What Makes You Beautiful

I’ll be there, yeah, I know it to fix you with love

From the moment I met you, everything changed
I knew I had to get you, whatever the pain
I had to take you and make you mine
I would walk through the desert, I would walk down the aisle
I would swim all the oceans, just to see you smile
Whatever it takes is fine
‘Stand Up’ – One Direction

Everything was ready. Everything had been organised. It was all done. The big day was tomorrow. After a 5-month engagement, Bella and Harry would tie the knot in a private ceremony at St. Peters Church and the reception would be held at Swettenham Arms, which was a 16th century inn opposite the church. It was perfect for the Summer and Spring months as the flowers outside in the gardens surrounding the inn were in full bloom.

Bella’s stomach moved every time she thought of the next day. She was nervous. In no way was she getting cold feet. It was an excited nervousness. She was actually going to get married. To Harry Styles. Today was her last day as Miss Bella Frost. Tomorrow, she would be Mrs. Bella Styles. She had just entered the fifth month of her pregnancy and her stomach had grown more. Every now and then, Bella would see the indents of her baby’s hands or feet on her stretched skin. It was so odd to see but at the same time, so wonderful. Her baby was happy and so was Bella. The day she had tried the right wedding dress on, her stomach had been smaller. A couple of days ago, Bella had gone to get the dress altered to accommodate her growing belly. She was worried she would look ugly in her wedding dress, with her pregnant stomach and all, but Anne had told her she looked absolutely beautiful and Harry would lose his breath when he saw her.

Her family had flown in the day before. It was great for Bella to have her loved ones in London with her. Ashley had taken a week off school to come over. She had started high school this year and was still trying to adjust to it. Even though Bella wasn’t in the same country as her, she did everything she could to brighten up her little sister’s sprits. She was the flower girl, after all, and Bella wanted her sister to be happy and beautiful on the big day. Her mother, grandmother and Ashley were staying in Harry and Bella’s house (because the couple demanded it) while her father and stepmother stayed in a hotel about an hour away. All of Harry’s extended family would be in attendance as well and Bella was thankful that she’d already met them at the engagement party. All of them were very sweet, just like Harry, and she felt very welcomed into their family.

Bella walked into the bedroom she and Harry shared and found Tommo Bear asleep on the bed. She quietly went over to the bedside table and picked up the wedding invitation that lay on it.

Together with their families

Harry Edward Styles & Bella Hope Frost

Invite you to their wedding
The 9th of April, 2016
3pm to 9pm
St. Peters Church
Reception to follow at Swettenham Arms
Cheshire, England

The colouring of the invitation was white with simple pale purple swirls at the top and bottom. Bella thought the next wedding invitation she would see was either for her mother’s wedding or her father’s. But no. It was for her own wedding. She placed the invitation back down on the bedside table and adjusted the engagement ring on her finger, letting the diamond catch the light, sparkling beautifully. It was one of the two pieces of jewellery Bella wore every day; the other one was her cross necklace. She wore it every day because Harry wore his every day as well.

Bella jumped from the sound of her ringtone. She pulled her phone out of the back of her jeans and saw it was her sister calling her. Curious, she answered.

“Ash?”

Hey, Bells. Mum and Grandma want to take you out for a couple of hours.

“Oh, that sounds fun. But…aren’t you downstairs?”

Yes.

“Then why didn’t you just come upstairs and tell me?”

I don’t know. I couldn’t be bothered.

“God, you’re lazy.” Bella shook her head.

She met her mother and grandmother downstairs. Luckily, she was already dressed well to go out, ready to soak in the Spring weather. So, along with Tommo Bear, Bella left with the two older generations of her family, leaving Ashley with Harry in the house. Bella saw it as an opportunity for them to have some bonding time, since they were going to be brother and sister to each other.

They walked for about ten minutes, Bella keeping a good hold on Tommo Bear’s leash, and arrived at the café Harry first took when she came to London a year ago. Luke still worked there and gave her a cheery hello when she walked in. They ordered their food and drinks and chose a table near the back of the café, Bella sitting opposite her mother and grandmother while her dog lay down on the floor underneath the table.

“One more day, sweetie.” Jo smiled when their coffees arrived.

“I know. It’s so…nerve-wracking.” Bella said, adding sugar into her cup of coffee.

“I felt the same when I married your father.”

“And me when I married your grandpa.” Jane added. Bella tapped the edge of the cup and blew on her coffee, cooling it down a little. The two women sitting with her had both experienced marriage. She knew she was lucky to have them as her family. Bella didn’t think she would be discussing marriage at this time in her life. Not when she wasn’t even 21 yet. She had cut back on caffeine to benefit her baby but that didn’t mean she couldn’t have a cup of coffee. It made her feel a little bit better.

Her bachelorette party had been fun. It was held a week ago. Gemma, Briana and Bella had gone out for a nice meal in London and spent the night going around to see the sights. They had talked about the wedding and the honeymoon, all excited about both occasions. Bella felt very close to both Gemma and Briana. It had been a great night and she had a lot of fun. Briana was right. She didn’t need alcohol to have fun and have a good time. It was the people that surrounded her that made her life fun.

Bella took a sip of her coffee and quickly put the cup down when she felt movement in her stomach. She sat back and placed her right hand where the baby had kicked. Jo and Jane looked at her anxiously.

“Are you OK, darl?” Her grandmother asked.

“Yeah, I’m fine. It was just a kick.” Bella reassured, rubbing her stomach. Her billowy blue blouse accommodated her pregnant belly but anyone with eyes could still see it. Along with her stomach, her breasts had also grown a little bit, getting ready to breastfeed. Bella didn’t know why Harry would want to have sex with her when she had a huge stomach. The wedding night was something she had looked forward to ever since the night Harry proposed to her but now, she was nervous about it. They would have to consummate their marriage and Bella wanted it to be perfect. My stomach could get in the way… But Harry told her every day she looked beautiful, even more so because she was pregnant. He was so sweet and it made Bella so happy to have him be hers.

“Have you two talked about names yet?” Jo asked.

“No. We’ve been so busy organising the wedding.”

“That’s understandable. It’ll be a good topic of discussion on the honeymoon.” Her mother suggested. Bella nodded in agreement, taking another sip of her coffee. She had no idea what to call her baby, girl or boy. She hadn’t given it much thought. Bella didn’t want to decide without Harry. It was his baby too. He or she would have his last name so it should be a decision both Harry and Bella made together.

After Bella finished her coffee, she quickly checked her phone and saw Harry had posted something on Twitter. It was a picture of young Ashley standing in a can-can position in front of the large television, the music video for History playing on it with the four boys in the middle of doing a slow version of the can-can.

Bella smiled and showed her mother and grandmother his tweet. This is what she meant about Harry being so sweet. He adored his family. He was very close to his mother and sister and over the years, had learnt to respect and love women for who they were. He had adopted Ashley into his loving family and cared for her like an older brother. From breaking up with Jacob, Bella’s life was so much better now. It was full of love and wonderful people who she called her family. Bella wasted no time in retweeting his tweet and favouriting it as well.

“I know I’ve said this many times, sweetie, but I’m going to say it again. I couldn’t be happier for you. You’ve found the love of your life and that’s what any mother wants for her daughter.” Jo smiled and reached across the table to hold Bella’s hand. She gripped her mother’s fingers in return and smiled back. Jo already loved Harry like a son and Bella could see that. Having two daughters, she could see that her mother welcomed the prospect of having a son. Bella looked at her grandmother and gestured for her to hold her hand, reaching it out to her. Jane slid her wrinkled palm into her granddaughter’s one and those friendly blue eyes of hers sparkled.

“And I’m going to be a great-grandma.”

Bella giggled and looked down at her stomach briefly. Ever since she started showing, she had been nervous to go out in public. Even though the public knew she was carrying Harry’s child, she couldn’t help but feel nervous about what people would think or say. The paparazzi today had been a fair distance away, much to Bella’s surprise, but she was grateful. At least they respect my privacy. But she knew photos of her would be all over the Internet with the next few hours.

After they had their food, Bella grabbed Tommo Bear’s leash and walked out of the café in between her grandmother and mother. She linked arms with her grandmother, keeping a firm hold on her dog’s leash, making sure he wouldn’t tear off down the pavement. All her nerves faded away in the presence of the two lovely women she was with but they would resurface soon.

“Our baby is going to love playing with this.” Bella chuckled, running her fingers through Harry’s curls.

“Yeah…I’ve actually got to tell you something.”

“Oh?”

“You know that film I’ve been cast in?”

“Yeah.” Bella nodded. It was a Christopher Nolan film set in World War II with the title Dunkirk. It was due to be Harry’s acting debut. Bella was so proud of him. He had caught the eye of a very famous director and had the chance to explore a different career. Harry moved his hand through his hair and sighed.

“I’ve got to cut my hair…for the film.”

Her eyes widened and her lips parted slightly. She knew this day would come. She knew he would cut his hair at some point. Doing a film was a valid reason to do so. Bella didn’t realise she was so silent and frozen until she felt Harry’s fingers touch her cheek.

“You OK?”

“Of course. I will miss your curls but I understand if you have to cut it.” Bella smiled at him. He suited shorter hair. He had short hair once, perfect with volume and Bella thought he looked just as attractive. She hadn’t fallen in love with him because of his hair. It was his personality she had fallen in love with.

“It’ll grow back and our child will be able to play with it.” Harry said. Bella reached up her hand to caress the brown curls. They were freshly washed for the following day, silky and shiny. She would miss not being able to tug on them but as Harry said, it would grow back. She turned her heel and walked into the large bathroom. She began to remove her make-up while Harry leaned against the doorframe, looking at her in the mirror.

“You don’t need make-up to look beautiful.”

“Well, I’m going to be wearing some tomorrow. Can’t get married without any make-up on.” Bella said, moving the pad of make-up remover over her left eye, getting rid of the mascara on her eyelashes. She did the same with her other eye and moved onto the rest of her face. When she was done, she noticed Harry hadn’t said anything else. Bella looked at her reflection in the mirror and discovered he was just staring at her, a smile growing on his pink lips.

“What?” She asked.

“We’re getting married tomorrow.”

Bella’s heart skipped a beat. We are. I’m marrying Harry Styles in less than 24 hours. When she thought it, it was unbelievable. She splashed her face with water and rubbed her hands all over her neck, cooling her skin. In an instant, Harry’s arms were wrapped around her waist and his chin was on her shoulder, hugging her from behind. Bella smiled at their reflections in the mirror. She had to admit, they were a beautiful couple. Young and cheerful, with so much ahead of them. Next moment, his lips were pressing soft kisses to her neck. He pushed her hair off her shoulder to allow himself more access to her skin. Bella couldn’t control her actions. She rolled her head back onto his shoulder and closed her eyes. It felt so good. She reached her left hand around behind his head, stroking his curls, biting her lip as her heart thumped loudly. His lips moved up to her ear, moving over her earlobe and around the shell of it. Her skin tingled and another smile came upon her lips.

“Just a teaser for the honeymoon.” Harry whispered. His tone was incredibly arousing. Frankly, Bella couldn’t wait to feel him inside her. She couldn’t wait to call him her husband. She couldn’t wait for him to be a father. Bella laughed and turned around in his arms, looking at him. She kissed the corner of his mouth and walked out of the bathroom; Harry followed her. She took her socks off and hopped on the bed, her left arm draped over her stomach when she got comfortable, resting back against the large pillows. She let out a deep breath and rubbed her stomach, communicating with her unborn child. Her eyes snapped up when she remembered the conversation she had with her mother and grandmother.

“Harry?”

“Yes, future wife?” He smirked, getting on the bed next to her. His hair was up in a bun now. Bella hadn’t seen him put it up but then again, it didn’t take him very long and he always had at least one hair elastic on his wrist.

“When I went out with Mum and Grandma, they brought up a topic I realised we should talk about.”

“What topic?” He asked, his left arm circling her shoulders. Bella looked down at her stomach and wrapped her arm tighter around it. Her gaze went back to Harry.

“Baby names.”

She didn’t miss the wideness in his eyes at her words. She bit her lip and blinked at him.

“We don’t have to discuss it now. We can do it during our honeymoon…”

“No, it’s alright, beautiful. I guess we should start thinking about names. You’re over the halfway mark now.” Harry smiled. Bella looked at her stomach again and was suddenly hit with an array of different names for boys and girls. There were so many names in the world, so many times she liked, so it wasn’t going to be the easiest decision. She needed Harry to agree with her or she needed to agree with Harry.

“A question: would you prefer a boy or a girl?”

Bella didn’t know why she asked it. It was like word vomit, she just blurted it out. Harry looked at her sweetly and shook his head.

“I don’t care what gender our child is. As long as they are healthy and happy.”

Bella cuddled up closer to him, the beat of his heart pounding underneath her ear. If he doesn’t care, I don’t care either. An image of Harry with a little child, no older than three, appeared in her mind. The child was beautiful. From the pink and white clothes, she could tell that the child was a girl. She was gorgeous. Her hair was curly and her cheeks flamed with colour. That image morphed into another one. Harry was there again but the child was a boy now. His hair was curly as well and his smile was adorable. He had dimples as well. He was the perfect mini Harry. Bella felt her baby kick and she rubbed the spot on her stomach where she had felt it. If they wanted to, Bella and Harry could find out the gender of their baby now but they didn’t want to. They liked the idea of a surprise. Besides, if Bella went and found out, she wouldn’t be able to keep her mouth shut and she wanted it to be a surprise for everyone in the family. While she struggled on first names, she suddenly thought of a middle name.

“I’ve got two ideas for the middle name.”

“Let’s hear it then.” Harry said.

“Uh, Joanne, for a girl. It’s our mums’ names put together.”

“That’s…beautiful. Our mums will love that.” Harry agreed.

“And for a boy, William.” Bella said.

“Perfectly British.” Harry chuckled and she smiled. The baby kicked again and Bella giggled, rubbing her abdomen.

“What?”

“The baby kicked again. I think they approve of their middle name choices already.”

She watched as Harry laid his hand on her stomach. Bella didn’t want to move from her spot. She felt so comfortable, content and loved lying with Harry on their bed, thinking about the next day and how their lives would change when their child was born.

It was 10 o’clock when Harry got off the bed. Bella peered at him curiously as she adjusted her position, her hands pressed flat against the mattress.

“Where are you going?”

“No seeing the bride before the wedding. The ladies will take of you tomorrow before you see me.” He said.

“We can’t sleep in the same bed tonight?”

“We’ll be in the same bed tomorrow. And we won’t be sleeping, Bella. That I promise you.” Harry smirked and headed towards the doorway. Bella’s cheeks turned pink. She had no idea where they were going on their honeymoon. Harry refused to tell her every time she asked. But her excitement for it being a surprise grew all the time. Which country? For how long? The one thing she knew for certain was that sex would be involved possibly almost every day. Harry stopped in the doorway and looked over his shoulder, his hand resting on the wall next to him.

“I’ll meet you at the altar.”

Bella nodded, her cheeks still pink. Harry blew her a kiss and disappeared down the hall. She didn’t know where he was going to sleep because her family had taken all the bedrooms. Probably the couch. She assumed. Bella lay back on the pillows again and sighed. The next time she would see Harry, he would waiting at the end of the aisle, ready to marry her. She raised her left hand in front of her and wiggled her fingers, the engagement ring catching the light. Tomorrow, another ring would sit on the same finger. A year ago, Bella was only just falling for Harry and now, she was going to be his wife. With her right hand resting on top of her baby bump, she only had one thought.

I am a lucky girl.
