Underneath

For the following few weeks, the focus is on getting dad better. Me and Harry agree a ‘cease-fire.’ for the time being. I feel so fragile that I just can’t handle a ‘break-up’ or another ‘where is this going’ conversation. I’m also completely powerless to resist the need to be with him.

In return, Harry is so sweet and caring that I can barely connect him with the ‘threesome,’ scandal. He’s assured me it happened in L.A, after I failed to get on the plane. Of course the media fall on it like slavering wolves. The paparazzi stalk Harry like never before and we have to be very careful. I’m still the invisible non-girlfriend after all!

Strange thing is my parents have also bought into the whole, “lets not talk about it,’ theme. Dad has his suspicions and mum briefly talked to Harry on the phone…but all they really know is that he’s older than me. Strangely, they seem to be happy to let it slide for now! My little brother comes back from Grandmas with a heavily curated version of the truth and life goes on, almost as almost…apart from the fact I’m (totally not) dating Harry Styles!

I had planned to stay home for family movie night, but I feel hollow, and miss Harry. My parents let me go with so little fuss, it’s clear the brush with death has affected them both deeply.

At Harry’s place I hold out my arms out like a sleepwalker. “Hug me! kiss me!” I say in a pathetic voice. Harry picks me up and I automatically wrap my legs round him. “Hug me, kiss me, do me!” he replies, kissing my neck. I giggle, “At least let me get my coat off!” I say, wrestling his arms. “Just take it all off! He says, tugging at my jeans.

“Have you been working out?” I ask.
