Summer Nights Romance.

Chapter III.

LOUIS’ P.O.V.

The party was going somewhat well. He had been dancing with Riley, the sorority slut, but nonetheless a fun girl who knew what she was doing. He knew that he had her for the night, and Luke had Collins but it didn’t stop Louis from keeping his eyes peeled for Collins.

“You seem preoccupied,” Riley said softly once they found themselves at the end of a main hall. Louis had picked the spot because it was across from Luke’s bedroom. She had him pressed against the wall and had been pressing her lips against him, her body tight with his.

“I could never be preoccupied,” Louis said, grinning sinisterly, “not when I’m with you.” And with that he grabbed her bottom as she wrapped her smooth legs around his hips. He felt the door behind him and turned the knob, allowing himself in. He dropped Riley on the bed and immediately allowed his hands to grab her panties and lower them down her legs and off of her hips. He ducked underneath and began to leave a trail of kisses from her knees to her inner top thigh. She moaned at all the right times, so very softly, begging for more. He pushed her tight dress further up, allowing more access and Riley ripped at his shirt, allowing it over his head.

Suddenly the door opened and in came Collins and Luke. They stood uncomfortably in the doorway, seemingly paused by time.

“Do you, uh… need anything?” Louis broke the silence.

“Well, uh, this is my room Lou,” Luke said, eyes furrowed.

“Oh, sorry about that… must have taken the wrong turn,” Louis spat seeing Collins smirking behind him. Not the reaction he wanted…

“Well could you get out?” Luke stood by the side of the doorway, as if to make room for the two of them to leave.

“Why? Are you two, gonna… you know,” Louis mocked.

“Fuck off, would you?” Collins spat, thoroughly annoyed by these boys.

“No, but you two can. Now we’re kind of busy, so if you don’t mind,” Louis began to turn back towards Riley, but she was fully dressed again and shaking her head, laughing along with Collins once more.

“What the fuck is so funny?” Louis stood up now, embarrassed and aggravated.

“Nothing,” Collins giggled. “C’mon Luke, let’s get out of here.”

Collins was beckoning Luke, but he refused to divert his eyes without one last ominous stare at Louis. Louis mocked him with a kissy face.

Riley ended up following Collins and Luke out.“If you wanted me to make someone jealous, you could have just told me.” Riley said, sounding hurt for the first time.

“I didn’t think you’d care, you’re the sorority slut…”

Initially a rush of sadness overtook Riley’s dark eyes, but it turned to anger all too quickly, slamming the bedroom door shut behind her.

COLLINS P.O.V.

Her night had been nice, but her day had been long. She was aching for a full night of sleep as Luke walked her across the street.

“Hey, I had fun. It was cool getting to know you,” Luke nodded, looking uncomfortable as they neared the front door.

“It was nice, but hey, I don’t want you to get the wrong idea… but I don’t date.” She said, maybe a bit too abruptly. Luke looked at her surprised.

“I didn’t mean that as…”

“I know you didn’t, I just don’t want you to get the wrong idea about us… this… tonight,” Collins smiled. She was surprising herself at how nice she was being. She had a reputation of being cold and not very friendly, but Luke was genuine and nice.

“I didn’t think that this was a date, don’t worry,” Luke said kindly adding a smile.

“Okay cool, so I’ll see you sometime soon?”

“Are you going to the brunch tomorrow?”

“Brunch?”

“Yeah, it’s the last Saturday so everyone’s getting together. It’s in your backyard actually,” Luke laughed.

“Oh, well I guess I’ll be there… no choice probably.”

“Well people thought that you were gonna have no choice in going to the frat party tonight, but you managed to get out of it.”

“I guess you’re right.”

“But, I’m hoping you won’t sneak out of tomorrow. I’ll see you then, I hope,” he winked, his lip ring catching the light, and then he forbade her a goodnight walking back the way he came leaving without a sloppy wet kissed cheek and a lingering promise of a friendship.

DEVIN P.O.V.

She had overslept, and at the wrong house on top of it. She was cursing herself as she scurried about the frat house’s front lawn that was now decorated with plastic cups, beer bottles, and cigarette buts. Luckily, Devin appeared to be the only one late to getting ready for the brunch. The girls were already bustling about placing chairs in the back and setting up the tent.

“Riley! Get out here and help!” Evelyn cried from the back. All of the other girls were strewn around and Devin quickly apologized to Evelyn.

“Don’t worry, Devin. The least I could do,” her blue eyes assured. Devin smiled graciously, throwing her belongings on the patio table and running over to help one of the girls with the tent. By ten thirty that morning the yard was all prepared.

The caterers were walking in now and preparing their food setups. Collins emerged from the back door and looked around at everything. Most of the girls were retreating into the house and putting on sundresses, but Collins sat down in an oversized Van Halen t-shirt at the table. Her hair looked like a bird’s nest and her make up from the previous night smudged. Devin sighed. She knew it was morning, but Jesus; she looked like a wreck. But nonetheless Devin had to admit that Collins looked somewhat beautiful until she pulled a box out of her pocket.

“Collins!” Devin shrieked. “What the fuck are you doing?!” she stormed over and smacked the cigarette out of her younger sister’s hand.

“It’s a metaphor?” Collins tried, but then smiled at her own joke.

“Don’t give me that shit,” Devin growled, looking dangerous. Devin never swore, so when she did, even Collins knew she meant business.

“Well I’m sorry but you don’t really have a say so…”

“Give me that box of cancer sticks,” Devin snarled, bearing her teeth.

“Jesus Christ,” Collins looked the least bit nervous, instead she just appeared annoyed. “I’m gonna go… go get ready.”

“Dammit Collins,” Devin wanted nothing but to follow her and smack her across the face, but she couldn’t, other girls were being attracted to their confrontation. Devin just cursed under her breath and stormed into the house and to her room.
