Pretty Girls Hide Pain So Deep Inside

- Good morning. - Ashton said to Calum.

It's been over a week since Hope left. The boys are currently scattered over the world, trying to keep a low profile. The reason the tour was cancelled was still unknown to the public, along with Calum and Hope's split and their affairs. The boys' management did a good job at keeping everything a secret, but that didn't change the fact that it all happened. Hope was still gone and their hearts were still broken. Only one thing still hasn't changed. The guy with whom Hope slept with and got pregnant somehow still managed to remain unknown, but not for long.

All of the boys were still trying to find Hope, but they didn't have any luck. They would call and text her, but she would ignore them all... All except one.

Ashton and Calum were the only ones back in Sydney. While Ashton constantly had trouble trying not to be seen in public, Calum, on the other hand, didn't have that problem. Since the day they came back he hasn't left their apartment.

Ashton was sitting in the living room, quetily watching TV, when Calum walked downstairs.

- 'Morning. - Calum quietly answered.

He looked like a mess. He was a mess. His hair wasn't combed, his clothes weren't ironed... He looked like a wreck from head to toe.

Ashton tried not to mention Hope much. Calum did the same.

- Blue called, he and Cody are coming back tomorrow. - Ashton said. - And they said they had some news.

- About Hope? - Calum's eyes opened widely.

- No, um, it's about something else. - He said shortly.

Things have been extremely awkward between these two since they've gotten back. They aren't as close as they used to be. All the talks they used to share on a regular basis were now replaced by small talk. Ashton understood how Calum must be feeling and that he needs his space, but that didn't mean he couldn't hope for his best friend back.

King and Jesse were currently in Venice. They knew how much Hope liked that place, so they saw it fit to look for her there. But they haven't had any luck so far. She was a ghost.

Michael was still in New Orleans. Calum wanted to stay there as well, but after the event with Nikki, the rest of the boys didn't think it would be a very good idea. Speaking of which, still a day hasn't passed that Nikki didn't call Calum. He answered a couple of times, but mostly he would ignore her, just like everyone else. He wouldn't even pick up the phone when his family would call, but luckily Ashton was there. Since everything that has happened, Ashton took on the role of Calum's care taker, which included letting his parents know that he's still alive.

The remaing member of 5 Seconds of Summer was currently at the John F. Kennedy International Airport about to board a plane.

- Hey. - Luke answered his phone with a smile on his face. - Long time no hear.

- Yeah, I know... - On the other end of the line was none other than Hope.

- So, what's going on? Are you still in Venice? - He asked her.

- No, I just landed.

- Good. - He said. - I'm surprised you didn't run into Jesse and King.

- What can I say, I was well infromed on their exact whereabouts. - She told him.

Luke chuckled.

- So, when are you getting here? - Hope asked him.

- I'm about to get on the plane. You still haven't changed your mind?

- No. - It was all she said.

He smiled.

- I'm glad. I gotta go now, but I'll call you when I land. - He said.

- Alright, be careful. - She told him.

- Always.
