My Favorite Date

Before I knew it, Nicola, Ruth, Karen, and I had spent hours just talking and getting to know each other and I learned so much about Liam. He had a passion for music and you could just see it in his mom’s face of how proud she was of Liam. She showed so many of embarrassing pictures of Liam that I’m pretty sure if he knew what we were doing in the kitchen of his childhood home that he would be mortified. I even got to tell them a little bit about me and my family. I had no idea why Liam stopped talking to his family for so long but I could tell that his family loved him so much.

“Mel,” I heard Liam’s voice ask.

“Yeah,” I said turning around to see Liam standing in the doorway.

“Do you mind if we spend the night?” he asked, “I’m just too tired to drive back to London.”

“Of course,” I said, “We can stay as late as you want. I’m off for the rest of the week.”

Liam gave me a small smile and then nodded his head. He kissed the cheek of Ruth, Nicola, and his mom and I smiled lightly at him.

“Night Liam,” we said.

“Night,” he said and came over to kiss my forehead, “Don’t believe a word they tell you about me. I was an angel.”

“He means devil disguised as an angel,” Nicola teased and I just smiled and laughed at the sibling fighting since it reminded me of me and my siblings.

Liam then disappeared up the stairs because Karen said his room hadn’t been touched and she wanted to get the guest room set up for me much to my decline and saying that I could just sleep on the couch. As soon as they left, Nicola and Ruth looked at me.

“How come you two aren’t dating?” Nicola asked right away, “I’ve never seen my brother so smitten with another girl.”

“Oh we barely know each other,” I said shocked but proud of myself for being able to think on my feet so quickly.

“So you want to date our brother,” Ruth said and I gave them a small smile.

“I would love to date your brother,” I said, “In the past three days I’ve seen him be so kind and caring, and protective, and loving that I know he would be the perfect person to date, but I don’t want to rush into anything and I’m pretty sure he could do much better than just me.”

I saw both girls scoff and roll their eyes and just smiled lightly. Before they could respond Liam came back down and said that I needed to follow him upstairs so he could show me to my room. I said good night to Nicola and Ruth who said good night back and I followed Liam up the stairs and into a very simple guest bedroom that I absolutely loved. He shut the door and I turned to look at him.

“Thank you,” Liam said looking down at his hands and then back up at me, “Thank you for making me come back. I’ve missed them.”

“No problem Liam,” I said and smiled lightly at him, “Like I said we’re friends and I’m going to make sure that I can help anyway I can.”

“Well thank you,” Liam said and stepped closer to me, “Good night Mel. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Good night Liam,” I said a bit nervous for what he was about to do.

He then leaned in and kissed my forehead and headed out of the room. After I shut the door, I leaned against it and let out a sigh. There was no denying it I was slowly falling for my hired date and it was going to end in bad news for me.
