Chapter 12
Harry’s POV:
She looked gorgeous. She was just wearing a sweater and she managed to make my heart race. I was in the backseat with Jessica, some dumb blond that I picked up at the end of the school day, just to make Gabriella mad. That was the dumbest thing I had ever done, but she was going with Liam.
Liam opened the door for her and she got in. She looked back at me and gave my a fake smile, “I’m Gabby, and you are?” She questioned Jessica.
“Jessica.” She answered.
“Oh, nice to meet you.”
Jessica just mumbled at her, which made me mad. I wish she would be nice to Gabriella. Liam started to drive away and took us to the football field. I got out of the car and held out my hand to Jessica. She accepted and I pulled her out of the car. I dropped her hand and wrapped my arm around her shoulder. I could see Gabriella looking at us. I wish I hadn’t done this, but I had and I needed to keep it up.
The night was going smoothly, we were watching the game, and I understood nothing. I didn’t get what a touchdown was or anything like that. I didn’t care about sports. I kept whispering in Jessica’s ear and slyly looking at Gabriella for her reaction. The last few times, she hasn’t noticed. She was too busy talking and laughing with Liam. I was jealous. I took Jessica and pulled her closer. I cupped her face in my hands and kissed her. I looked up at Gabriella and saw that she was looking at us. I smirked. She pushed through us and started walking down the bleachers. I followed closely behind her.
She was walking through the parking lot when I called out to her, “Gabriella!”
“Leave me alone, Harry.” Her voice was shaky.
“Wait! Seriously, stop!” I ran to catch up with her.
She picked up the pace, but I was fast. I came up behind her and grabbed her arm.
She pulled out of my grip, “Get off me.”
I put my hands in the air, “Sorry. I didn’t mean to grab you like that.”
She turned around and continued to walk. “Where are you even going?”
“Home.”
“You cant walk there.”
“Watch me.”
“Gabby, please.” I wanted her to know I was her friend.
She stopped walking and turned to me, “My friends call me that. I am Gabriella to you.”
I rolled my eyes and she continued to walk, “I don’t get why you’re mad.”
She shrugged, “I’m not mad.”
“You’re acting like it.”
“I’m jealous.” Well that was easy to get out of her.
“Why?” Why was she jealous of me?
“Because I’m jealous that you came with her, that you kissed her, that you would rather be with her. You don’t even know her.”
I smiled. “You’re jealous huh?”
She rolled her eyes, “I like how you find this amusing.” She was still walking really fast.
“I don’t. I mean I do, only because you came here with Liam.”
“I did not! He gave me a ride here. It wasn’t like a date.”
“That’s not the point.”
She laughed, “Yes it is. You have had your arm around her all night and you’ve been whispering and laughing.”
We were walking on the road now, shit. “Gabriella, stop walking! God damn it!” I yelled.
She jumped a little and stopped walking. I grabbed her hand and pulled her back into the parking lot. She pulled her hand out of mine when we got into the parking lot. I wish she hadn’t. I wish I wasn’t so stupid.
“I didn’t mean to make you jealous.” I tried to explain.
“Shut up.”
“What?”
“Just shut up for a second.” She was looking at me weirdly.
I stopped talking and she just looked at me, with her big brown eyes looked up at me.
Her mouth opened but closed soon after. She opened her mouth again and words came out, “Kiss me.”
I laughed, “What?”
She took a step closer, “I said, kiss me.”
“Gabriella, you-“
“Do it.”
I stepped forward and pulled her closer by the waist. My lips lightly brushed hers. Her hands clasped around my neck as her lips pushed down harder on mine. Her lips tasted even better than I ever thought.
