The Ending.

Punishment.

Samanthas POV
I could feel my feet blistering from being rubbed drastically against the rough material as to which my shoes possessed. Tanya was trying to pull me through the awaiting crowds to enter more clubs but it was so hard for they were all running and cheering around us. I could feel her nails scraping against my skin but the pain was almost insignificant compared to my feet. Bodies were knocking back and forth into me and I felt Tanya’s pace pick up. How could she walk this fast in heels? And then before I knew it we were running.
Every time my foot touched the ground I bit my bottom lip harder, trying to distract myself from the pain I was encountering. Finally we came out of the crowd and a dark, empty street was before us. The houses looked completely torn and dishevelled. I could hear my heavy breathing as we paused for only a few minutes.
“Tanya what the hell is going on?” I spoke to her breathlessly as she kept looking around for something.
“No time to explain. I think the multi-story car park is over there.” She exclaimed and grabbed my arm again hard. I jolted from my spot and found my heels breaking off of my feet. Not caring for this I ran faster with Tanya. The grit from the pavement below was surfacing on the souls of my feet and it felt like walking upon a bed of nails. Her heels were clicking on the dirty stone and she quickly let her feet throw them off. “Too much noise.” Her lips said to me and I found my face screwing up from confusion. What was she talking about? Too much noise?
We carried on running until we came to a pathway. It was in-between two brown garden fences and at the end a small metal gate was placed. It signalled the entrance to the car park where our ride home awaited.
Tanya leaned against the fence to catch her breath a little before charging down the small path.
“Tanya!” I shouted but she was already nearing the end. Pulling my dress up I quickly ran down the path. Every step ached my limbs, my hair was already becoming wavy and knotty again. The curls dropping from the rush of wind as I moved. I could tell without looking I looked like a mess. The guy in the club, had been so creepy and forward it made my heart thud even faster. Tanya had told him to stay away. Was that why we were running? My hip hit the metal gate and I cursed from the pain it surged to that area. Taking a quick breath to ignore the hurt I pulled the gate open and heard it clang against the fence loudly.
“Come on Sam!” Tanya called as she waited for me in the middle of the car park.
“Why are we running!?” I shouted back but before I knew it a hand was on my hip, caressing the fabric of my dress. Turning quickly I saw the same guy from earlier. He reminded me so much of someone but I couldn’t quite figure it out form my dazed and blurry mind.
“Is your hip okay baby?” My heart thudded against my chest and I forced a kick into his shin. He grunted from it but barely showed any mercy. I ran as fast as I could away from him and Tanya’s eyes had widened once she saw him also running behind us.
“Quickly to the elevator!” She said shakily and strongly at the same time. My body was burning from the sudden amount of exercise I was doing. I had never been fit, but I was pretty certain anyone would be feeling the same way as I was right now.
I could hear his footsteps approaching and also a few more behind him. He wasn’t alone.
We threw ourselves into a blue door which was the entrance to the multi-story car park. It banged open but recoiled once hitting the wall into us. Tanya groaned from the hit onto her side but pushed me further ahead. Once I saw the red light above the metallic doors my heart raced harder. Quickly I ran over pulling Tanya with me and pushed on the buttons hard. The elevator was slowly making its way down as though it was trying to make everything as hard as it should be. Our breathing was extremely loud and flustered together. Tanya thudded with her fist on the doors as if her touch would magically pry them apart.
The door swung open right when the elevator did and Tanya threw me into them. She got in also and pushed the button to close the doors as fast as possible. As I lay on the floor breathing heavily they started to close. However a body lunged between them and pushed them back open again. It wasn’t the guy from the club. This one I hadn’t seen before. But he looked extremely frightening with his shaved head and bulbous eyes. His body was muscular and threatening and I felt his hand grab my ankle. I kicked my leg as furiously as possible but he clicked it hard in his hold and I winced from the now dislocated bones. He did it as though I was nothing to him. Like I was a piece of paper.
Tanya punched as hard as she could into the guys face and he turned to face her angrily. Seizing my moment I leaned forward and scraped my nails down his face before trying to push him away. I felt a strong hold on my arms and I was thrown against the side of the elevator. A pain rushed through my head and swirled my thoughts but I quickly pushed it away and replaced it with adrenaline.
“I don’t want you to kill her yet Tom.” A bored voice said in the background and my heart swelled with anger even more.
“Tanya. Press the floor button.”
“What?!” She screeched as she held on to the guys back trying to throw him out the doors. I rushed to them and hit him hard in the stomach but he easily pushed me away again. Suddenly the elevator shifted when Tanya hit the button and we started to move upwards. Quickly without hesitation I pushed the strong guy as hard as I could and Tanya joined whilst wrapping her arm around his neck. We looked like a pair of idiots trying to fight a bear. But it was the best we could do. We were about a foot off the ground when the doors started to shut and the man fell out backwards. He didn’t seem to be hurt when he hit the floor but I managed to catch a glimpse of his eyes angrily.
The doors closed and I leant my back against the wall as I slid down to the floor. Tanya did the same opposite me and we breathed fast and heavy for what felt like years.
“Tanya what is going on?!” I shouted crazily and she looked extremely nervous and scared herself.
“Well right now you need to know that. The guy in the club is called Max. He’s Chris’s brother and well ummm he wants you dead.”
My heart froze. My whole body froze. I could feel my mind wavering and every nerve burning under my skin. It was as though I could feel the rush of warm blood now being pumped around my aching body.
“What?” I said with disbelief and she tried to smile her usual smile at me but ended up looking destroyed.
“That’s all we have time for right now. Just don’t let him get you. When these doors open run straight to the car.”
I nodded quickly and wrapped my hand around my ankle. The bones weren’t broken but I knew it was going to be even harder to run when they were misplaced.
“What about you?” I said quietly and she smiled at me deviously.
“Oh I’m with you the whole way. Plus Harry would kill me if I let you out of my si-“
“He would not kill anyone!” I shouted before I knew what I was doing. Quickly I made myself look at the floor whilst fiddling with my fingers. My heart was still pounding against my tightening chest which made me feel light headed in the small space we sat in.
“Look this dream of yours Sam, it’s bad because of what Max made Harry do…” I looked at her suddenly and I felt my eyes glaring. Trying to find out what she was hiding. A jolt ran through me and the metal walls shook as we reached the floor we had parked on.
“How are we going to get out of here?” I said trying to stay calm; Harry would want me to stay calm in a situation like this.
“We drive…faster than normal.” She smiled before getting up and running out the opening doors. I stood up hastily but whimpered when the weight of my body rested upon my withered ankle. I bit my lip and paced after Tanya ignoring the scream from my foot. I could see her silver car in the distance and I picked up my pace more. She threw the door open and climbed in ushering me to hurry up. I could feel my legs starting to slow from the hurt and I coughed in the cold air. My lungs hammering hard as I carried on.
Screeching came around the corner when I noticed a swift black car drive straight towards me. Tanya pulled me into the passenger seat and quickly pushed her foot down on the peddle. We skidded forwards a little and then were thrown backwards out of the parking space with drastic speed.
“Tanya are you sure this is a good idea?” I said nervously as we raced down and around corners to leave the towering building. At one point we skidded and almost crashed in the stone wall holding the place up. We were both choking for air from breathing so fast and I shielded my face with my arms as we crashed through the barrier.
Seconds later a reeving engine was moaning behind us and Tanya slammed her foot down on the peddle more. The car was speeding up quickly and I grabbed hold of the chair under me and put my feet up against the dashboard to try and stay still. Even with a seat belt on both of us were being thrown about. We skidded again around a tight turn and were face with nothing but an empty motor way.
“Tanya look out!” I shouted but she couldn’t hear me over the roaring of the engines. A load of signs were in the middle of the road signalling no entry. The car ran straight through them and a huge bump pushed both of us up in the air. We fell down again but the car twisted slightly, sending us rolling over each other. The car span out of control and I felt onto anything I could find desperately trying to survive this moment. I was going to die. We were going to die.
Everything fell silent as glass shattered down onto us, cutting our skin open. It singed and stung badly but the fact that I could feel it told me I had made me it.
“Oh fuck.” Tanya said too and I couldn’t stop myself from smiling, she had survived the crash too. Her face and chest were bloody with cuts and so were her arms and legs. We were bent into a weird position and I found myself trying to crawl out through the side window. I fell onto the floor and winced from all the pain my body was enduring.
A hand was in my hair and it pulled me up onto my feet. I finally cried out and his other arm went around my waist locking me against him.
“Shhhh we aren’t going to kill you. Not without Harry that is. Come on now you will be fine.” His sick and disgusting voice said and the image of Chris crawled into my mind. I thumped my elbow into his ribs as hard as possible but he did nothing but slightly moan. His hold still fixed more tightly on me.
I looked over as I breathed hard and Tanya was also being held to someone. The guy who had fallen out of the elevator. She was screaming and crying. I saw the sharp blade against her neck and I shouted out for her.
“Stop! Stop it! Don’t hurt her!” The guy looked up at me across the car and smiled. His grin was plastered onto his face with such amusement my heart picked up another speed. Moving as hard as I could I tried to free myself but he only dug his fingers deeper into my already glass cut skin.
“Into the car Samantha. Oh and Tanya did you actually pass your driver’s test?” He smirked and I felt myself being pushed into the back seat. My head hit them hard and I ran my hand up to caress the newly throbbing pain it acquired. Tanya was sat next to me, she looked frozen. Blood now trailed in a thin bead down her neck and I gasped from it. The guy had cut her.
“Tanya, Tanya.” I said frantically and her eyes fixed onto mine. My hand reached to her and I wiped the blood from her wound away. It was only a small cut, it would heal soon. If we were still alive.
“Seat belts on then.” Both of us didn’t move. Tanya’s eyes were still glassy from crying as she stared at me. Almost like she was asking me what to do. But I didn’t know anymore. I never knew. She was the one who had got us out of the car park. She was the one who had saved us more time. I was nothing but wasteful.
“Alright suit yourselves.” Max said as the car lunged forward into a fast speed and we fell forward.

Harry’s POV
I looked over at the clock to see it was almost midnight. My body ached to hold Sam again. To feel her small body in my arms. To caress her cheeks and feel her lips tease against mine. Hollowness spread in my chest, a space where Sam would fill. But she wasn’t here.
As soon as that front door opened. As soon as it clicked I would run straight to her. Not even question it but press her against me and kiss her so passionately that no one would even try to stop us. They would wonder what it was like to love someone with so much passion as I did Sam.
The ticking of the clock seemed to slow down every time I thought about it, my foot tapping on the floor as I sat on the sofa waiting. The blanket we had shared was hanging off the edge next to me and I carefully pulled it back, trying to feel as much as the fabric as possible. We had shared this. Our bodies touching underneath it. Something I would die to have again. Every second she was gone it felt like forever was being repeated over and over again.
That’s when I heard it. Footsteps. Quickly I got up and ran into the large main room where the stairs were, as well as the oak front doors. I saw Liam and Louis come out of the gaming room laughing about something on the other side of me as the front doors swung open.
----------------
Samanthas POV
His hand tightened in my hair and I whimpered once more, his fingers digging into my skull as though he was trying to tear me apart. The room looked familiar it was blurred by my dazed vision. Maybe I had a concussion from the car crash. But right now I didn’t care.
I saw a few people in front of me and a laughing behind me. It rumbled through his body as he used his other cold hand to caress my grazed cheek.
“Harry, did you miss me?” He said sarcastically and threw me down onto the floor. My head hit another ground and I gritted my teeth from it.
“Sam? Sam. Sam!” Harry’s velvety voice was around me, his arms wrapping my body into his as he knelt next to me. I felt his breath on my forehead and I tried to blink away the haze crossing my vision. I could still see Tanya being held captive and quickly I pushed myself up.
“Let Tanya go.” I said sternly but my voice shook and fell backwards into Harry from how dizzy I was becoming. It was as though someone was wiping a cloud across my eyes every time I tried to focus on something. Harry’s arms wrapped around me protectively and I could feel his heart rate speeding up faster against my back.
“Oh I can’t do that. You see Tanya is what will make you do what I want.” He smiled deviously and I felt sickened by it. Looking over I saw Louis and Liam looking so hateful their fists might start burning. Their eyes were fixed constantly on Max but they went back and forth over Tanya too.
She was clawing at the arm around her neck and was whimpering from the tight hold around her stomach. The baby.
“Just loosen your grip on her or something!” I shouted and took a step towards him but Harry quickly pulled me back. He wasn’t going to let me go again. The guy holding Tanya did as he was told but only because Max agreed. Tanya was breathing heavily and her dress was ripped in certain areas.
“So where’s Donny? Lovely place you have here by the way Tanya. Might have a look around before we go.” My mind was so confused, everything seemed to be happening so quickly I couldn’t respond.
Suddenly the living room door opened and Donny walked through opening up a beer. He looked up once he realised there were unfamiliar people in the room and stared between Max, me, Tanya and Louis and Liam.
I watched his eyebrows furrow and his fists tightening with rage. The glass bottle was thrown across the room at Max and I flinched back into Harry more. The bottle hit the wall when Max ducked and shattered drastically into a thousand tiny fragments. I was turned into Harry so that the glass wouldn’t hit me but I doubt that would make a difference to my already disastrous state.
Donny charged for Tanya but a click was sounded implying the gun pressed to her forehead.
“Donny you seem to be ruining the little game I have going on here so please could you move back and let me carry on. Otherwise your girl with have a bullet in her head. Oh but wait…which girl? Isn’t it true that you are undeniably in love with Samantha as well?” Max’s mouth opened to mock how shocked he was but he then laughed after it.
A vein in Donny’s neck was pulsating with hatred as he slowly stepped back to me and Harry. We all stood in some sort of circle and Liam and Louis looked so pissed that their plan wouldn’t work due to the new involvement of a gun.
My thoughts whirled in my head, desperately trying to figure out a way of saving Tanya and getting rid of them. But I was nothing. No help at all. I could barely walk let alone run and Max would probably shoot Tanya before I was even half way to him. I wasn’t going to let anyone get hurt because of me. If something happened I would be the one hurt, no matter what. Harry would be able to understand that it was better that way.
“Anyway carrying on.” Max smirked as he said these words before talking some more. “As you all know my brother recently passed away due to Samantha-“
“She didn’t kill him.” Harry spat towards Max before he could finish and his hands were on my back waist securing me to him.
“Oh but how do we know? Even if he committed suicide it was because of her. It’s always because of her. And because of that…I think she needs to be punished.” He smiled and Donny started to shout next to me. Making my ears ring from how loud he was.
“You sick bastard! You think she needs to be punished?! What about all those innocent people you killed for fun! Don’t you remember what you did to Harry? Made him do something so disgusting he tried to end his life for you.” Donny said with pure hatred. His face was completely full of anger, no innocence or loved left in his features. I felt myself tremble slightly and Harry was leaning his forehead down onto the top of my head calming me. Max snickered from Donny’s comment and Niall was walking in with Zayn. Oh great more people about to be in trouble because of me.
The stopped frozen and were about to run to Max but Tanya whimpered when the gun was being pressed further into her forehead.
“More people to watch how lovely. Didn’t realise you were running a hotel here Tanya. Then we would have asked to stay, no offence Harry but your apartment really isn’t that great. But you did leave your cat behind who I have grown accustomed to.”
“You what? You are the one who kicked us out of my apartment?!” Harry shouted behind me with disbelief and I felt him fidget. He wanted to hurt him but couldn’t let go of me.
“Ever since Chris died I have been following you. It’s funny how the person you killed to be in my group was Samantha’s mother.”
“He didn’t kill her mother!” Everyone screamed at the same time except for me, Harry, Tanya and Max. His friend was too busy focusing down Tanya’s dress. It made me even more sick. But the words just said made me legs wobble and I found myself only standing up because of Harry’s hold on me.
“I’ve had enough of this. Samantha stand here.” He pointed to the middle of the circle we were in and Harry wrapped both arms around my waist, making sure it was impossible for me to leave.
“Samantha stand here. Now. Or Tanya will feel a small sharp death.” The gun clicked again to show it was loaded and my heart thudded even more dramatically. I pushed Harry’s hands away from my waist but he wouldn’t budge.
“Harry please come on…” I whispered so only he could hear but I felt his head drop onto my shoulder and he kissed it softly, not wanting to let my touch be more than a few centimetres from him. I could feel everyone’s eyes on us as I walked out of Harry’s arms and into the centre of the room.
“Who’s life to take Samantha? Tanya’s or yours.”
“No. NO! You can’t do that.” I felt Harry run to me but Tanya screamed when the gun pushed into her skull even more. Probably denting it.
“Stay there Harry.” He moved back to where he was before and Max smiled deeply at me.
“Max this is sick and cruel. Don’t think you will get away with any of this because you will be dead before you can even think to get away.” Donny’s voice sounded and then Liam’s did.
“Do you think killing people is a way to satisfy yourself?” He said angrily and disgustedly.
“No. But it sure is fun.” The gun was pulled out from behind his back and pointed straight at Liams head. Tanya screamed again and I saw Donny rushing to grab Max. Squeezing my eyes shut tightly as I stood shaking; I vowed not cry. This was all my fault.
When I opened my eyes Donny had the gun to his face but looked unphased by it completely. I could feel my chest constricting and it was difficult to breathe.
“Go on. Have your satisfactory.” Donny spat at him through gritted teeth but Max merely smiled back.
“Okay. Samantha. Your life or Tanyas.” I shook and ran my grazed, bloodied hands through my dishevelled hair. My watery eyes looked back and forth between Tanya and Donny. A gasp escape my lips as I faced myself with the only answer I knew I could give.
“Mine.” I found myself whispering and Harry started swearing behind me.
“NO.” I saw his tall frame and brown curls run in front of me as he stood protectively. “Let me die. Let me die instead.”
“No-no. Max no. Don’t kill anyone but me. Get it over with now. It’s my fault your brother died. Kill me not Harry.” Harry didn’t dare turn away from the two men with guns but his hand was behind his back searching for mine. I took it quickly and rested my head on his back. I tried to make it as un obvious as possible to what I was doing but I knew Max could see through it.
“I wasn’t intending to kill you Samantha. I intended to punish you. And I found a more exciting way to do that.” He kept his gun on Donny but turned to face me and Harry.
“Do you love Samantha Harry?” He didn’t answer. Harry stood frozen like ice in front of me. His usual warmth no longer there.
“I’ll say it again. Do you love Samantha?” He said everything so calmly it made me shiver. He was like a ghost. Creeping into my mind and invading my senses.
“Yes…” He said quietly. Not daring to look Max in the eye, his head was hanging down. I felt my eyes starting to drop out tears as I squeezed Harry’s hand tightly.
“And Samantha. Do you love Harry?”
“Yes.” I said slowly and breathlessly. Harry didn’t move in front of me but his thumb caressed the cut skin on my hands lightly.
“Then your punishment is decided. Either Tanya dies or…Samantha comes with me and is never allowed to see Harry again.”
