As Fragile as Glass

We pulled into the parking lot and I looked over at Liam.

"What do you guys call this place anyways," I asked.

He grinned. "The House of Payne but instead of spelling it pain we spell it Payne."

I started laughing as I got out of his car. "You come up with that?"

"Yup," he said proudly as we made our way over to the building.

"Your humility is astounding," I teased.

"You bet it is," Liam said with a wink.

We walked in and everyone instantly started shouting hello to Liam. He nodded at them and they went back to what they had been doing. The room was huge. It had a giant boxing ring in the middle and there was exercise equipment everywhere. There were practice mats in one corner and punching bags in another. There had to be at least forty guys if not more working out and practicing. There were a few girls here and there but not many. There were three hallways. One was was directly across from the boxing ring and the other two were to the left and right of the ring. Liam started leading me towards the middle hallway.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"I figured you could hang with Breezie today," Liam said.

I nodded. "Ok."

We were almost to the hallway when Louis intercepted us.
"Yo boss, we have a problem," Louis said urgently.

"Can't it wait Louis? I got to take Summer to Breezie."

Louis whispered something in Liam's ear. Liam's eyes widened. He cursed quietly. He looked at Louis then at me. I could tell he was torn.

"Its ok. Go ahead," I told him.

"But do you even know how to get there?" Liam asked worriedly.

I nodded. "I went there yesterday. I'm sure I will remember."

He smiled gratefully at me. "Ok thanks. I'll see you later."

Liam and Louis walked off.

"Ok I can do this," I told myself.

*** 15 Minutes Later ***

I ran my hands through my hair in frustration. How the hell did I mange to get lost? It was only a few turns. Right? It didn't help that all the Damon walls were the same gray color. I rounded the corner and ran straight into someone. Strong arms caught me before I could fall.

"Hey watch where you're-" the man froze mid sentence as I looked up.

His face was mere inches from mibe. I recognized his beautiful emerald eyes. My heart sped up for a moment before I stepped away from him.

He cleared his throat. "Um hey."

"Hey," I said back.

"I'm Harry," he said.

"Yeah I remember," I told him.

He raised an eyebrow.

"Well I mean I only remember cause you didn't really say anything," I babbled nervously.

He nodded. "You lost?" Harry asked.

"Is it that obvious?" I asked sheepishly.

"Kinda. Where are you trying to go?"

"I am trying to find Breezie," I said.

"Oh ok that's not too far. I'll take you."

I smiled. "Thanks."

We walked in silence. I peeked up at him through my lashes to find him looking at me. Harry smirked and winked when he caught me looking at him. I blushed and looked at the ground.

"So do you fight?" I asked.

"Yeah I'm one of the best," Harry said arrogantly.

I rolled my eyes. Harry's phone started ringing. He pulled it out of his dark blue jeans and answered.

"Sup," he said.

He listened for a second.

"Yeah alright. I'm on my way."

He hung up and faced me. "I got to go. Breezie's office is the fifth door on the left."

"Oh ok thanks for Your help."

He nodded and started jogging off in the opposite direction. I watched him go before heading towards the door he had pointed out. It was half open and I opened it the rest of the way. Breeize was sitting in her chair but that wasn't what surprised me. What surprised me was seeing Niall leaning on her desk talking to her.

"Um hey?" I said.

Breezie looked like a deer caught in the headlights. "Oh hey!"

Niall straightened and smiled lazily at me. "Hey Summer."

He turned to Breezie. "I'll talk to you later."

She blushed.

"See Ya," he said to me on his way out.

"So you and Niall huh?" I asked as I sat down in one of the mismatched chairs on the other side of her desk.

Her whole face turned red. "Its not like that... we are too different."

"You keep telling yourself that," I said.

She rolled her eyes. "You know you should get a day job."

"Why?" I asked.

She leaned forward with her elbows on the desk and looked
at me seriously. " You need a life outside of this. I like Liam. I really do but this is dangerous. The more you are around, the more you get involved. You are a smart girl. You are going somewhere with your life. Don't let what your brother doe bring you down."

"If you feel that way then what are you doing here. You are just as smart as me," I said.

"Cause I have nowhere else to go."
