It had always been hard for Chloe to make time to see Harry, with both of their busy schedule. So when she finally got the time to talk to him, she didn't know how to feel. She was happy to see him again but kinda nervous because she knew how it was going to end.
She had just gotten off the phone with Harry, he would be over soon. But she knew it wouldn't be a long visit. It would short. She wasn't stupid after all. She knew not to trust the magazines, as they always told lies but she knew this was true. It was obvious that he was cheating. Chloe had to do this, once a cheater, always a cheater. She really believed in this statement.
She started to pace around the house, was this the right decision? He could change, maybe he was forced to do it? Maybe, the magazines not true, but sadly, it was. After a little more waiting, he arrived. He stepped in, completely drenched from the pouring rain outside her home. He quickly went to change before giving her a hug, a very elongated hug, as if it would their last. They both knew it would be over very soon but neither wanted it to be. They just stayed in each other's arms, neither saying a single word. Chloe knew she should just kick him out, yell, hit him, anything to make him feel a tiny ounce of the pain she does, but she couldn't bring herself to it. He was still the same boy she fell in love with, no matter how many times he hurts her, she will always love him. But she knew this had to be the last. As the old saying goes, if you love someone, let them go. And that's what she had to do. She needed a break right now, from the pain and sorrow he brought, a break to focus on herself. She didn't know she had been crying until she heard his voice. It was evident that he had been crying too.
"I'm so sorry baby, please forgive me, I love you. God, I was so stupid but I will never do it again, please I need you."
This only made Chloe cry more. She wanted to forgive so badly, but she knew it wouldn't fix their relationship, the only thing that would fix it would a break. Chloe broke the hug to stand face to face with him.
"No. You don't love me or need me, if you did, you wouldn't have cheated on me! And I know you did it multiple times so don't give me all that bullshit!"
There's a moment of silence before she started to talk again.
"Why was I not enough for you? Why couldn't I stop you from cheating?"
"You were, babe, I'm just so stupid and I still don't know why I did it."
They both stood there in silence, both emotionless. Harry stood over to her and took her hands in his.
"Baby, we can fix this, I know we can."
Chloe yanked her hands away.
"The only thing that will fix this is a break Harry. I still love you but I need a break. A break for all the pain and drama you bring. So can you please leave so we can start our break."
She couldn't look at him, she knew if she did, she would probably take him back. She heard a sigh and the door open. She looked up to see Harry staring at her.
"I'm so sorry."
And with that, he left.
Once the door closed, she broke down. She immediately regretted her decision. She didn't want to talk to anyone, she wanted to eat ice cream and lay in her bed. And that's what she did, for a while. She had gotten multiple texts from her friends and family, all hearing the news about her and Harry's breakup. She knew they wanted to help but it wouldn't. She needed her own time to heal, that's what she was doing. She had even found a new way to heal. She was transferring all her energy into songwriting, and they weren't half bad, they were actually pretty amazing. She could actually produce them, just change some of the lyrics a little and bam! This made Chloe very excited, for the first in a while.
