Hello, Darcy.

Welcome Home.

I said my last ‘See you later’, instead of Goodbye for she agreed that Harry and I go visit his Mum. To be honest, I was feeling really nervous inside along with sweaty blue palms. I bet my face is really pale blue. I don’t know these people, nor have I ever met them, even if I claim them as my Grandparents. Oh Jesus, now the family truth reveals.
----------------------------------------------
We stopped in front of a decent sized two-story-detached house. Kind of like mines and Mum’s. I felt myself shaking even more, maybe I would even collapse once I step foot onto the ground or even make it to the front door.
“Ready?” Harry asked. My attention was still placed on the house.

“Um-Erm.” I stuttered. He placed a hand over my shoulder and squeezed it tightly, I turned my attention back to him. “You’ll be alright Darc, they’re family.” He smiled reassuringly.

“Right.” I muttered and looked back on over to the house. I opened my door, and not to my surprise, my legs were like jello. I couldn’t keep my balance, nor even stand straight for one second. I felt Harry hold me still while trying to walk up to the house. “You’re going to be fine.” He chuckled.

This was it, right in front of the doorstep. Just one doorbell away, and there I will finally see- *DING DONG*. Damn it, Harry rung the doorbell. Suddenly a tall- but petite woman with brown hair with a bit of gray streaks opened the door. “Harry!” She squealed and quickly hugged him tightly. I just stood here wandering my eyes about while they hugged eachother in their embraces. “And you must be my Darcy! I’m your Grandma Anne!” She squealed, I was a bit caught off guard and hugged me before I could even process what she was saying. “Hi, Grandma.” I smiled. I felt my heart smile on the inside too, I felt this weird connection as if we’ve bonded together for a long time.

“Come on in! Dinner is just about to start and your Aunt Gemma and cousins are waiting fo-“

“Wait, Aunt Gemma and Cousins?” I asked curiously, looking over to Harry, who had a guilty face.

“Your Dad didn’t tell you?” She asked furrowing her eyebrows.

“Well If I said that more people will be here, she wouldn’t have agreed to come along.” He whined, as if he were a little child.
“Darcy, don’t worry we’re family and you’ll get along well with them.” She smiled and rubbed my back. “Come on, now.”

Once I stepped foot into the house, I felt as if this was my home too. It felt really homey. The smell of cinnamon-pumpkin and the warm colors of the house made it feel cosy. I kept walking and wandering my eyes about, looking around this cute place, I heard a few mutters here and there and when I finally decided to stop by a doorframe, all eyes were on me. My eyes widened as I saw a group of people, mixed between ages. “Darcy!” one of them chirped. I smiled awkwardly as I felt Grandma place a hand over my shoulder. “Don’t be shy now, love.” I looked over my shoulder to see Harry wasn’t there. Goddamn it where is he? Is this a set up?
As soon as I made it to the table, everyone gathered up and walked up to me. “Darcy, It’s a pleasure to meet you, I’m your Aunt Gemma.” The one with dark curly brown hair and pale skin said. “I’m your Uncle Matt.” The tall figured one said. I smiled back. “Hi Darcy, I’m your cousin Carly and this is my little brother Michael.” Carly smiled. Finally, the old man came up to me. “You must be my granddaughter Darcy.” He smiled. “One and only.” I joked. They all chuckled, as finally all heads turned to Harry.

“Uncle Harry!” Carly and Michael screamed in unison as they ran up to him. “Hey kids!” He laughed as he hugged them tightly.

“Sorry bout that Darc, I had to park my car some place else… I see you’ve met the family.” He smiled. I nodded.

“Nice to see you little bro.” Gemma smiled, walking over to him and ruffling his hair.

“How’re you doing Matt!” He shouted across the room.

“Fine as always, the usual, kids and Gemma.” He chuckled.
---------------------------------------------
Dinner consisted of Sunday Roast, but goodness it was too delicious. Now it was time for desert. Chocolate Fudge cake. Harry couldn’t stop bragging about how Aunt Gemma and Grandma are the greatest bakers.
I felt a tap on my shoulder, and turned to my side to see Carly smiling. “I know it’s a bit weird asking my cousin for her age, but how old are you?” She asked nervously.

“I just turned 17.” I smiled.
“Me too! Well I just turned 16 a few days ago.” She said. She’s so bubbly, it’s so cute.

“Happy Belated Birthday! I would’ve greeted you any sooner, but you know.” I said, tilting my head to the side.

“Darcy, so tell us about yourself.” Grandma chirped in.

“Uhh-well, I’m 17?” I said hesistantly, not knowing what to really tell them.

“I forgot to mention how you look just like your Dad when he was 17, and your Mum, God you’re so beautiful just like her.” She smiled dearly, holding her hand over her heart. I blushed a little, I was happy that Grandma thought she was beautiful. “By the way Harry, hows’ Olivia doing?” She asked with pity washing over her face.

“She’s actually doing better now, according to the Doctor.” He smiled. “As a matter of fact, Darcy and I better get back to the hospital.” He said and looked over his watch.

“But you guys barely got here.” Gemma whined. “Well send Olivia my best wishes.”

“Text me okay.” Carly smiled handing me a piece of paper. I nodded and hugged her.
I got up from my seat as everyone gave eachother hugs and kisses. “See you again, darling.” Grandma smiled. I walked over to Grandpa and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

“See you next time Harry.” Grandpa smiled.

“I’ll drop by as much Robin.” He smiled back. Robin? Why didn’t he call him Dad?
----------------------------------------------
We drove back to the hospital, but it was an hour away from Chesire, therefore Harry and I would of course start a little conversation.

“Did you have fun?” Harry asked sarcastically.

“Very.” I laughed.
“Sorry if they were a bit too chirpy for your liking.” He said.

“I liked it! In fact I love how they’re so bubbly, especially Carly.” I smiled.

“Gotta love Carls.” He chuckled.
“Harry?” I paused. “Can I ask you something?”

“Anything.” He said, his attention staring down at the road.

“Why did you call your dad Robin? I mean I know I call you Harry and such, but…” I stuttered.

He shifted uncomfortably on his seat as if this subject bothered him. “You don’t have to answer if it- I’m sorry I
asked that-“

“No Darcy, it’s fine.” He said. “I guess I would call it similar to what you’re going through right now.”

“Robin left when you too?” I asked confused. He let out a sigh.

“Robin isn’t my real Dad.” He said. “You see my Mum and Dad got divorced when I was about 7… My Mum, Gemma and I moved out of Holmes Chapel into the countryside and that’s where Mum and Robin hit it off. To be honest I was pleased with him…”

“But to be honest, did it affect you all?” I asked.

“Well, of course I was 7 at the time, and I didn’t really know what was happening… all I know is that I would cry my guts out before bed time…”
