No Remorse

Three

I could taste my morning breath when I breathed, how charming. I thought to myself. My body ached the similar pains of a hangover, even though I was far from it. It took much motivation to leave my bed this morning, but only for some aleve. Which hardly had an effect to my tense muscles.

My eyes scanned the apartment... Bills on the coffee table, keys on the counter, and some left over Chinese from what I can remember in the fridge. My apartment lacked colour, creativity and human touch. As I only used it from a place to crash and store some clothes and belongings.

People say I close myself off from the world, the only interests I take are being a by-standard. I have a reputation to watch, not act, say or do. Which doesn't bother me. Bonnie tries to change my mindset, but it never works. Sometimes, I question why she still tries anymore.

My eyes flickered to the my aging samsung, buzzing across the coffee table, Bonnie's name lighting across the cracked screen. Instinctively I answer.

"Bonnie?" I ask quietly. Heavy breathing submerged through the speaker.

"Morning," she groaned. Quickly, I tilt my phone, which lights up my screen, date, and time.

"It's nearly two." I state obnoxiously to my obviously pained friend.

"Yeah, can uh - can I come crash at your place tonight? My rent.." She trailed off nervously. That's when I knew she didn't want to just crash the night.

"I kept reminding you to pay it, Bonnie." I scold, only to be responded with a sigh.

"How do you pay something with no money?" Her voice softened with the question. I took a moment of silence to reflect before agreeing.

"Bring your things," I suppress a sigh defeated.

"Thank you, Spencer." She thanked kindly before ending the call.

My hand released my phone back onto the coffee table, it's been awhile since I've heard someone call me by name.

Bonnie has already made herself at home since the other night. I noticed this instantly when the music pounded my ears to a pulp and my apartment was filled with sweaty bodies and alcohol. "Hey! You're here!" Bonnie's fake smile plastered her face.

"Don't sound too happy, it might kill you." I yell back over the music, being shoved by people moving around my small and closed space.

"Help yourself to some drinks, and mingle." Her tone was more threatening rather than gesturing. "Of course I'll help myself to my own drinks..." I bit back in a whisper.

"Look who we have here, gym girl. Or maybe party girl? Sorry, love. I don't know what to call you by since you seem to be missing a name every time we encounter."

Quickly turning to see him, Harry, standing there with his hand tucked into his front pocket of his blue jeans and the other free one holding a red cup. He smile fading when I glanced at his sleeve covered arms of ink, vining out from his dark tee.

"Why do you always stare?" He asked curiously. Making my eyes flicker up to his.

"I have to go," I quickly respond before running off to my room.

Managing to escape Harry, I turn the knob and push my door open only to reveal a busy couple on my bed, making my flinch at the sight.

"Unless you're joining us, leave." The blonde ordered from on top of the well fit boy.

I slam my door shut, and release an agitated huff. Annoyed by the fact my home, bed, and alcohol supply has been invaded by a bunch of strangers, Bonnie, and Harry.

"Don't you know to keep out of the bedrooms at a party, boxing girl?" His joke tone setting me off.

"Boxing girl?" I asked shyly.

"Still trying to figure it out." I noticed the playful smirk when I glanced up.

"I don't have a name." I choked before pushing passed him for the second time that night.

Notes

So I noticed it's been two months... And I am really sorry for that, and I have no excuses.
But here is an update, and I'd love to hear from you guys, please? :) so. You found out about her name, and a little bit more of her character. As you can see "Spencer" is sort of confusing to figure out since one minute she's sassy and upfront, the next she's shy and closed off. to be honest, I am still figuring her out too which is sad because I'm writing the character hahaha!

Any who, I am back. Ready for some updates?;)
