Apocalyptic Love

We're Not Going Anywhere

Hospital in Beijing, China

(No one’s POV)

Joseph Fieldds, an American scientist is doing research on a new flu-like cold going around Asia. Like a common flu, the virus is not deadly, nor anything serious, just a little irritating. He walks into the hospital in a black suit carrying a dark brown briefcase in his right hand.

He automatic glass doors slide open, allowing Joseph to come in. He then walks into the testing room . There waiting for him are twenty five people with the virus. Each person will get a different antidote and Joseph wants to find out which one is the most efficient. He injects each antidote into a different patient and heads out to his car.

He is just about to drive back to his five star hotel when a panicked nurse comes rushing and violently knocking on his window.

“Mr. Fieldds! Mr. Fieldds! Come quick! Please!” She yells. He runs back into the hospital not bothering to lock his Ferrari door.

When he walked into the testing room he was shocked at the scene. No one was moving except the nurses who were putting Patient Seven in a dark black leather body bag. Joseph was too late.

Joseph walked down stairs to the morgue with the nurses very unhappy at the outcome of his antidote. He was deep in thought about what could have gone wrong when all of a sudden he notices something that the nurses hadn’t. The body in the bag was still moving.

All of a sudden the body bag rips open and Patient Seven bites a nurse.

That is how to virus that spread across the world, killing 99.8 percent of the population, began. All thanks to Joseph Fieldds, and Patient Seven.

Lia’s POV

Each name I read felt like a bullet to the heart.

Ed.

Bam. A shot to my chest.

Lana.

Another one.

Eric.

The final shot.

My head is spinning.

I can’t do it anymore.

The world is black.

Harry’s POV

Oh My Gosh. I don’t even have time to feel. I can’t think about who we lost. Right now, I have to help Lia. She’s on the floor. Think she passed out. Oh gosh, what do I do?

I kneeled down and stroked her hair.

“Lia? Lia! Wake up!” I felt for a pulse. It was faint, but it was there.

“What do I do? What do I do?” I said to myself. All of a sudden somebody appears from the woods. Kisa.

“What are you doing?!” I asked.

“Looking for you guys!” She yelled.

“Help me!” I said.

“With what?” She asked. I pointed at Lia.

“Oh my god! I didn’t even see her.

“Does she have a pulse?” She asked as she knelt beside Lia.

“Yeah, but it’s hardly there.”

“She’s probably having a panic attack.” Kisa said.

“How do you know?”

“I was a paramedic before all this happened.” She said, gesturing to the world.

“What do we do about it?” I asked.

“Well she needs water.” She said, “Give me some.”

“That’s the thing.”

“What’s the thing?” She said with an annoyed look on her face.

“Well, you see..”

“Hurry up and tell me.”

“We don’t have any water.” I blurted out.

“So you’re saying we’re stuck out here, in the wilderness, with zombies, and an unconscious girl, a three year old toddler, and you don’t have any water?”

“Yep.”

“Well this is bad.”

Alfie’s POV

Kisa said she would go look for Lia and Harry. We told her we needed to stick together but she insisted. Now the only people we have are Liam, Louis, Zayn, Niall, Blake, and me. We’re missing four other people. Why does this have to happen to us. Kisa is pretty good at tracking so I think she’ll be fine.

“I haven’t picked up anything. No tracks, no clues, no anything.” Zayn said.

“Me either,” added Liam.

“Well we only lost them a couple hours ago so they couldn’t have gotten that far,” said Louis.

“Maybe they went up that way,” I said pointing to something shiny I saw laying in the dirt.

Kisa’s POV

From my paramedic training I know that someone who had just had a panic attack needs water. I’m such an idiot why didn’t I bring any?

“Well?” Harry said looking at me.

“What?”

“What do we do about Lia?”

“We can’t do anything.”

“Do you mean she’s going to die?”

I chuckled slightly. “No but when she wakes up she’s not going to be in the best shape.”

“So that’s all we can do?”

“Yep.” I said.

“Should we keep looking for them?” Harry asked. “I could carry Lia.” I looked down at her. Harry was stroking her hair. She was SUPER skinny from the lack of food so he could probably carry her very easily.

“Yeah I think it’s best to keep moving.” I said.

Harry’s POV

Now that I know Lia was okay the reality hit me. Three people were dead. I didn’t know Lana and Eric very well but I knew they were good people who didn’t deserve to die. On the other hand I had known Ed very well and he was such a great person. Who knows, maybes he’s with his wife and baby now.

I gently picked Lia’s tiny, fragile body off the floor. She was super light even with her heavy leather boots and jacket. Her sword was still on her belt and I don’t think she would be too happy with me if I touched it.

I could feel every bone in her body. With months and months of not eating enough, it affected her a lot. It affected all of us.

I lightly kissed the top of her head. I love her so much. She shouldn’t have to go through all this. First her parents, who knows where they are, then her brother, and now three people who I could tell she liked very much.

“Harry!” Kisa yelled at me, breaking my thoughts.

“What?” I said, annoyed.

“Look,” She said quietly with a smile on her face. I looked up and there they were. All six of them. Six of my best friends. Even though we had only been separated for almost four hours, it felt like four months. I smiled and ran to my best mate Louis with Lia in my arms.

“I’m so glad to see you guys!” I exclaimed. “Does anybody have any water?” They handed me various bottles, but I took Blake’s because his was closest. I gave Lia water and still held her in my arms.

“What happened?” I said.

“What do you mean?” said Niall.

“What happened to the three?” I said, talking about Ed, Eric, and Lana.

“It’s a long story.” Said Louis sadly.

“We’re not going anywhere.” Said Kisa.
