the key. A faint beep is heard before he pulls the back door open and puts my bag in the back. I set my duffel beside it and slam it shut. In a quick motion, I feel arms wrap around my waist and pull me closer. Harry leans forward and presses a kiss to my lips.

I smile a bit as he pulls away from my lips. The two of us are soon on our way back to his place. I stare out the window as we drive off from the place I used to reside. Too many memories that I can finally let go of and forget and I was more than happy. As Harry drives, I feel him reach over the middle console and take my hand in his, lacing our fingers together. I tighten my grip on his hand and smile as I look over at him. The two of us talk amongst ourselves and even have a bit of a laugh as he drives.

A good five minutes later, we pull up in front of Harry’s place. The car slows to a stop and he cuts the engine. I climb out of the car after I release my safety belt and shut the door. Harry undoes his as well and comes around to where I was. I reach for the handle and pull the back door open so I can grab my things in the backseat.

“I’ll get them for ya, love,” I hear him mutter as he reaches forward and grabs both of my bags for me.

“I could’ve gotten ‘em, but thanks,” I tell him as he picks them up and swings each of the straps over his shoulder.

I take a small step back so he could close the door and laugh a bit at the sight of him in his dark clothes, a pink bag on his shoulder. After he slams the door shut, he presses a button on the key to lock it before making his way up onto the porch that led to the front door.

“No problem, babe,” he says with a shrug of his shoulders as he opens the door and walks inside. I follow behind him and close the door after I walk in. He turns to face me and smiles a bit. I smile a bit and notice him take a step closer to me, wrapping one of his arms around my waist and pulling me closer to him.

“Want to go watch a film and relax a bit?” he asks as he looks at me.

“Sure but mind if I g-go, um, f-freshen myself up a bit first?” I question as I begin to pull away from his grip on me. “Want to change out of these clothes,” I tell him and smile up at him. He nods his head and presses a kiss to my forehead. I could definitely get used to this, the new and upcoming adventure with Harry by my side.
