Apocalyptic Love

Lia’s POV

I was in the back when BAM! I heard the doors break open. Ian wasn’t here to protect me so I had to fend for myself. One was about to grab me when I see its head fall clean off. The most beautiful person I had ever seen in my life emerged from behind it. He said one word.

“Run.”

*Flashback*

Ugh. Today was Monday and I had to go to school. It’s not that I don’t have any friends or hate school, it’s just that I really don’t like sitting in one spot for hours at a time. I got out of bed and went to the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror. Same old bright blue eyes, slim figure, long wavy chocolate brown hair, and tall self. I brushed my teeth, washed my face, and combed my hair. I opened my closet and pulled on this: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=69148050 . I walked downstairs with my backpack in hand.

My mom was making pancakes and my dad and brother were watching highlights from last night’s game.

“Lia, Ian, and Jerry breakfast’s ready!” My mom called. We all headed toward the table. Ian is my brother, Jerry is my dad, and my mom’s name is Kathy. I cut my pancakes and poured syrup on them.

“Mom, these pancakes are the best!” Ian said.

“Kathy, your son’s right.” Dad said with a mouth full of pancakes.

“I agree.” I said.

“Thanks guys.” My mom said. While we were enjoying our pancakes we heard a beeping noise coming from the TV. We all turn and pay attention to a pretty blonde news lady.

“Breaking news, we have received word from several sources that a virus is heading across the US. The virus is said to be turning people into, a popular used term by young men and women, zombies. The virus is contagious when you get bitten by one of these flesh eating beings. Officials say stay inside until it all dies down. This is Ann Glendale TYP 6 News.” We all looked at one another.

“I bet this is all some joke.” Said my dad. All of a sudden we hear the tornado alarms go off. Since we live in Missouri we have those. We go to the window but we see no sign of a tornado or storm. All we see is police cars and fire trucks. We all look at each other once again. My mom and my dad give each other a panicked look.

“Kids, get in the car.” My mom and dad said at the same time.

“But mom we have to get to school.” Ian said.

“Just get in the car we’ll be out in a few minutes with some things.”

“But mom-“ she cut him off.

“Just do as I say Ian!” We hurriedly rush to the car. We both take the middle row of seats and wait patiently. A few minutes later Mom and Dad come out. They put a few suitcases in the trunk and then take the drivers and passengers seats. Dad starts the engine and starts driving.

*End of Flashback*

“Run.” I do as he said. I burst through the back doors of the grocery store carrying a bag of supplies. He follows close behind me. After about ten minutes of non-stop running we finally arrive at Ian and I’s little camp site for the time being. I plop the bag on the ground. I breathe heavily and he does the same.

“Thanks.” I say in between breaths.

“You’re welcome.” He said in a deep raspy British accent.

“Who are you?”

“Harry.”

“Okay Harry, could you expand on that?”

“Well my full name is Harold Edward Styles. I’m from Cheshire England and 18 years old.”

“Well Harry if you’re from England why are you here?”

“I was visiting America.”

“Do you have a group?”

“Yeah, my mates.”

“How many?”

“Four.”

“Names and ages.”

“Zayn Malik, 20, Liam Payne,19, Niall Horan,19, and Louis Tomlinson, 21.”

“Where are they now?”

“Back at camp.”

“Where’s your camp?”

“Nor far, maybe fifteen minutes.”

“Hmm.”

“Well what’s your name and tell me about yourself.”

“Well my name is Lia Chatsman and from St. Louis Missouri I’m 19 and I travel with my brother Ian.”

“That’s nice.”

“Well Harry, lead me back to your camp it seems you can be an important resource to my group.” I said with a smirk on my face.

“Will do.” He said laughing.
