I spent most of the night looking at the pictures of Liam and his family that were scattered around this room that I fell asleep later than when everyone went to bed. I woke up around eight and found a set of clothes sitting on the dresser and I smiled lightly. I quickly changed and threw them on and pulled my hair out of the braid and smile at the waves I had now. I then headed downstairs. I had gotten to the top of the stairs when I heard Liam’s, Nicola’s, Ruth’s and Karen’s voice talking.

“So you’re not dating Melanie,” Nicola said, “Why? She’s perfect for you Liam.”

“Nic we just met,” Liam said.

“And?” Ruth’s voice was heard, “You should’ve seen the way her face lit up when we told her stories about you growing up.”

“You told her stories,” Liam said shocked.
“Of course Li,” his mom said, “She wanted to know more about you. She loved your superman picture when you were like six and you had the towel around your neck and your underwear on.”

“I can’t believe you all!” Liam exclaimed, “There was a reason why I didn’t tell her everything about me.”

“Liam why are you getting upset?” Ruth asked, “You’re friends and friends want to get to know you.”

I then decided to walk into the kitchen. I walked in to find Liam’s hands clenched in fists and everyone looking tense.

“Good morning everyone,” I said.

I then looked over at Liam who just stormed out of the kitchen and everyone looked at me.

“Did I do something?” I asked playing confused.

“No,” Nicola said about to go after Liam but I stopped her.

“Do you mind if I try?” I asked and all three girls smiled at me.

“Go for it,” they smiled a knowing smile.

I then walked out of the kitchen and heard something outside. I walked into the living room and saw Geoff sitting in a chair.

“He went out to the garage,” he said.

“Thanks,” I said blushing slightly and headed that way.
I walked into the garage to find Liam punching a giant punching bag and shut the door. He quickly turned around and when he saw it was me turned around to continue punching the bag.

“I didn’t know you boxed,” I said trying to see if he would answer.

When he didn’t I just sighed and walked over to him and wedged myself in between the punching bag and him. He just looked at me and for the first time I saw Liam’s eyes were just blank and no emotion in them.

“Liam,” I started but he just moved on to doing something else.

He was jumping rope and I just sighed.

“Will you talk to me!?” I asked in frustration.

“Why you know everything about me,” he said and I sighed.

“Liam I just wanted to get to know you,” I said, “You know everything about me and I know absolutely nothing.”

“Well then you know I’m a just a hardarse who doesn’t care about anyone,” he said harshly and I sighed.

“Do you want me to leave?” I asked.

“Yes,” he said and I nodded my head.

“Alright,” I said, “Call me when you get back to London so I know you made it safe and if you want to null the contract just let me know. I can make up a lie about you having to work or something. Just don’t push your family away this time Liam. They truly love you and missed you.”

I then walked back into the house and said good bye to Liam’s family and thanked them for their hospitality and promised Nicola to get her clothes back to her.

It had been three days since Liam had introduced me to his family and I still haven’t heard from him. I had picked up a couple of shifts at the hospital since then and I was walking into the hospital when I saw Liam’s car in the parking lot. I sighed to myself and decided to just pretend I didn’t see it and I grabbed my bags. I had just shut the door to my car, when I looked up to see Liam leaning against my car. I looked up at him and just shook my head and tried to get passed him.

“Mel,” Liam started.

“Don’t apologize Liam,” I said, “Besides I have to get to work.”

I then just left Liam standing in the parking lot and made my way to my floor. I had spent most of the evening just checking up on my patients and making sure they were comfortable when I noticed that most of the nurses were at the desk all whispering and giggling. I was a bit curious so I made my way to the desk and my mouth dropped when I saw Liam standing there in a pair of jeans, a black t-shirt that showed off his muscles very well, and a giant bouquet of brightly colored daisies and teddy bear that was holding a sign that said I’m Sorry. I smiled lightly and he was scanning the small crowd that was gathering and when our eyes met he made a beeline towards me.

“You do realize that it’s midnight,” I said, “And I have still have six hours left in my shift.”

“I do,” he said, “but I still needed to do this.”

He then handed me the flowers and teddy bear.

“You remembered my favorite flowers,” I said smiling at the flowers remembering that Louis never remembered that I loved daisies.

“Of course,” he said, “Mel I’m really sorry about a few days ago. It’s just. . .”

“Liam,” I said smiling lightly at him, “We can talk about this when I get off work. It’s much more of a private conversation just know that I forgive you and I apologize for acting like a huge bitch this afternoon.”

Liam just gave me look that said he understood but he wasn’t pleased that I apologized. I smiled at Liam and then kissed his cheek which I knew threw him off guard.

“Thank you,” I said, “I love both of them.”

Liam then just smiled at me and kissed my forehead.

“Then I’ll see you tomorrow morning around eleven?” he asked and I nodded my head.

“We can go to the diner deal?” I replied, “You come pick me up?”

“Deal,” he said smiling at me and then kissed my forehead for a second time, “Drive safe when you get off okay?”

“Okay,” I replied and we said our good bye.

The minute Liam left and for the rest of my shift I was badgered about what was going on between me and Liam.
