Chapter 11
Harry’s POV:
I saw Gabriella shrug at Liam. I smiled at them both. Liam looked like a dumbass without his lip ring in. Why the fuck did he take it out? And why was he hitting on Gabriella? How did she get to school if her car was here?
Liam broke the awkward silence first, “We are?”
I nodded, “I really want to see what high school football is like.”
Gabriella rolled her eyes, “You are in for a treat then.”
Liam’s eyes widened, no one ever talked to me like that. “How are you going to get there, Gabby?” Liam asked.
“Drive?”
“I’ll pick you up if you want.” He offered. How can he do this right in front of me?
I rolled my eyes and made a gagging noise. Gabriella shot me a dirty look and I smirked.
I looked down the hallway, “Zayn! Come here mate!”
Gabriella’s eyes looked worried and she looked to Liam and mouthed something. He nodded at her.
Zayn come over to her locker, “What’s up?”
I smiled at him, “We are just hanging out with Gabriella.”
Zayn looked from Gabriella to me, “Okay? Why do you need me?”
Gabriella talked before I got the chance to answer him, “Zayn, I am so sorry for what I said to you freshman year, I didn’t know it was you and I just, that was a complete bitch move. I can understand why you hate me.”
Zayn laughed, “I don’t think you’re a bitch and I certainly don’t hate you.”
Gabriella smiled at him. I saw Niall talking to Louis and before I knew it, the bell rang.
I looked to Gabriella, “We have health now, let’s go.”
She rolled her eyes and closed her locker. I stood at the head of the group and the boys were behind me. I was hoping Gabriella would stand next to me, but she instead stood next to Liam. I heard some of their conversation.
“So where is your lip ring exactly?” I heard her ask.
“At home.” Well, no shit Liam.
The people parted as we passed through the halls, were we really that intimidating?
We got into the health room and took our seats. Gabriella pulled out her phone. She was avoiding talking to me and it was so cute.
“How are you?” I asked.
“Don’t.”
“Don’t what?”
“Act like you like me, when you don’t.”
“Who told you I didn’t like you?”
“I just know you don’t.”
“Did Liam say that to you, because I swear-“
“Shut up. Listen, he said to give you a chance, which I am not going to do. I deserve better than you. I do not have to change myself to be with a guy.”
“I never wanted you to change.”
I just wanted her to be mine.
Gabby’s POV:
I sighed, “I never said you wanted me to change. I just think I need to be alone for right now.”
I was lying. I really wanted to be with him. To know what his lips tasted like, to know how his arms felt like around my waist, to know what his morning voice sounded like.
He was looking at me, “Fine.”
He moved his chair a good two inches away from me.
“Really mature, Harry.”
“Thanks, I’ve been told I act older than my real age.”
I rolled my eyes. He drove me nuts. I wanted him to pick up the hints that I did like him, but I really wasn’t ready to get into something so serious.
Health class ended and the boys all waited for Harry. I wanted to talk to Liam, but I didn’t want to be seen with them all again. I hurried out in front of them, but they walked quickly behind me. I turned into my English room and looked up to go to my seat. I saw Quinton on the other side of the room from where he usually sits, which was next to me. He looked over to me at the door and looked down the desk immediately. I guess he was really afraid of Harry and what he was capable of doing. I didn’t blame Quinton for being afraid, because I was too. After all my classes were done for the day I stopped at my locker to pickup a few things before going home to get ready for the game. I saw Liam coming over to me.
“Hey, Gabby, should I pick you up at seven?”
I nodded, “That’s sounds great.” I smiled at him.
He walked over to be with Harry and the others and I saw Izzy coming from miles away.
“Gabs! Are you going tonight?”
I smiled at my best friend, “Yeah, Liam is picking me up at seven. I’ll meet you there?”
“Yeah! But Quinton wont like you going with Liam…”
“So? I am not with him anymore. Plus, me and Liam are just friends.”
“True.” She smiled at me, “So, see you there?”
“You bet.” I smiled back at her. She bounced off again and I walked out to my car. I got to my house and jumped into the shower. It felt so nice to be rid of Quinton and to actually have him not bothering me anymore. I got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around me. I thought I heard someone unlocking the front door. My father would always come home around this time. I missed seeing him everyday. I just wanted him to come home, even though I knew he never would. My mother drove him insane. It wasn’t her fault all the time though, and I tried not to blame her. He left us; he wanted nothing to do with us. I sighed and walked into my bedroom. I got on black leggings along with knee high black boots. I put on a black undershirt and threw on a white oversized sweater. I dried my long brown hair quickly and straightened it. I looked in the mirror and didn’t like how it looked. Oh well. The last thing to do was my makeup, which didn’t take long. Just some powder and eyeliner then a coat of mascara. It was 6:58 when I heard a knock on the door. I opened it and saw Liam. He was wearing dark jeans and a black sweatshirt. He looked pretty hot. I shook those thoughts form my head, because when we walked out to his car I saw Harry in the backseat with his arm around another girl.
