Chapter 9

Later in the evening when my stomach was full of food, my teeth were brushed, my hair was up in a french braid as I’d just wiped off my makeup, I sat in my bed as I checked my phone. No unread messages and no missed calls. Didn’t he regret anything that he had said? I knew that Mark always was the first one to apologize, out of pure experience. I guess it probably was because of him always having something to apologize for.
It stung in my heart as I thought back to our conversation, but instead of me going around and dwell about what he said (which I’ve done almost all of the times Mark has hurt me), I decided to just let it go. To let him go.
I crawled up under my blanket as I turned the lights off and went to sleep with a smile on my face.

My alarm barely started beeping before I literally flew out of my bed. My clothes were already folded upon the chair by my desk, so I didn’t have to stand for half an hour in front of my closet only to pick out some clothes. I’ve never been a fashionista and clothes had never spoken to me in the same way as they do for my other girl-friends. I pulled on my well-worn black jeans, a white top and a red plaid flannel over it. I giggled while thinking about all of my friends who reacted each day as I walked into the school building.
“Sarah, seriously? I don’t understand how you managed to become the Prom Queen when you’re going around dressed like that.”
I’d never put my money on such things. Neither on makeup or any hair products. But I own a mascara, of course! I am a girl after all.

I put on some lip balm as I fluffed my blonde hair in the way I’d always been doing in the mornings, and then I went down to get some breakfast.

All of the classes in the morning went well. However I must admit it’s little bit tough not knowing anyone. But luckily I was not the only one being lonely. I always managed to find a desperate soul in every classroom that I could sit next to. It was a shame that Louis was older than me. We’d probably work quite well together during class. Although he already had friends, that’s at least what he told me… If he’d founded them, I thought as I giggled.
“Why you giggle?”
I put my last book in the locker as I then looked to the side to see whose question I would answer, as if I didn’t already know. “It was an incredibly funny joke I just thought of.”
Louis’ suddenly looking at me with a zeal. “Well, can I hear it?”
“It was actually about you, so I’d rather not tell.” I replied with a smile.
“Was it about me? Then it must’ve been a funny one!” He said as he smiled back towards me. “I knew it all along; you’ve been going around thinking about me all day.” He continued, looking amused.
I rolled my eyes as Louis’ laughing. “If you’re done with daydreaming about me, then we might go get some lunch?”
I breathed a sigh of relief. I expected him to ask me that question. I didn’t want to sit all by myself in the dining room, so now I’ve at least got someone to sit next to. “I’d love to.”
We had been walking through the long corridors as we finally arrived to the schools huge dining room. Yes, huge.

“Oh, I forgot to ask you. Did you finally manage to find your friends?” I asked him as we were done collecting our food. “Oh yeah, they’re really good at hiding, but I eventually found them.” He said as he glanced around in the dining room.
“They’re sitting over there, come with me!”
He started walking towards them with big steps and I almost had to run to keep up. Finally we arrived to the table where his three friends were sitting. “Hello there fellas.” Louis put down his tray as his friends looked up towards us.
Oh no. Oh my goodness, no.

Obviously, the two of them I’d already met the day before, in the bathroom. Where I uncontrollably cried and sniffed sharply. I almost felt like crying as I thought about how I managed to frighten the blonde one.
The blonde who were drinking his Pepsi started to choke and caught uncontrollably. The guy I hadn’t seen before pounded him helpfully on his back.

“You need to swallow your drinks Niall. You can’t just leave it in your mouth.” Louis’ drags his gaze from Niall towards me. “So, this is my dear friend Sarah Fuller and it’s her first year. She’s a dancer.” The last thing he adds with a theatrical whisper. I wanted to smile, but I was too embarrassed to do anything at all.
“Sarah, this is Zayn.” He pointed towards the guy who tried to comfort me yesterday. Whatever it is… It will work out. His words had reassured me.
Louis continues the presentation as he turned his head towards the guy I hadn’t seen before. “This is Liam.”
Liam waved his hand and I smiled back.
“And the guy, who just ruthlessly choked, is Niall.” Louis ended as he sat down and tried to make some room for me to sit beside him. I quietly sat down, trying to avoid falling, dropping something, or anything else that might attract me any attention. “Sorry, my class was drawn! But I’m here now.”
I turned around to see who’s the one speaking.
Come on. You got to be kidding me.

Obviously Harry is the one standing right in front of me, and he’s looking just as terrified as myself.
