Pretty Girls Hide Pain So Deep Inside

- She sees herself in you. - The man told her.

Hope looked at him, confused.

- She doesn't know her father...I'm her step father. - The man's voice changed, it was filled with sadness. - And her mother, my wife, is battling with cancer, has been for a while.

- I'm so sorry. - Hope said, trying to fight the tears gathering in her eyes.

- Yeah, it's been tough, especially for Angela. She became very depressed and shut us out completely... But then you appeared and when she learned about your past and everything you've been trough she was amazed by how strong you are and she wanted to be just like you... She even begged us for months to let her dye her hair.

Hope chuckled a little. She looked at Angela and then back at the man standing in front of her.

- She's lucky to have you sir... I wish I had someone like you in my life growing up.

The man smiled at Hope's words, a few tears filling her eyes. - Please, call me Shaw.

Hope nodded with a slight smile.

- So, should we play? - Hope changed the subject.

- Yeah, let's go!

Hope went to join her teammates/bandmates, but before she could, Calum stopped her.

- Hey. - He said softly. - Are you okay?

- Yeah. - Hope put her best smile on, but she couldn't fool Calum.

- You know you can talk to me, right? - Calum told her. - I'm here for you, always. You don't have to deal with any of this alone.

- I know. - Hope said and put her hand on Calum's cheek before leaning in and kissing him softly, teasing him with her tounge.

She always knew how to mess with his mind.

The two teams were both huddled up, discussing their strategy.

- Alright, the doors will be openning soon, so we only have about 30 minutes to play. - Ashton told everyone.

Everyone nodded.

- Hey, could someone set an alarm for thirty minutes after the game starts? - Jesse looked at the crowd that has now multiplied.

Everyone that didn't already have their phone out has had it now. Part of the crowd was filming everything and the other part was waiting for the game to start so they can set an alarm.

Blue whistled loudly, announcing the game's start.

Ashton was 5 Seconds of Summer's goalkeeper and Jesse was Midnight Sinning Session's.

This may have started as a joke, but no one was playing anymore, some serious things were at stake, like dignity... If they had any left.

They were twenty minutes into the game and no one has scored yet.

Hope was in possesion of the ball with Calum and Luke right behind her. Michael was in front of her, only a few meters away, and she was running straight at him. Calum started closing in on her, but just when he was about to stand by her side Hope picked up her pace and started running even faster dribbling the ball past Michael. He didn't even realize what happened until after she was gone. After passing Michael she was greeted by Ashton in front of the goal and Shaw by his side. Ashton was prepared, waiting for her to kick the ball, while Shaw started heading for her, in hopes of stealing the ball away.

- Hope! - King called out to her and winked when their eyes met.

He was free, but Hope wasn't doing anything. Everyone, but her teammates, looked at her in confusion. Shaw was closing in on her and they all actually thought they got her... Boy were they wrong. Shaw was right there in front of her and just as he was about to steal the ball from her, Hope used the fact that all eyes were on her and in quarter of a second she passed the ball to King. Just like that, every opposing player was off of Hope's tail and was headed for King. With no way out King decided to use brains over brawn. He tricked every player in front of him, sending them on his left and he used the empty space on his right to pass the ball back to Hope, knocking down every stereotype along the way. He kicked the bottom half of the ball sending it into the air. Once again the boys thought that it was over, that they had them, but Hope still had a few tricks up her sleeve. Hope took a deep breath, her eyes never leaving the ball. She wasn't aware of what was going on around her as she was more intent on focusing on the ball rather than players and situations building around her. After calculating the perfect angle all that was left was for the ball to get into place. Hope jumped high off the ground, getting vertical and kicking the ball im mid air, sending it flying straight towards the goal. In the same second that Hope's body hit the ground, the ball went straight trough the goal, brushing Ashton's fingers slightly.

- Shit! - Ashton exclaimed.

In that second several alarms went off and the game was over.

Even tough his team just lost and he'll have to perform in nothing but his underwear, Calum was nowhere near disappointed or angry, he was proud. The look in his eyes had nothing but admiration for his beautiful fiancee.

Just as Hope got off the ground, King came running towards her and picked her up. He was holding her up with only one hand, which was placed on her tigh. Hope threw her hands in the air and joined her bandmates and the crowd in celebrating their victory.

- I literally love you, that was amazing! - King told Hope was he carefully put her down.

- Hey! - Calum exclaimed, acting mad.

Hope only laughed in response.

''She shoots, she scores! Midnight Sinning Session's Hope Lucas Irwin amazes everyone with her soccer skills after a friendly game in the arena's parking lot.''

I hope you like this chapter, I had a lot of fun writing it.

Hopefully I'll finish another chapter soon and update again today, but I'm not making any promises (I just now realized how often I've been saying that, sorry).
