A Life for A Life

Boarding On

*Caitlyn’s POV*

I knew I would be getting on a plane back to DC, which consisted of nothing but high security. Most of what they would be looking for is a short, dark haired girl with a paw birthmark. I also knew I needed proof of identification whenever I get on a plane. There was no way I could easily just step on a plane. I had to do what I did best: sneak in.

I wouldn’t make myself obvious though. It was a good thing I was freshly showered before Louis made his appearance with Niall on the bus before, so what I needed now was some clothes. I wasn’t sure how long this trip would last me, but in case they were looking for me, I needed to keep a different appearance as much as possible. I stopped by a hair salon first, allowing the lady to give me extensions, telling her to do keep my hair color the same throughout.

I hated using Louis’s card, but I gave it to the woman anyways. She slid the card through the slot, giving it back to me. “Have a nice day!”

Sure, I will. I was in the mall and I was quickly walking around, finding my next store. I bought a duffle bag, going to different stores to buy a week’s worth of clothing and three pairs of shoes. I managed to fit all of this into my bag too. I left the mall, managing to run down a cab.

I instructed him to take me to the airport. He drove and the forty-five minutes seemed to take forever. I gave the man the card. “Ah, ma’am, what’s the pin?”

“Pin?” I asked.

Shit, I thought. What was the pin?

“Christmas Eve, okay? Don’t forget that.” Louis words rang in my mind.

“1224” I said.

“It’s not working…” The man muttered, trying again.

Shit, shit, shit. I didn’t have time for this. The thought finally hit me. Louis was British, the date and month went backwards than America’s way. “I mean 2412, sorry.”

“Ah! Okay, now that worked. Have a good day, miss.” He said, handing me back the card.

I offered a quick smile before getting my ass out of the cab. I grabbed the duffle, looking around the airport, looking around for security and scoping for a way in around back. I couldn’t risk going inside the airport with the security around. I made a face, but I had to know what plane I needed to get on. It looked like I had no choice. I was glad I bought that hat from before since my face would be hidden from the cameras. I hurried in, keeping my eyes to myself and looking for the flight board. At least I didn’t have to go through security for that.

I stared at the board, getting the next flight for DC and seeing the gate exit and flight number. I tugged on my hat some before stepping back and leaving the airport lobby. I started down the street, moving around the crowd to where the fence met with the building. There were cameras about, but only toward the part of the fence that opened. I looked around, making sure the coast was clear before throwing my bag over and quickly climbing over, landing on my feet. From here I would have to move fast.

I grabbed my bag, practically running in between spaces and alongside moving carts that carried loads of luggage. It didn’t take me long to find the exit where the plane was. I saw the cart that was carrying luggage towards it. I quickly jumped on the side, making sure my view was away from the driver and others around the area.

I jumped off whenever the driver did. I kept myself hidden as he began to throw luggage on the rising platform to take up to the guy at the door.

I heard a walkie-talkie blare, indicating a small emergency. “Steve! You’re needed at the front!”

“What? What about the luggage?”

“I’ll watch over it. You head over!”

I hid against the luggage, seeing the man hurrying down the steps beside the carrier. “Alright. Keep an eye on everything!”

“I know, I know. I won’t fall asleep this time…”

I rolled my eyes at that statement. The man left, leaving the door empty and as long as I could get past this other guy, I could easily sneak up there. My chances of getting caught were high with this man conscious. He admitted to fallen asleep before…

Hm, I thought, sneaking over to where he was seated at an angle on the cart, legs dangling out the side. I carefully stepped on, managing my weight as I reached over, ready to strike. I quickly placed my thumb over the pressure point near his neck. The man passed out, resting against the back of the cart. I let out a breath, jumping off the cart, looking around before running straight up the steps to the luggage carrier and getting in.

I hid myself in a corner, keeping my bag close. I was going to hate this plane ride, I knew, but my luck was running out and time running short. I had to meet up with Morgan Lee and get the answers I needed.
