Finding Georgia Rose

Chapter Nine

Harry’s POV
It had been a couple of weeks since Grimmy had asked Georgie to be his girlfriend and he for some reason he hadn’t set right with him. It wasn’t because of the age difference because after Harry had spent a few weeks together he noticed that Georgie was an old soul. She was nineteen physically but mentally she was thirty. She did enjoy going out clubbing every once in a while but she actually rather just stay home and curl up with a movie and her significant other. He couldn’t place why he wasn’t completely okay with the relationship but he tolerated it because he could see a change in Georgie that was for the better. Today however Harry was getting to spend some time with his much needed new best friend since they were both busy with different things.

“Hazza!” Georgie exclaimed as she opened the door to her uncle’s flat.

“Hey Georgie,” Harry chuckled as she hugged him, “You’re in a good mood.”

“I just got great news about an hour ago!” she exclaimed grinning widely.

“What?” he asked.

“Radio 1 offered me a permanent position like Delilah’s!” she exclaimed grinning widely which made Harry grin widely.

“That’s great news love!” Harry exclaimed hugging her tightly, “So are you going to. . .”

“I was going to withdraw from school after lunch with you actually. . .” Georgie said sheepishly and Harry just shook his head.

“I cleared my schedule for today so we’re going to do it now and then I’m taking you out for lunch and then you’re going to call Grimmy and I’ll call everyone else and we’re going to a club to celebrate!” Harry said grinning.

Georgie looked like she was about to protest but sighed and Harry grinned in triumphant.

“Let’s get this over with,” Georgie grumbled grabbing her bag off of the kitchen counter and they headed out to Harry’s car.

They didn’t have to spend much time at the university and soon they were headed to their favorite lunch spot. Tammy had eased up on letting Harry see Georgie since she started dating Grimmy so he took every opportunity he could to hang out with her.

“So how are things with Tammy?” Georgie asked after they ordered their food.

“Alright,” Harry said shrugging his shoulder, “I don’t know Georgie maybe I was wrong with believing her so quickly.”

“Why do you say that?” Georgie asked and Harry picked up on her nervousness.

“I don’t know,” Harry said, “It’s just the things she said at the party and how she acts now is completely and utterly different. At that party she was so kind and considerate of others and so many people came up to talk to her because they recognized her. She actually reminds me of you quite a bit.”

“Really?” Georgie asked shocked.

“Yeah,” Harry said wondering why Georgie was so nervous about it.

“Maybe you just see her when Tammy has a bad day,” Georgie said.

“Maybe,” Harry said, “So how are things with one of my best mates?”

“Good,” Georgie said and Harry watched her cheek flush lightly, “He’s a complete gentleman.”

“He must really fancy you love,” Harry said, “Because I’ve never seen Grimmy so smitten with a bird before.”

“That is true,” Georgie said looking down at the table and then smiled, “I kind of like this new Grimmy instead. He’s such a sweetheart Haz.”

“Oh really now?” Harry asked smiling at how happy and giddy Georgie got as she went on explaining on how sweet Grimmy was to her.

However he couldn’t ignore the jealous tugs that were playing on his heart as he listened to how happy Georgie was. Harry couldn’t understand where this was coming from but he was sure in the fact that he wanted to make Georgie happy and glow like she was now. The rest of lunch was the playful banter that Harry and Georgie always had when they were together and it helped take both of their minds off of love lives. Lunch had ended and Georgie had agreed to go to the coffee shop a couple of blocks from her uncle’s flat complex. Harry and Georgie were just laughing and acting like goofs when Georgie’s phone started ringing and she quickly answered it.

“Hello,” Harry heard her answer and before she could hear the rest of the conversation his phone started ringing as well.

“Hello,” he replied.

“Hey babe,” Tammy’s voice was on the other line, “How’s your time with Georgie?”

Harry could still hear the bitterness in Tammy’s voice when she had to say Georgie’s face but he ignored it.

“It’s going good,” Harry said, “I do have plans for us though.”

“Oh what are they?” Tammy asked shocked.

“We’re going to go to a club and celebrate the job that Georgie just got at Radio 1,” Harry said, “I invited the lads and their girlfriends and Georgie is going to bring Grimmy.”

“Harry. . .” Tammy whined and Harry sighed.

“Please Tams,” Harry said, “For me? I’ll make it up to you when we get back to your place.”

“Fine,” she sighed dramatically, “Text me what time you’re going to pick me up.”

“Okay,” Harry replied, “See you soon babe.”

“See you soon,” she said and they hung up.

Harry spun to see that Georgie was talking harshly to someone.

“But I really want you there Grimmy,” Harry heard Georgie say, “You do this all the time. . .Fine, I understand. . .Yes I’ll see you tomorrow for dinner with your mum. . .Yeah that’s fine I’ll be ready early so we can spend some time alone at your flat.”

Harry watched as Georgie sighed and hung up.

“Grimmy can’t make it,” Georgie said quietly, “Apparently he has breakfast with his family tomorrow morning and doesn’t want to be hung over.”

“But he’s always gone to his family breakfast hungover,” Harry said shocked and he watch Georgie shrug her shoulders.

“I guess he wants to make a change,” Georgie said, “But that’s okay we’ll have fun without him.”

Harry saw past Georgie’s fake smile but decided to ignore it and grabbed her hand.

“Why don’t we head back to the flat and I let you get ready and then I’ll have Niall and Olivia come get you?” Harry asked and Georgie smiled gratefully at Harry.

“Sure,” she smiled.

They walked back to the front of the flat complex and Georgie smiled lightly at Harry.

“Harry. . .” Georgie started.

“Yeah Georgie,” Harry said as they walked into the building.

“Don’t give into your gut feeling just yet but don’t forget them either,” she said kissing Harry’s cheek, “Thanks for today Harry. Be safe on the way back to your flat.”

Harry had no clue where that bit of information came from but he was definitely going to get to the bottom of that statement.
