Philophobia
Chapter Seventeen
My eyes now glued to the threatening writing, appearing to look as if it were blood. My words hitting the bottom of my stomach, along with my throat.
'FOUND YOU' dripped to the point of dry across the only wall that managed to keep it's uphold. My only instinct was to walk closer, to examine the thick liquid. My brain trying to convince me it was just my imagination, toying with my grasp on what was real, and what wasn't.
"What are you doing?" His voice boomed from behind, realizing I'd forgotten his presence.
My heel quickly planting to the floor, as I turned to meet his intense gaze. He hadn't looked angry, frightened, mad, or even confused. He was simply neutral.
"It's blood, obviously. What more proof do you need than you're eyes?" His voice now echoing throughout the empty walls.
"You're going to argue with me on this, seriously?" My scoff only becoming more vocal.
"I think I'd rather discuss what the real matter is here, like how you're stupid actions got us here." His tone made me felt as if I were under question in court. Arguing with the lawyer as he presented his case, which I strongly disagreed with. The way he emphasized 'us' made my blood only boil.
"My actions got you here?" I corrected quickly. "You made me stay the night, as I was only wandering around for a late night walk -" "-you were lost!-" "you're full of yourself, I was not-" "admit it, Jamie. This is your fault!" He again boomed, which I then noticed how close our proximity had come. His breath now pressing against the skin on my forehead.
"So it's my fault, even though I'm positive you know who this is! Because whatever mess you got yourself into, you've decided to run. Which obviously, they found you. Not me, you!" My breathing was now erratic along with my adrenalin.
"You told me you were being watched," he states now much calmer. Being the one to control his anger, he leaned forward in a whisper. "You told me that there was people you've encountered, and they mysteriously just go missing. Admit it, Jaybird, you're being watched too." His lips carefully whispered against my ear, enough for me to just hear. As if I were to break if he were any further.
"Why are you bringing me into this?" My tone softened along with his. My eyes flickering up to meet his green, expecting his famous smirk, but was replaced with a serious frown of thought.
"I didn't, they did."
Notes
Apologies, it is short. But I just wanted to push in there the dramatic argument after. Because last chapter was already long.. Like it took me awhile to write! But, I might be able to update again today, there isn't a promise, just hope! Also, I'll be able to describe more of the story as it goes on. But now the major plot has come into detail, I just really wanted to take my time with the story. So now that the plot is out there, it should get more interesting!
Thanks for reading! <3
