Pull Out

So, you are not aloud to consult at all with them until all three of you are done with this program."

"You don't understand!" I yell, slamming my hand down on her desk.

"I do understand. You're mom is now paying extra to keep you in so you can get better."

"Michael's gonna get worse, and you'll never fix him without me. He was just starting to get better." I sneer, stomping out of the room. Luke and Calum wait outside the door. I feel my face go read with anger, and all I do is let out huge, ear splitting scream, saying 'fuck.' I'm a professional. Tears spill down my cheeks, and Luke takes me into his arms.

"What happened?" Calum asks, his eyes twitching.

"I-I..." My tears take over my voice box, not letting me talk. I finally get enough air in. "I can't talk to Michael, or Maria ever again!" My voice turns raspy, as I lose my voice. Luke hugs me tighter, knowing how me and Michael felt about each other. I mean, everybody knows, we broke out of a mental hospital together. I cry into his chest, as the door opens from the main hallway. I look over, and see Michael staring at my tear covered face. He opens his mouth to talk, but I shake my head and bury my face back into Luke's chest.

"Mads?" He quietly says. I can tell he was holding in his tics again... He's upset. Because of me... No! That fucking hippie! It's her fault!

"Don't-" I think about my choice of words. "The head hippie is forcing us not to ever talk. Not Maria either." I whisper, taking a deep breath.

"What? No. Madisyn! We can keep it a secret."

"My mom's paying extra when she can barely afford Eliot... I don't want to let both of them down."

"Yea, you're letting me down instead." He says, pain in his raspy voice.

"Michael, it's not like that."

"Yea, it is like that! My... My dad's a politician, and we can help you! He might even pay for you if it helps my broken brain."

"I love you..." I bat my eyes, walking off with Luke and Calum, quietly sobbing. This hurts more then anything. More then it felt swallowing those bottle of pills, or when I saw Eliot in the doorway. I didn't have to do that. I didn't have to turn him down. But I did. Why? I don't even know...
I sit in between Luke and Zelia, ignoring all the conversation.

"Madisyn." I heard the nurse say. "Your turn." I sigh.

"I don't wanna talk." I cross my arms over my chest, slouching down in the small chair. He raises his eyebrows.

"Not gonna say how you're feeling, or why you broke out?" He asks, tucking his bottom lip behind his teeth. I shake my head, making a eye contact with Michael for a second. Luke rubs my shoulder. A small gesture, but it calms me. "You may leave."

"What?" I knit my eyebrows together.

"Go back to your room." He simply says. "If you're not going to participate, then leave." I shrug my shoulders, grabbing my notepad and walking out.

"Oh, I was looking for you." Teresa smiles. I curl my lip up in disgust. She frowns, sighing. "Madisyn, somebody is on the phone to talk to you. He's some police officer in... Arizona I think?" A smile grows onto my face, and I quickly wipe it off, but still feel the happiness growing. I follow her into the office, and she hands me her phone.

"Hello?" I ask.

"Hey, Madisyn." I hear Ashton's father's voice. I look back at Teresa. I mouth to her, 'privacy.' She nods, walking out.

"What do you need?"

"I heard about your struggling. We already sent the money for the troubles, so you can't argue."

"What?! Thank you, but-"

"No buts. You deserve this. We also convinced your mom to pull you our of the program at Orange Haven."

"What... No..." But Michael.

"Yes! You'll be home tomorrow." He cheers, not understanding.

"No! I'm not leaving without Michael or Maria." I huff. I hear him sigh on the other line.

"Forgot to mention. Took care of that, too. I told Michael's dad, Daryl, about the situation. He wants to keep you around, and thought the program was not helping him. For Maria, she'll be out soon." He explains, pride in his voice.

"Damn. Thanks! I owe you. Well, I gotta go." I smile, hanging up the phone. I walk out to see Teresa waiting outside.

"So?" She asks, raising her eyebrows.

"Bye!" I cheer, walking to my room. "And say bye to Maria and Michael, too."
