Who can you trust?

Who can you trust?

London is actually a pretty amazing place when you sit down and look at all the city offers. The entire car ride I was just caught in amazement looking at how different London is.
“This sure isn’t Colorado.” I said to myself while I watched Cierra and Perrie talk and laugh with each other through the rearview mirror.
“Did you say something?” Zayn asked me.
“Oh,” I said, “I was just saying that London is different from the states.”
He smiled at me, “I know. I’ve been to Colorado a few times.”
I shrugged, “Well, you’re famous, so I would suppose you’ve been all over the continent.”
All Zayn had to show for was another smirk as he kept his eye dead set on the road. All I had to keep myself entertained for the car ride was my books. I reached down into my bag and began to read. Before I could even get myself settled nicely into the book, I felt Cierra’s hands rip the object from my hand and squeal at the top of her lungs, “We’re here!”
Groaning, I pulled myself out from the car and walked around to the trunk to grab my belongings for the next couple of months.
“You don’t need to do that.” Zayn said as he popped the trunk open.
“He’ll take your bags, Mitchie.” Perrie agreed, “Besides, I have to get you girls in before the boys show up.”
Feeling uncomfortable, I objected calmly, “No, no. I’ll take my things. I wouldn’t feel like a decent human being if I made Zayn take my bags everywhere like Paris Hilton.”
A laugh emerged from all three of the people surrounding me. I tucked my hair behind my ear, feeling embarrassed that I had even said a word to them. I looked down at the ground and felt my cheeks flush bright red. Eventually, after the laughter had stopped they had seemed to notice how much it truly embarrassed me.
“Well, I mean if you want to take your things, I-I guess that’s okay.” Zayn blurted out as he placed the bags down onto the ground.
“Thanks.” I said, still looking down. I grabbed both of my huge luggage and followed Perrie as she led us to our rooms. She first placed Cierra in her room, and then took me to mine.
She opened the door, “This is the place. I hope you like it.”
I walked in as she followed close behind. The room was huge. Dark oak covered the floor. The walls were painted a lavender color. I looked and saw a master bathroom to my left. There were huge Plexiglas windows that were covered by satin curtains. My eyes finally met the large bed that was an off-white eggshell color, but it looked comfortable all the same.
“This is just amazing. You didn’t have to give me this room.” I said as I turned to face her.
She grinned and shrugged, “We never really use this room unless we have company over anyway. I figured you’d want an escape from reality for a while.”
Suddenly, it hit me. Cierra had told Perrie about my mother and my father. I wasn’t sure whether or not to be angry with her. I just looked at Perrie and waited a moment before talking. I turned and looked at the bed, “I guess I do.” I turned back to her, “Thank you.”
Perrie walked over and gave me a hug, “Anything for a friend.”
“A friend? You don’t really know me though.” I was shocked
“I know your name is Mitchie Fields. You were born March 2nd, 1994. Cierra just told me the basics about you.” She grinned and clapped her hands once.
My eyes grew wide open, “That’s, well, very creepy.”
She looked sort of embarrassed, “Sorry.”
“Oh, no,” I interrupted, “I didn’t mean to offend you. I’m just saying that no one really pays much attention to detail like that.”
Perrie chuckled to herself, “That’s going to change around here.” She waited a minute and let her words sink in, “Well, I’m going to go help Zayn with dinner! You can do whatever you want. My home is yours. Feel free to look around and I’ll see you at eight for dinner, okay?”
“Alright.” I agreed silently. With that, Perrie walked out of what was now my bedroom.
After about ten minutes of unpacking, I went to get myself ready. About halfway through preparing myself for the guests arrival, I heard my phone ring. I stuck my head from around the corner and checked the caller I.D.
Unknown
Part of me told myself ‘Don’t answer. You know it’s your father.’, but the other half told me ‘What harm could answering a phone do?”. Hesitantly, I picked up the phone.
“Hello?” I answered.
“Is this Mitchie?” That voice I dreaded to hear asked.
“Unfortunately. What the fuck do you want, you dick?” I nearly shouted at my father.
“Don’t talk to me in that tone!” He shouted.
“I’ll talk to you however the fuck I want. In case you haven’t noticed, I’m not a child anymore. I’m an adult. Maybe you forgot because you left, you prick.” I growled.
“I’m just trying to keep in contact with my kids. What’s the crime here?” He interrogated me.
“The crime is this. You didn’t want shit to do with me for almost three years, and now you want to make contact? I’m sorry, but you do not get that luxury, James. Life doesn’t revolve around your pathetic ass. Goodbye.” I snapped as I pressed end call.
There was a knock on the door. “Come in.” I said as I put my phone on charge, noticing the 10% battery life.
Cierra popped her head through the door, “I heard screaming. Is everything alright?” She silently asked me. I suppose she knew that my dad called.
“I’m fine,” I lied, “I just had to let out some frustration.”
Cierra could see I was lying, and went over to the bed where I had sat myself down to calm my nerves before dinner, “Mitchie, I know you’re lying to me.”
I placed my hands on my head, “I know.”
She put a reassuring arm around my shoulder, “Hey, chin up. That man isn’t worth the tears.”
“It still hurts, Cierra. He left, and now he wants to talk. God, I fucking hate him!” I said as I knocked my fist up against the bed post.
She patted my back, “I know, I know, Cierra. Hey, if it will help you feel better I got you something.”
I looked up, “What is it?”
She lifted up a red dress and put it on my lap, “I got it for the dinner party tonight.”
I smiled, “Thank you. It’s gorgeous.” I said as I lifted the dress up to examine it.
“Hurry up, the boys will be here any minute now.” She said as she got up to walk to the dining room.
