My Saviour

Kylie’s P.O.V
-Tuesday-
The physio held onto my arm as I walked slowly towards the door. I haven’t been out of this bedroom in so long, and now is my chance.
“Steady, are you feeling okay?” She asked me.
“Yeah, I just need to get there.”
“Don’t push yourself too hard.” Sarah, my physiotherapist, reminded me. I took a few more wobbly steps and made it to the door. I’m exhausted. I have literally walked from the bed to the door and I’m tired. I can’t believe I have to learn how to walk again. Yesterday was just making sure my legs are up to it and walking on the spot, and now I’m walking in straight lines. “Right, I’ll open the door; you try and walk to the next room, okay?” She suggested and I nodded. She opened the door for me and supported me as I tried to walk to the bedroom that I once called mine. I could hear Harry and the boys downstairs, probably working on the panic room but Sarah has told me we’re not looking at stairs until at least Thursday, especially the way I’m going. I made it to the bedroom and leant against the wall, my legs hurting a lot. Not walking much in months had made my legs seize up and now it’s hard to walk a few metres. “How are you feeling?” Sarah asked.
“It hurts,” I said, touching my pelvis where the fracture is.
“It will for the first few days. Have a break here and then we’ll get you back in bed and do some leg exercises okay?” She said and I nodded. I stood there for 5 minutes and then we went back to the bedroom. I sat down on the bed and she helped me get my legs in before moving them up and down and improving mobility. The pain is so much, I feel like I’m about to die, and I know what that feels like. Why did all this have to happen to me? After around 15 minutes of leg exercises, Sarah decided to call it a day. “I’ll see you tomorrow Kylie, don’t try and walk unless Harry is supporting you and only walk to the bathroom okay? Don’t push yourself. Get Harry to carry you back if it hurts too much. I’ll be back at 10 tomorrow,” She collected all her things and walked out, waving to me. A few minutes after she left, Louis came in.
“Harry asked me to come check on you, are you okay? Not too sore?” He questioned.
“I’m okay, in a little bit of pain but that’s normal.” I smiled at him. He came over and hugged me.
“I hate seeing you like this babe,” He sat next to me.
“I hate being like this,” I sighed. “But I’m on the road to recovery now, I’ll be running before you know it,” I tried to lighten the mood.
“What did Sarah say?” He queried.
“That I shouldn’t walk unless Harry is supporting me and to only walk to the bathroom, if it hurts too much he has to carry me back in here.” I repeated what Sarah had said to me.
“Okay, I’ll tell H. Text one of us if you want anything, we’re just downstairs.” He smiled, getting up and walking out. I turned on the TV and smiled seeing Grey’s Anatomy was on. I’m seriously getting back into my obsession of this. I used to love it when I was younger, and never thought it would still be on, on its 9th season. Once Grey’s finished, I decided to go to sleep because it might stop some of the pain and I’m so tired from walking.
“Hey beautiful,” Harry said as I opened my eyes.
“When did you come in here?” I questioned.
“About an hour ago, the boys left and I decided to come and check on you but you were asleep so I left you alone,” he replied and I nodded, sitting up. “Sarah said you did really well today, I caught her on the way out. I’m proud of you Ky. She’s gonna get you walking slowly on the treadmill tomorrow to try and build up some strength before attempting stairs. She said it will be hard for you, but you need to do it.” He told me and I agreed. The road to recovery was never going to be easy. I just have to get mobile again by Friday.
“What if I can’t walk downstairs by Friday?” I turned to Harry.
“My mum is coming to stay here until you’re completely mobile and running. I don’t want you on your own in case you fall over, it would just have me worried all the time. Mum was pleased to do it.” He replied.
“Are you sure? I don’t want to be a hassle.” I responded and he shook his head.
“You’re anything but that Kylie, she really likes you and she doesn’t want you here on your own either. I get that your mum left, but my mum loves you like her own child. You don’t need your mum, you have mine.” He assured me and I gave in. Anne is really nice, and she does really care for me. When I was in hospital and Harry had to go back on tour, she was there. She’s supported me through the toughest time of my life, and I’m really grateful. I must admit I was surprised when she didn’t hate me for being the reason her son got shot and nearly lost mobility in his left arm, but she didn’t. She was nothing but supportive, and that means so much to me.
Harry and I had dinner and watched some TV together, which seems to be our routine now that I can’t get out of bed. After a few hours of watching TV, I attempted to walk to the bathroom. It hurt so much, my pelvis was killing me. I managed to do what I needed to do in the bathroom before getting Harry to carry me back. I hate not being able to do anything myself. I’m practically a cripple. It’s horrible. I just hope Sarah can get me up and walking again by Friday. I went to sleep once I was back in bed, praying that I’ll be mobile enough to not hassle Anne as much as I hassle Harry.

I'm back. Right, I will get there at some point. Writer's block sucks. I'm off for summer now but have work for 2 weeks and then I'm off for 7 weeks so I should be updating a lot more, that is if I can get over my writer's block. I hope you like this chapter.
