Underneath

All I know is I’ve been here before. The sickeningly familiar kick of dread to my solar plexus. This is where the journey ends for me, this is where I get off…

…Slowly a smile rises to his lips as he holds out a hand and says softly, “Carolina.”

“You never use my name!” I say shocked. “Well maybe I need to start,” he says, taking me in his arms.

I don't resist. The green eyes find me, still mysterious, still full of secrets. Forever older than me…just out of reach.

All I know is, for now, he’s with me. “Carolina, I love you,” he murmurs, kissing my hair.

“Is the exam over then” I ask getting control of myself. “Did I pass?” Harry giggles adorably, “Ok, multiple choice, which Harry do you love most? normal guy underneath or celebrity meat puppet?”

“Let’s just say I love all of it,” I say magnanimously. “The whole deal! What's underneath what's on top…even the meat puppet, I love him too!” Harry laughs out loud and grabs me. “Where do you want him then? Underneath or on top?”

The End

P.S. And that’s as far as my story goes. No happy or unhappy ending. No ending at all…yet. Just the messy mess of real life, but a real life fantasy anyway.
