Rage

Alex.

The smell of Lori making breakfast pulled me from the darkness of my sleep. I peeled my eyes open to the day and waited for them to adjust. My head was still against the pillow and I'd rolled over for room to think. It was a few days ago that Harry and I had the talk and still I wasn't completely use to having him as a boyfriend. It was easy to question now if he was completely sure or held regret for asking me. I knew that he meant well but I wasn't entirely sure he was good with commitments. I guess now I'd see for myself.

Lori:
"Get down here Ally!!"

I don't know why I hadn't just gotten up already to have avoided that. I did so at her command, pulling back the covers and dragging myself off to the bathroom.

I headed downstairs when my teeth were brushed and my face freshened.

Ally:
"Morning."

I sat up in the chair where she'd laid my plate out for me.

Lori:
"Good morning."

Everything about us was really routine now. She squeezed my cheeks playfully I assumed because I was still quite tired.

Lori:
"Did you get in late last night?"

Ally:
"Uh, no. I was here, but you may have heard Harry leaving out".

I know she may have hated that given she didn't much like Harry to begin with. This was why I often avoided anything dealing with the topic of him when it came to her.

Lori:
"Me and the girls are going out tonight, you're going."

Ally:
"I don't know. Harry's picking me up in an hour. "

Lori:
"I wasn't asking you. So be back."
When you had older siblings this was your life...you'd always be three years old.

--

I was surprised in not seeing the mean side for about a week now, and maybe now that we were together he'd keep that steak.

Harry:
"I want to take you somewhere tonight."

I was hoping he didn't say that. I took a breath with the sight of those eyes in the sun. He hugged my waist while waiting for my response to that.

Ally:
"Well, I can't tonight. I'm sorry. Lori's dragging me out with the girls, so I'm kind of stuck."

It was clear he hadn't liked that.

Harry:
"Just don't go."

Then I'd never be able to smooth that out with Lori.

Ally:
"...We can do whatever you want tomorrow, I promise."

I pecked his cheek where his dimple normally would have been had he not been in this mood. He pulled away, clearly over the situation and opened the car door.

Harry:
"I'll take you home now."

Yea, he was pissed.

Ally:
"Harry, you do realize that's not until tonight. And you just picked me up. Don't be upset, talk to me."

Harry:l
"It's not that. I just...forgot I have someplace to be right now."

I hopped off of the car, deciding to let it go for now. Because things had been worst before.

--

We were in a group together, the usually upbeat sort of vibe happening as the night got older. I always felt really done up after my sister had done my makeup and picked most of the outfit. The tight fitting dress was quite short of course and it naturally seemed to shrink more the taller my heels were. The loud noise of people and common music had filled the walls making it difficult to communicate without getting really close. I held a drink but hadn't really sipped much of it, given that being with Harry had actively turned me off to it.

We danced against one another, often triggering the eyes of guys that stood close by.

Alex:
"Surprised you're not with Harry tonight."

Yea, so was I. Alex was a friend of Lori's that I only knew from his constant appearances at the house. Despite him knowing of Harry he'd always seemed to hit on me, an obvious reason why I often steered clear of him.

Ally:
"Yea well...if I'm not with him I'm usually with Lori so."

She stood two seconds away, entertaining some guy that had just come her way. Due to the conversation with him, we were closer than I would have liked now.

Alex:
"You look really nice, by the way. I like the dress."

I nodded, mouthing a thank you politely. Just then Lori had taken my hand and faced me in the left direction of the club. She pointed while speaking loudly into my ear.

Lori:
"Isn't that Harry?"

It was hard to mistake anyone else for Harry...ever. So what I saw was definitely the person I'd just gotten into a relationship with accompanied by another girl. I watched in that direction with pain in my chest but ignored my body's cue for the tears. He stood against the wall as I watched her hands linger about his waist and they're faces close. I had to have stood there for minutes now when I finally saw her lips touch his. That was when I looked away. I felt terror in my stomach when I turned to her and tilted the cup up to my lips.

Lori:
"I'm so sorry, Allison. Just forget about him. He's an asshole."

I nodded losing her eye contact and pouring the remainder of her cup into mine. I downed it quickly, ignoring the burn that stung my throat on the way down.

Ally:
"I think I'll go now."

Lori:
"No I'll come with."

Ally:
"No, it's alright. I'll...ask Alex."

--

Ally:
"I'm fine. You didn't have to come in, you know."

Alex:
"Yea but Lori said to, so..."

I noticed he watched me quite closely.

Alex:
"What happened tonight?"

He sat next to me, the alcohol in my stream in full affect.

Ally:
"I don't want to talk about it, alright. Anything but that..."

He handed me the water from the table but I'd refused it. I sat back thinking maybe he'd have more to say, but I guess not. My eyes felt extremely lazy and I didn't know whether to force them open for company or just fall asleep there in front of him.

Alex:
"Come on. You should head to bed."

He grabbed me by my fingers and proceeded in pulling me up the stairs.

Ally:
"I'm not a child. It's early."

Alex:
"I know but you are drunk. So you need some sleep."

We reached the bedroom and I'd began to undress immediately, and slip on an oversized t-shirt.

Alex:
"I didn't look, I swear."

He said from behind me. I turned to walk toward where he sat on the bed and place my arms around his neck. Don't ask me why.

Ally:
"I don't mind."

Our faces were close now and the buzz was at it's peak.

Alex:
"Wow. You're really drunk."

He said quietly as if trying to avoid any other answer. I smiled into it, pressing my lips to his and feeling him receive it. That was fast. I felt his tongue poke for entry and at some point I'd given it to him. I felt his arms around me, and eventually his fingers trailing against my legs. He pulled back suddenly seemingly with something on his mind.

Alex:
"You're going to kill me when I tell you this."

I giggled into his neck at that sudden statement.

Alex:
"I'm serious, Ally. This is bad. I should just go."

He stood as I sat.

Ally:
"And leave me by myself..."

I laid back into the bedding as my fatigue began to grow more. I somehow managed to slip under the covers and into the comfort of the bed. He sighed distantly and his presence could be felt beside me.

Alex:
"Alright."

He was on top of the covers but at least he was here. I cuddled into him subconsciously and before I could thank him I was out.

--

I awakened at her call again, the vibration of her voice stabbing like knives into my headache. I sat up slowly at the pain and looked over at Alex who was already awake.

Though I remembered things with unspecified detail I knew nothing had happened with us.
Ally:
"Not mad, see."

He smiled, walking over to indulge me in a hug. And peck my forehead.

Alex:
"Alright...I'm heading out to see if I can find my mom a birthday gift. I'll call you later, Ally."

He fixed himself before heading over to the door.

Ally:
"Okay, and do you mind telling her I'm coming. Gosh she doesn't quit."

Alex:
"Sure. I got it."

It wasn't until he'd left that I'd thought of Harry...and on top of this headache it wasn't a good merge. I wasn't yet ready to start this day, but Lori wouldn't have it otherwise.

Ally:
"Yes, Lori."

I'd said automatically, coming down from the stairs after my shower. She was there in the kitchen and he was seated there on the couch.

Ally:
"What's he doing in here?"

Lori:
"He wouldn't quit ringing the doorbell okay, and I couldn't figure out how to remove the battery so..."

Ally:
"Whatever. I'm really not in the mood for this right now."

I'd began to head back up the stairs.

Lori:
"You have to eat."

Ally:
"Not hungry."

Lori:
"Did Alex spend the night here?"

She was likely stirring the pot because she hated Harry, but this had to be the first I didn't mind.

Ally:
"Yep."
I stepped until I reached the hallway and followed that to my room.

Lori:
"Well I'll be gone, I have a run to make."

I attempted to close the door but he reached it first. And there we were alone in my bedroom.

Harry:
"Did I just heard that correctly?"

Ally:
"It's none of your business. I do what I want."

He closed the door and turned the lock, moving over to press me against the wall forcefully.

Harry:
"Really? So you're screwing other guys now."

Ally:
"Let me go, Harry. I saw that girl all over you last night. I was there at the club, I'm not stupid. We're done."

Harry:
"What? That did not happen."

Ally:
"Whatever just let me go."

Harry:
"Look, I don't even fucking remember last night to be honest with you. I...I drank again...Alot."

I listened to his explanation though I probably shouldn't have. The pain against my arms was beginning to draw tears to my eyes.

Harry:
"And we didn't have sex so don't even go there. I woke up at Louis'."

He pressed at my hips harshly now so there was no escaping him. I could tell he was still in the after effects of it despite the daylight.

Harry:
"I explained. Now what was he doing here?"

Ally:
"Nothing happened okay. You're hurting me, Harry."

Harry:
"Did you let him touch you at all?"

He'd probably been drinking this morning, which meant this would likely go left. And it did.

-

My eyes opened slowly from sleep for the second time today. I was laid on the floor, his weight pressing me to it as he slept off the alcohol. I couldn't remember how long we'd been here but the daylight gave me clues. I was extremely sore but went to rub the head of curls that was now collapsed on top of me.

Ally:
"Harry."

I was nearly naked. But his warmth kept me both concealed and okay with it.

He stirred before raising his head to look at me. I put my hand gently to his face because I knew the hangover he'd been experiencing.

Ally:
"You alright?"

Harry:
"I'm fine."

He looked up to see me and all the new bruises I knew were there. His eyes closed immediately to curse quietly.

Harry:
"What the hell's wrong with me?"

The same that was wrong with me for somehow always staying. I knew he didn't mean to physically hurt me all the time but with the boos he always would...How could I just leave him when there was obviously things he needed to work on...things he needed me for. Maybe I'd just try a little harder this time.

Ally:
"It's alright.."

Notes

Don't know if I like this chapter only because of the headache I had while writing it. Thanks for reading anyways though.
