Wow. Okay, first off Happy Belated Birthday! Damn, I’m a day late (this review was written late at night on the 8th). You asked me for a review over a month ago, but I hope you had a great birthday and enjoy this review. :)
Is there a specific reason that you italicize most of your last paragraphs? I get that sometimes authors use italics to put emphasis on a word or two, or a phrase even, but do you really need to emphasize the last paragraph in every chapter? It doesn’t bother me to the point that I want to bang my head against the wall, as in other cases, but I was just wondering if there was some sort of reasoning behind that. Other that that, however, your grammar is nearly flawless and your detail is on point.
I see ways that some might call this story typical, but I actually really love it! I almost forgot I was writing a review for it as I thought I had just picked out an amazing read, like how have I not read this before? Seriously. Sometimes Harry’s attitude toward Lucy kind of pisses me off, especially when he makes the same stupid mistakes, but they’re really cute.
Sometimes, though, there were gaps between your chapters, and I had to go back and make sure I had clicked the right chapter. It made me feel like there were things missing in the story even though there really wasn’t. Be sure to transition into your chapters so that they flow nicely with each other in the future. It wasn’t too bad, but I did get a little confused as a first time reader.
Overall, I absolutely adore the story! I’ve admitted before that I get quite sick of the romances, especially the cheesy ones, but it is stories like yours that keep me borderline between loving and hating the genre. I’ve hit subscribe and can’t wait for more. xx
If you find your review to be disappointing, I cannot honestly tell you that I’m sorry. Do not let what I say in any way discourage you from writing or anything for that matter. I am just one person with strongly opinionated views on everything. If I made it clear that I strongly dislike your story, do not think that other people won’t enjoy it. There are many other readers with different views than me who will find interest in your story where I may not have. I hope you do take something out of this and improve on and continue your writing, but if you don’t, that’s fine too.
