Hope
Louis' POV:
I got in the car, hoping that I wasn't next to Samantha. She already gave me so much heartache and pain, but come to think of it, I was the one that started it, the one that cheated. She didn't deserve any of it. It was all my fault. She didn't deserve me.
"Where's Samantha and Niall?" Liam suddenly asked, and I wondered how I couldn't have known that they were missing. But then I remembered that I was just staring at my lap thinking depressing thoughts. I cringed at the thought of Sammie and Niall together. Why was love always so hard?
I jumped out of the car in anger, hoping to find Sammie alone. But then, as the other boys raced after me, I bumped into someone. And guess who? Samantha. Hand in hand with Niall.
I watched Niall's smile falter, and I was angry at his actions. Sad. Disappointed. Tears sprung in my eyes and Samantha bit her lip as she watched me shake. Wondering why I disapproved.
I turned around, pushing away Harry's hand on my shoulder, blocking everyone's concerned glances. I went to sulk in the car as Niall resumed his laughter, with everybody glaring disappointedly at him except for Samantha and I.

"So what should I get here?" Sammie asked Niall, grinning at his love for food. We were currently at Nando's, and I was crammed into a booth.
As Niall ordered (he ordered more than all of us combined), Sammie shifted in her seat, like she was nervous or something. She whispered in Niall's ear, and he appeared to be comforting her or something.
As food was placed on the table, Sammie attempted to smile but failed miserably and just cleared her throat. "Niall and I have something to tell you," Sammie said, her voice shaking but she steadied it. I saw their hands find each other under the table, and I clenched my jaw, stiffening very visibly.
"We..." Sammie was unable to finish, so she looked at Niall instead. "We've decided that we're in love and that we're going to have a relationship."
Gasps were heard all around the table, but mine was the loudest. Niall smirked at me, and the haunted words echoed in my head. "We've decided that we're in love and that we're going to have a relationship." They shared a kiss and I felt my body trembling. I stopped myself from punching Niall and instead walked towards the loo, hearing Niall ask, "What's his problem?" But he knew what my problem was. He was my problem. And before I shut the door behind me, I saw Sammie with tears in her eyes. Whether they were from happiness or sadness, I didn't know. But what I did know was that I was so close to giving up.
"Why? Why?" I screamed at the wall, and to my utter disappointment, it didn't talk back. It just stared at me even though it had no eyes. I didn't know, maybe I just wished that the wall, or anyone would tell me that this was just a horrid nightmare. And in reality, Sammie would be laying down in my arms, happy and content. But that wasn't going to happen.
I heard someone enter the loo, but I was just too busy glaring at my reflection in the mirror to notice who. And I felt Harry's hand rub my shoulder to comfort me, but it wasn't working.
"He said they were in love," I whispered to Harry, and he nodded, not saying anything. "I'd be better if he just said that they were dating. It could be a fling or something. But no, he's in love." This time, I broke down. I sobbed like there was no tomorrow, and I held my head in my arms, rocking forward and backwards. And Harry didn't say anything. Because he knew that no words were needed.
Usually, I let myself hope after a breakdown. In this situation, I would hope that even though Niall truly loved Sammie-- I could see it in his eyes-- that Sammie wouldn't love him back. But this time, I didn't let myself hope. Because each time I hope, everything goes wrong and I crumble. But this time would be different. Because this time, I truly believed that all hope was gone.
