Apocalyptic Love

Harry’s POV

I could tell by everyone’s facial expressions that they were surprised. She hadn’t spoken in days and that’s the first thing she said. Even though I don’t think anyone felt comfortable with it, we didn’t have the heart to argue with her.

“Well someone else has to go too.” Louis said.

“I will.” I volunteered.

“Okay then it’s set. Lia and Harry will go.” Louis reached down and opened one o the compartments in the front area. He pulled out a walkie talkie and tossed it to me. “You’re going to need this.”

I caught it and stuffed it in my pocket. Lia and I then climbed out of the car. We walked behind and opened the trunk. She grabbed her sword and I grabbed a handgun from the gun bag. We then closed the trunk. I waked up to Louis’ window and he opened it.

“Okay just go in, check around and then tell us if it’s clear. If you need anything just talk to us. We have the other walkie talkie right here. If you aren’t back in ten minutes we’re going in. Try to get in and out as quickly as possible, okay?” I nodded and he closed his window.

I jogged up to Lia who was already headed to the R.V. Louis had parked about five minutes away, just in case.

When I finally met up with her she was swinging her sword around in circles. I looke down and noticed her brown boot was untied.

“You boot’s untied.” I said. She looked down and stopped to tie it.

“Lia. Why did you volunteer?”

“What’s it to you?”

“Lia.”

“What?”

“Remember what happened last night?”

“I don’t remember anything.”

“You kissed me.”

“On the cheek, it doesn’t count. And it was only because you gave me that blanket.”

“You told me I was the best.”

“That doesn’t mean anything.”

“Okay.” I said laughing. I guess my laugh is contagious because that made her laugh too.

“You have a nice laugh.” I said to her. “I don’t hear it a lot.”

“Thanks. You too.” She said quietly.

“I want to hear more of that laugh. Why did the golfer carry around two shirts?”

“I don’t know Harry. Why did the golfer carry around two shirts?” She said with a smile on her face.

“Just in case he got a hole in one!” I said That made her laugh loudly.

“You’re so stupid!” She said playfully punching my shoulder.

“Na ah!” I said in defense, still laughing.

Soon enough we approached the dark, dirty R.V. I glanced around it, looking for any signs of residence. It looked like it hadn’t been touched in forever.

“I think we should scan the perimeter first.” Lia said.

“Yeah that’s a good idea.” I agreed. After that we started walking around the small R.V. Nothing but empty beer cans and weeds.

“Okay should we go in now?” She asked. I could tell she had a hint of nervousness in her voice.

“Yeah. And don’t worry. It looks like this place hasn’t been touched in ages.” I said reassuringly. She smiled and nodded.

I stepped in front of her and looked back and gave her a thumbs up. She smiled.

I took the handle of the R.V. and with my gun in hand, slowly twisted the knob. I stepped inside, the floor creaking under my feet. It was completely dark in there but I know Lia was behind me because I could hear her feet.

I looked around me and all I could see was nothing. The lights weren’t on. I reached my arms out to find the switch when all of a sudden the lights were on.

I felt my arms being pulled behind my back and my hair being grabbed and pulled. There was a hand over my mouth and now I’m tied to a chair. A big guy comes up and puts his hands in my pockets. He takes my only weapon, my gun and then the walkie talkie.

As I glance around the room I see another bigger man holding Lia’s arms behind her back with a huge knife to her throat. Her sword was nowhere in sight and I all I could see was she utter fear in her eyes.

“Lia!” I yelled. That’s when the same guy that searched me put a dirty red bandana over my mouth so that I could say anything.

“Harry!” She yelled back. The guy behind her yanked her hair and pressed the knife closer to her throat.

“Don’t do that again pretty. Got it?” He said in a dark voice. She nodded a little.

“Chuck they’ve got a walkie talkie. Do you want me to talk to whoever these guys are with?”

“Yeah.” Said the other guy. “And make sure to tell them that we’ll kill these kids if we don’t get all their supplies.

“Kay boss.” The guy then turned on the walkie talkie and Louis’ voice rang through.

“Harry? Is that you? Are you and Lia okay?”

“Look whoever we are we’ve got Harry and Lia or whatever their names are. If you don’t give us everything you have we’ll kill em’. It’s that simple.” The guy said.

“Louis who is that your talking to?” Kylie’s little girl voice said.

“Kylie shhhhh.” Liam said to her.

“Who was that?” The guy yelled.

“Nobody.” Louis said quickly. The guy covered the walkie talkie so the guys could no longer hear.

“Chuck they’ve got some little girl named Kylie.” He said. Chuck seemed to think about that little fact for a while.

“Alright. Take her.”

“Harry! They’re going to take her!” She yelled at me, tears forming in her eyes. The big guy then grabbed her hair once more and yanked harder than before, causing her to cringe.

“I said, don’t do that AGAIN!” He yelled through his clenched teeth.

“Sorry.” Lia whispered, tears falling from her eyes.

The guy once again got back on the talkie with Louis.

“We want to girl. Or they’re both going to die.” He said sternly. There was dead silence on the other line. It seemed like hours until they finally said something.

“Okay.”
