No Remorse

Four

The sun beamed through the messy apartment that once contained a few dozen bodies. Slowly my body turned around through the room to investigate the mess. Red cups littered any space of counter. Empty whiskey bottles carelessly thrown to the floor. The stench of sweat, smoke and alcohol breath was practically a stink bomb.
I bit my lip in thought, then quickly turned to my large windows, pushing open the drapes more, fighting through the blinding sun and pushing up the bottom frame of the thick glass to allow in fresh air. In the distance I could hear the car horns, the crowding streets and a few dogs bark every so often.

"Good morning," Bonnie yawned from a few feet behind me.

I turned to see her mascara smudged, her hair slowly going back to it's natural curl due to lack of showering the past few days, and the small hickies placed along the left side of her neck.

"I see you've started cleaning, good! I'll help after my shower." She beamed, making a straight exit back down the hall.

It pained me to know I'll be cleaning her mess in my apartment, but I felt myself going claustrophobic from the disaster.
Only and hour later, I was finished. Who takes an hour long shower? No one. Bonnie's shower ended nearly forty minutes ago, and I was just now hearing her foot steps reach the end of the hall.

There she stood, giving a puzzled look at the now organized space. Her hair now in natural locks, and a purple top hardly covering her chest was drooping from her shoulders. The love bites clearly hidden by makeup, as well as her face now transformed into someone else with beauty products.

"Oh, I'm sorry. You're finished already! In a way I'm glad though, because I'm going out. No need to wait on me, I'll be back late." Bonnie explained while escorting herself to the door.

"It's a Monday afternoon," I murmured.

"I know, Spence. Don't worry, I won't be doing anything stupid. Just meeting some," she took a moment to glance to the ground, only to let her eyes return to mine, giving me a devious smirk. "Friends."

That was the last I seen of Bonnie today, and I was exhausted from sitting around watching cartoons all day. I quickly grabbed a jacket after changing into some casual wear of jeans and a t-shirt, then snatched my keys and wallet.

I parked my car in front of the bank, staring at the familiar building before stepping out and locking the vehicle. Slowly, I walked inside. Remembering the route to the front desk.

"Good evening miss Morris, what can I help you with today?" The blonde asked kindly.

"How much is still saved in my account?"

"You never take much, miss. So nothing has changed in the last few months." The blonde reasoned, her tone sounding more serious.

I kept my stare on her until she had nodded and started typing away on her desktop, eyes carefully scanning the screen. "Well over a few hundred grand, miss." The blonde confirmed.
I felt the anxiety leave my chest, which allowed me to smile and say thanks before turning myself around and back out the door.

I rushed out of the revolving door, only to collide into someone's chest. Feeling the pavement catch me at the bottom of my quick fall.

"We really need to stop meeting like this," his voiced echoed through my memory. "Harry?" I asked before tilting my head upwards to see him smirking while offering a hand up.

"Thanks," I murmured, wiping the dust from my jeans.

"Now bank girl, eh?" Harry teased.

I stared questionably at him before remembering the building I had been so rushed to exit. Then only nodding before glancing towards my car.

"Well, nice chatting. I have places to be, so, see yeah." I could feel the choking in my hurried words before trying to pass the much taller body.

"Now, hold on!" Harry placed his palm in front of my path. The nerves in my stomach twisting like a switch had flicked them on.

I glanced upward to see him with eyes beaming. "Why don't we grab a drink?" He asked soon biting his bottom lip, which made me subconsciously ask myself if that was his nervous sign.

"I have to go home, Bonnie, she might not get -" "- Listen, love. Bonnie can take care of herself, I wouldn't be waiting around for her all night when she won't be coming home." Harry became serious with the subject, letting his bottom lip loose of grip from his upper row of whites.

"How do you know?" I asked stunned by his logic of Bonnie. "

"I've come to know Bonnie as someone who likes to have fun, but always knows where home is in the morning. Trust me, she'll be fine."

I believed that he made a convincing argument, but I was still uneasy of the thought of drinking with someone I hadn't known.

"What about a tea instead, love. Would that be better?" He asked, practically reading my thoughts.

I nodded in agreement, letting a small, but hardly noticeable smile form to my lips. "Sure."

"So she ate the worm?!" Harry asked astounded by my story.

I let myself laugh in amusement by the horrid look on Harry's face, "I told her to do it or I'd tell her mother on her about kissing a boy Jeremy from school!" Both Harry and I laughed until we had lost our breath.

"You're evil, you know that! Poor Bonnie only wanted her first kiss." Harry joked further, as I gave a true smile in return.

We had been sitting here for hours, talking about Bonnie's and I's childhood as well as Harry's and his sister's, along with a few mates I couldn't remember the names of.

"So is it too soon to know your name?" Harry asked, now staring at me in all seriousness.

My smile altered to a small frown, before I glanced at my cup of tea. I looked around the cafe nervously, before realizing it was now dark outside and the building was empty besides the worker that remained behind the counter.

"Another time," I gave a small teased smirk while glancing at him quickly.

He forced a quick smile before moving his attention to his hand that was currently wrapped around his cup.

"I have somewhere to be, so I have to go." His tone was serious again. He gave the look of someone bipolar.

"Alright," I nodded slowly.

Harry abruptly stood up before walking away, leaving his cup and I at the table. I felt confused, and slightly offended from his rude exit, but got up and left back to my car none-the-less.

The ride back was no issue, as with getting up a the steps towards my flat. I was growing exhausted from today's adventures, and was ready for rest. I turned the knob of the door to find it unlocked, believing Bonnie was home. Surely enough I slipped inside, finding the place empty, but Bonnie fast asleep in her room.

Harry was right I suppose, she's a girl who knows where her home his after the fun.

Notes

This chapter is somewhat longer :) I apologize for typos, I'm not one who enjoys reading back on my work because I'm just lazy I guess I don't know! Haha.

But, my friends, I'm sorry it's been another 19 days, I'm trying to get back into the routine, it's just hard you know?

So tell me what you's think. I haven't even gotten into detail about Harry, since he seems so nice to Spencer currently. Trust me, my explanation of the two characters on the page with my characters and cover photo will come into play next chappie. Well, with Spencer it's already been shown, but not much of Harry.

I. AM. RAMBLING.
