Pretty Girls Hide Pain So Deep Inside

- Where the fuck were you? - Michael yelled.

A couple of hours after an eventful visit to the bar, Calum was back in the tour bus, obviously drunk.

Ashton, Michael and King were there waiting for him.

- What the hell did you do to yourself, man? - King approached him.

Calum was barely standing. While trying to make the next step, Calum tripped. King held him up.

- Why did you do this? - King was worried about his friend's state.

Calum started laughing hysterically.

- Well... - He yanked his hand out of King's grip and started heading towards Ashton and Michael.

Once he reached his two bandmates he dramatically turned around to look at King.

- I don't know if you've heard... - He had trouble speaking correctly. - But my fiancee, the girl I planned to spend the rest of my life with...

With every word he said his voice got louder.

- She... - He started tearing up. - She fucking got knocked up by another guy, so I think I'm entitled to a couple of drinks.

- You didn't just drink a couple. - King said. - Come on man, you need to sober up.

King reached for Calum's shoulders, but he pushed his hands away.

- Don't touch me. - He said warned him.

Calum stepped back. He tripped over Michael's feet and nearly fell over.

- What are you doing? - Ashton asked him. - You need to rest.

- No! - He yelled. - I... I need to...

Everyone looked at him in confusion.

- Hope... She was five weeks pregnant. - Which one... You...

- Cal, you're not making any sense. - Michael told him, he tried to reached out to him, but Calum stepped back.

- Hey, I know this is hard and fucked up, but don't do this to yourself. Please. - Ashton said. - Everything's gonna work out.

- How do you know that, huh? - Calum dropped to the ground.

He pressed his knees to his chest.

- I... I can't do this. - He voice was on the point of breaking. - I know what happened to her is horrible, but... But I can't be there for her... Knowing what she did... And what I did.

The last part got everyone present exchanging looks.

- What are you talking about? What did you do? - Michael asked.

Michael, King and Ashton were sitting on the floor with Calum.

- I... - He didn't finish.

- Calum Thomas Hood, what did you do? - Ashton asked him.

- I fucking cheated on her! - He yelled.

- What?

- When? - Ashton asked him, anger was noticable in his voice, after all Hope is his sister.

He didn't answer.

- Calum!

- Today. At the bar. - He said quietly. - It's just... There was this girl, and... I was, I was angry and confused and we... I didn't mean to.

- You didn't mean to? - King raised his voice.

- She did it first! - He tried to justify his actions, but he was failing.

- That's your excuse? You don't even know what she did, what really happened with her... - Ashton told him. - You're unbelievable.

- I... Where is she? - Calum asked, his voice low and brittle.

- She's been missing for hours. - Michael said.

- See, while you've been out trying to get lucky at a bar everyone else was out looking for your fiancee. - King told him.

- Don't say that like I'm the only one to blame here. - Calum said.

- That's not how I'm saying it, Hope is just as much to blame as you are, maybe even more... But you're the one who went and fucked some girl just to spite her. - King told it like it is. - Look, I know what's happening between you and Hope right now is fucked up, but I also know that you two love each other. Yeah, you've both made some big mistakes, but if anyone can work it out, it's you two.

- I'm not sure I want that. - Calum said quietly, his gaze on the floor.

- Not sure you want what?

- To work it out.
